    Only 1 ACC?

    [ QUOTE ]
Some people in the Acc Weenie Club slotted 95% Acc in the power AND had global acc bonuses.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And STILL we get those strings of WHIFF WHIFF WHIFF, but just not as frequently (and you get to cackle at Nervas).

You must be a real [censored] joy to team with.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I generally solo, but when I do form teams, I follow pretty strict rules about what levels I invite. I don't invite higher level characters so that they don't get shafted, and I don't invite anyone lower than -2 to the general team level unless there are SK spots.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I got to go on a couple of Keep's old Cap runs. Ruthlessly efficient, great communication, and lots of fun. Very much a [censored] joy to team with, but in the good way.
  3. The vast majority of my 84 characters use the market (a couple lvl 2s that have never budged are the slackers). I enjoy it immensely, to the point I'm going to go ahead and get Field Crafter for all my Justice characters, primarily with patient overnight bids/crafting for profit.

But I'd still be here without it. I've been with the game since I4, and it provides a nice getaway from reality. Plus sometimes the explosions of nerd rage on the board are fairly entertaining (someone really has to tell the anti-farmers that it's ED, PvP, and the Market that ruined the game, not AE farms).

Postulate 2: Reduction of inf would be a good thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Having gone through the Bad Old Days of pre-I9, I can't say I agree with this.

However, I did my part last night. Bid over 3 mil on a lvl 33 Posi triple...by adding an extra zero in the middle.

I won it alright. The devs need to fix me.
  8. I'd rather you come into a rundown niche and fix the place up, but I guess that's just me.

Looking forward to this new show, and I hope you will be using the Gene Rayburn really long skinny microphone.

    I AM IN ENDURANCE-ISSUES HELL!!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Would highly recommend abandoning your usual IO-at-50 routine and start picking up every possible pair of +recovery IO sets. Gobs of fire/kin powers take these little goodies and help take the edge off. Heck, with clever buying you can get some major end reduction in Hot Feet as well as more stacked recovery bonuses.

That and get Flashfire ASAP and pair all the stun sets that give recovery (acc/rech, acc/stun/rech).

I've done it with 2 fire/kins (and same basic approach with 2 frads) so far, and wouldn't do it any other way these days.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
Has anyone ever tried to do this...plot out their build from lvl 1 and then horde what they needed/sell what they didn't?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've never gone to that length for a few reasons:

    1) I'm just not that organized.
    2) I tend to use the market as a giant storage device (if I sell it now, I can probably buy it later)
    3) Not every piece in a set needs the same level of patience to get.
    4) I frankenslot at level 12/17/22-23

Since I'm IOed pretty early on (#4), there's no rush to get moving from level 30-33, other than I'd like to get the money powers taken care of ASAP.

#3 is the big deal. Each alt is usually pretty set for cash by hitting the 20s (some more than others). As soon as I can, I'll lay in bids for the "problem children" like Oblit quads, Posi triples, etc. By 27-33, they will usually come in.

And since I try to hit as much merit stuff as I can along the way, I usually have between 60-80 merits waiting to cash in. I'll take my rolls when I can't stand it any more, sell stuff, and then lay in another round of patient bids during the slower 33-40 phase.

And had I known that there is so little of the Touch of the Nictus acc/end/rech piece in circulation, I would have laid in bids months ago, preferably on a stack.

    Come Home!

    [ QUOTE ]
...why there are so many "stuff is too expensive" posts: normal gameplay is no longer rewarding enough to be able to afford the best enhancements in what people consider a reasonable amount of time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While I fully support the right of all casual players to purple their warshades, this concept of 'normal gameplay' is interesting. Since I6(?) 'normal gameplay' has expanded to:

    1) I1-5 mission content (Defeat all X, defeat X and buddies, escort X, and click X)
    2) Villain content around #1
    3) PvP zones, upgraded arena
    4) Base development
    5) Cooperative zone play
    6) Revamped Hami raid, STF & LRSF
    7) Market/IOs
    8) Event-related limited run content
    9) Cooperative taskforces
    10) Player-initated content (zombies, Rikti invasions)
    11) Player-developed content (AE)

And probably other stuff I'm leaving out. Which of these is 'normal gameplay'?

