I imagine that many players will either be Rogues or Vigilantes, depending upon how enticing the reward for staying true is. I expect there to be many more Vigilantes than Rogues.
I will say, though, that I might switch over to red or become a Rogue (Vigilante > Villain > Rogue) with my fully IO'd toons. I just won't deal with the awful
villain market. -
Either PD, Storm, or Poison. I'm not sure yet.
I'll probably end up going with PD or Storm. -
Quote:I'm intrigued. Are 8v8's or 6v6's not fair? So you only PvP in Cage Match fights? You don't see me in zones because you don't know the characters I play. I only 1v1 though. I like straight up fair fights.
So far my main has only been defeated once in a fair 1v1 cage match... by a /Regen Scrapper. You wanna fight?
What -is- your main, btw? AR/Elec? -
Quote:*sigh*But I PvP with VEATS, a lot more than with Stalkers. This is especially true before i14 :-) I love my NW. Now, what I was saying about VEATS being seen: As it is now, they have a major problem. They are more easily seen now than stalkers, and they do not hibernate+phase , then get out. They might phase but we know phase is not a safe anymore.
This is a lot harder than expected. -
I try my hardest not to repeat sets on one AT (or any AT, for that matter). I already have a 50 Bots/FF, and a 50 Necro/Therm, so that crosses out Thermal or Forcefields.
It's going to be a hard decision. I want all of the powers in Demons/ so that means I won't take /Dark (that'd be 17 powers I want, plus Fitness and a Travel pool. That'd only leave me 2 power choices and I might want Leadership, or Presence, or a PPP.
I'll probably go PD. Less work than /Dark or /Storm. And that let's me focus on my Demon Summoning powers more! -
I admit, though, the different "elements" seem awfully redundant. Hellfire, Fiery, Ember, Living Hellfire.
Just an observation, not a complaint. I'm ready for Issue 17 NAO! -
I can dust off my 50 Bots/FF/Mu if you'll take it! It's not fully IO'd so I can't truly tank, although with other MM's running stacked Maneuvers, I'm sure I could.
I also have all 3 Leadership toggles. -
Yea, you can pretty much ignore what I said in the other thread. I don't give a damn if it's competitive or not anymore.
-
Quote:A Stalker that's sitting next to an enemy VEAT is a bad Stalker.* Also, if a WP Stalker takes Tactics, then that means it gave up either the Fitness, Concealement, Leaping, or Speed pools to get the Leadership pool. I doubt it would give up Stealth, or else it's a REALLY bad Stalker. Also doubt it's giving up Speed, as it's a necessity. So it'd probably give up Leaping or Fitness, making its mobility teh gimpzors or causing it to have poor end management. If I HAD to give up one, I'd probably give up Fitness just because a Stalker shouldn't be in prolonged fights anyway. But I would rather Fitness.there's a huge difference between a stalker with perception buffs or running tactics instead of the secondary's +percep power...
a wp stalker that doesn't run tactics won't be able to see a widow with mark presence and a stealth io unless it's basically sitting next to it.
Point being, VEATS are going to be a big disruptor to Stalkers in zones. But I hope Commando doesn't listen to us so I can ruin him with my Bane and/or Fort once GR comes out.
*Unless that VEAT isn't at the perception cap. Which it should be after GR. -
Quote:I judge a set by how -capable- it is. Dual Pistols is at the bottom 3 in both AoE and ST damage. Now, for a Blaster, whose main purpose is dealing out damage, that's just not acceptable. The problem is that DP is only situational. Situational powers are sometimes useful. Situational powersets for a damage dealer? Doesn't make too much sense. If you judge a set by how powerful it is, then unfortunately for you the devs will make it their mission to disappoint you. The whole philosophy of the game is that no set is meant to be any more powerful than the others, even new sets. They actually do a lot of data-mining just to make sure this is so.
There are certain situations where pistols really really shine, and others where they're just ordinary, or even seem underpowered. It's a very situational set.
