... Nope, its still City of Heroes.

I can hover, attack, and never get hit outside of streak breaker. When that can be done with a blaster, how can anyone argue power creep? When a defender can use incarnate powers to get a pylon time of under a minute and a half how can giving scrappers something be power creep?
Its power creep because you said yourself they don't need a buff. Scrappers have been high-performance for years now. So they no longer have the high perch over brutes and stalkers or incarnate defenders, why do they need to reclaim that edge again?

Also, IOs and Incarnates shouldn't be the standard to set by when freems don't even have access to either. There's a lot of SO builds out there, the goal shouldn't be to make players like Sam feel like they have to learn Mids-jitsu just to keep up with everyone else.

What I am suggesting is making it inherent. I personally have always hated that my end didn't increase as I leveled any way, but that is just a reflection of my time playing PnP games.
This doesn't make much sense, especially when scrappers already have end-friendly secondaries in EA, ElA, and WP. It would make much more sense to put the final bullet in Conserve Power and switch the Tanker and Scrapper EPP to Superior Conditioning.

I say several times that scrappers do not need anything, but getting something would be nice. I want something more for them, and I am more than willing to admit that that is selfish because it is my favorite AT.
I'll be frank, but sadly not TV's Frank: Power creep.
  5. Princess Johanna, the all-singing all-dancing stereotypical fairy tale heroine. She started as an Emp/Beam/Psy defender, but it was recommended to me switching her to BM/Sonic to pick up her furry friends. I went with BM/Pain as I thought it reflected her singing prowess better, now all I need is a bright power color option to make her truly sparkly.

Ah, but stalkers should've been shredding pylons from the beginning. They're supposed to be the kings of single-target burst damage, the new changes actually made that into reality. But its a trade-off. Scrappers get better survivability and superior AoE.

Most importantly, as has been brought up already, scrappers don't have to chase fury, focus, bruising, scourge, or defiance to hit their full potential. Sometimes you just want to wind 'em up and let 'em go, and scrappers are perfect for that.
  7. Here's my review:

My singing princess has her furry friends. Win.

    March Top 5

Ah, a topic after me own *hic* heart!

Frankie Yankovic - In Heaven There Is No Beer
    Start Trouble - Let's Get F****d Up
    Psychostick - Beer!
The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
Tom Waits - The Piano Has Been Drinking
  11. Poking around with my DB/SR build, I'm thinking:

AS -> VS -> AS -> SS -> AB with 168% recharge and a less than a second of a gap. That's your three big heavy hitters right there, and while Vengeful Slice is, well, Vengeful Slice, it's a good extra shot at gaining Focus for when Assassin's Blade cues up.

    Your DXP Plans

Tide Shifter's 41 and T-34 is a touch away from 34, I'm thinking I'll give them both a run to 50 so I can finally have at least one incarnate in the Force. Though I'm not sure I'll have enough time, what with St. Patrick's Day festivities this Saturday.

Given my experience over the past week, I'm of the mindset that the set was put off simply so Double XP weekend wouldn't turn into City of Grav Control, Dark Control, and Beast Masters.
  14. So, uh, Beast Mastery and Staff Fighting need more tweaks? Or something?
  15. I'll second what Bill said, but what really struck me about that other game as opposed to here was that I was sold on an 'epic' storyline that - at least through the first 28 levels - really wasn't. There have been really only a few times in recent gaming memory that have made me go 'holy cow' from a storytelling and gameplay standpoint:

    - The entirety of Skies of Arcadia Legends
    - One Good Spider
    - The redside clone arc
    - SSA 1.4 blueside
    - The first 'blueside' dungeon in that galaxy far away

For the eighteen or so levels after that, I think I can sum up my experiences as feeling like I was on the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland. After I got bored of that, I came back here and got more actual innovation just hanging around Ms. Liberty in Atlas Park for five minutes.

That's what makes us really unique: The creativity and community of our players. I've never ceased to be amazed at what we can come up with here in CoH.
  16. So I think I'm finally sold on my Ela/TW tank as my tanking main, and probably my main main with a little more work. Titan Weapons is just that room-sweepingly good. I've put him through several builds, and I think I finally came up with one that's (relatively) cheap, survivable, can exemp, and can wade through x8 mobs. I'm still a little iffy on accuracy, but I don't intend on soloing +4. I would've also liked to have squeezed in more recharge, but getting defense and HPs took priority. I imagine once he gets rolling, then I can start working towards making something more expensive.

  17. Alright, boys, we have several dead servers on our hands.

  18. I was able to get in a radio mish and a half with my stalker before I got fed-up with hotel wi-fi disconnects.

Let's just say I can't wait to get back home and get in some real mishes with him. Stalker were awesome before. Now they're glorious.

I'm honestly curious if Paragon's been hearing from Cryptic's legal department.

I was curious enough to do some quick calcs earlier today. With just one TO slotted, it takes a Brute 32 fury to catch up to an equal-slotted scrapper versus a minion. With two PraeOs / two damage DOs and the DFB damage boost, the brute would now need 42 fury. It doesn't seem like much, but it does seem noticeable in practice.

And, well, Street Justice is just that good too.

Except she was twenty-one levels away from Shield Charge and two from AAO when she was rockin' through the Midnighters' arc and her first couple radios. Her damage definitely felt stronger. I think the real difference was having all four DFB buffs and the Prae Origin enhancements, they all help a great deal in the early going.