The point here is that CoX has always had a variety of "entry points" which most players can approach the game. "Reasonable amount of time" really needs to not be based on #1 anymore, though it seems there is a ready throng of folks that don't know it's not I4 anymore.

Perhaps if folks thought of it like going off the gold standard...

I offered to sell item X and it sold for more than I offered it

Kinda as if the system was designed to do just that?

Somewhere, somehow, Looks Like He Knows Something is slapping his forehead right now...
  16. Since the bug looks to be with us for awhile, I finally rolled up a character named Chat Bug.

I'm sort of disinclined to believe my second radio mission: "Chat Bug sought by authorities."
  17. Well, for fun (and with an excuse to install HeroStats for the first time) I marched my Shield/DM tank off to Croatoa to consult on this question with some Fiends.

They weren't terribly forthcoming with information, so I ended up having to consult with 108 of them in 2 hours time (plus about 15 minutes at the market shoring up some crafting badges and selling my ill gotten gains).

No pool Cs. Got plenty of other interesting things (got a Deific Weapon out of the trip) and a nice supply of Masterwork Weapons. Still way easier to obtain Pool Cs from the market. But I may give it another go at some point to try and get closer to the magic 600 mark.
  18. I have a fairly kitted-out shield/dm tank I've had parked at 33 since before the meow haydays (dumped my 5 merit rolls and then stayed there for bronze and gold rolls).

I can't really take the sorceresses in Croatoa's Grim Vale, but in the immediate area are many Fiend spawn points. I've acquired much valuable salvage, many giant insps, and a couple decent Pool A's, but to my recollection just 1 junk C.

I'm due for another extended session of Fiend-whackage tomorrow. I'll go as long as I can stand it and track the results.
  19. Squez

    WHY?!

It's re-learning what to get excited about that hurts.

To the OP remember: Every thing you see that is "expensive" is yet another thing that would be nice to sell to someone.

Nowadays, though, if you get sick of waiting to buy patiently and sell impatiently (or do missions/sweep hazard zones to get one), you can just walk over to your local hologram and extract some tickets.

    It is still happening.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, I have been good so far. Is it possible its a server thing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Chat bug is still happening regardless of server.

I can't force it to happen, but most often occurs for me when in the market and then switching characters (previously typed text appears in the password box), or in sending tells after using the market (bids show up as the first characters in the tell).

Certainly makes logging characters in for the anniversary badge a large drag.
  21. [ QUOTE ]
See, that was very insightful to me. I'm what I consider a small time player.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ditto here. As the official Penny Ante Operator of the Market Forum, I really wanted to see how people get beyond the 100 mil mark.

Very illuminating, and very much seconding that this should go in the guides as a case study if it needs a selling point to be there.
  22. Well, except that the base salvage crafting trick is not practical anymore, and they may have adjusted the table to close after it asplodes now.

I'll have to get to version 2 sometime, but glad you found version 1 helpful.

    Issue 13: BUGS

    [ QUOTE ]
    Server: ALL
    Zone: ALL
    Character name: ALL
    Time: Sence I13
    Location: Zones and Missions
    Mission: All I have played
    Mission Contact: Any
Bug Description: I have a very hard time getting Sprint to turn off. It takes several clicks to get it to shut off, or you have to put pointer over it and hold finger on button.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Additional information on this issue: All currently playing power animation must be finished (especially any white circles around the power icon in the tray) in order to turn off Sprint, Superspeed, etc. Prior to I13, Sprint and Superspeed could be deactivated at any time while powers were firing.

And I hate the new behavior so much, though I suppose that's not very helpful to the devs.

Additionally, the only concurrent activity I've been able to do while shutting off Sprint is to be leaping through the air. While in the air, Sprint can be shut off.

Obviously, this is related to the new toggle suppression code. Can the various travel powers (Sprint, Superspeed, Hover, etc.) be given priority in the event handler when the users themselves choose to detoggle a power?