Now for DP to have such low damage, the only way to make up for that is by superior mitigation via control/debuff, which DP certainly doesn't have. The devs admitted that Swap Ammo really doesn't make a large difference. So with very poor damage and average mitigation, it's easy to call DP an underperforming, below average set. Yet it's so pretty visually, it's attractive right now. Later on, that brand-new sparkle that DP has will no longer be enough. And all of this is ignoring it's horribly long animation times (although that is the main reason that it's DPS is so low).
Now, do I want DP to be on the level of Fire or Archery? No, not at all. I understand that some powersets have to be poor for others to shine comparitively. But why make a bad set, rather than a middle-of-the-road set? I'd consider Energy/ a pretty solid, average set. Why not make it closer to Energy/? Or Sonic/? Or Rad/? At the very least, HoB needs a damage and a recharge upgrade (more damage, less recharge, or both, as well as maybe a defense bonus while it animates).
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure one could build a competitive DP character, but most other sets will out-perform them given the same available funds.
The point I want to make about Demon Summoning is that I hope it's fairly competitive while visually pretty, not one or the other. I'll still play it even if it is just pretty (and it is oh-so gorgeous, from what I've seen) I just hope it's not worse than Mercs.
But if you really get down to it, there's no bad MM primary, even Mercs. It's just not as good at AoE as Thugs or Bots, and not as good at ST as Ninjas or as good at controls as Necro (although it's solid at controls). But it certainly isn't horrible. -
-
It's worth noting that Blaze Mastery is pretty viable in PvP, too. Granted, it doesn't have the tools that Weapon Mastery does, but it has great raw damage. Fire Blast is a solid ST quick-recharging attack and Char does crazy amounts of damage (also slows them down for a second or two, which is often all you need).
-
Yep, that sounds awfully interesting to me too. I know that if it has something like Siphon Speed, that gives you a boost to recharge, I'll for sure be rolling a Kin/Regen Scrapper. More recharge for my heals please!
Staff Melee sounds awesome, too.
I saw the video. It's here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1l0-2qqElY
Looks interesting. Not sure if it's ranged or not, but you barely touch your enemies. More like a melee-reach energy blast set. -
If it's the MM equivalent to Dual Pistols, I'll be very upset. You are one of the few that believes Dual Pistols to be impressive. Visually it's impressive, although sometimes overdone. But as far as gameplay is concerned, it's rather weak and underwhelming.
I hope Demon Summoning is not just a shiny, pretty set that isn't going to have much substance when it comes to numbers and playability. -
I've played a Peacebringer to level 50, and although it can be a little bland sometimes, I still enjoyed it. It was a Bi-Form Peacebringer (Human/Dwarf) because the players that I regularly teamed with were both Blasters and they needed the beefiness that Dwarf form brings. (When I made my first PB back in Issue 6ish, Cosmic Balance didn't work in Dwarf form and that really bothered me. So the fact that the 2 blasters made me even tougher while in Dwarf form was just awesome. There really is no bad team composition when it comes to benefiting from Cosmic Balance).
Anyways, now I want to try my hand at a Warshade. I've played one to 20 before, but I left the game for over a year and when I came back I deleted it. I know that they play vastly different than Peacebringers, and I'm assuming that I'll like that.
I made a quick Tri-form build in Mids earlier today, and I'd like to get some feedback on it. I'm not looking for anything overly expensive. I'll get Purples if it's truly that hugely beneficial (I have plenty of coin, I just don't like spending it wildly to get a fraction of a percentile better). Perma-Eclipse wasn't truly a goal of mine, although it would be nice. But I can absolutely make due without it.
So here is the build that I came up with:

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks for the help! -
Weave, Combat Jumping, and sets that provide positional defense is what you'll aim for.
-
It won't do too well in PvE as well as doing terribly in PvP. You've slotted Miracle where you should have slotted Numina or Doctored Wounds. A good PvP build for a /Regen will slot attacks with Purples/Crushing Impact and Numina in their Regen powers (up to 5 Numina in your character). Recharge will start to get hit pretty hard by DR in the 60-70 range. The best defense you can have is a lot of HP. With 3-4 LotG and attacks slotted for recharge, you'll be good to go on recharge.
Also, you've taken Focused Accuracy -and- Conserve Power, and that seems pretty pointless. Take one or the other (both are useful in PvP). Then get Laser Beam Eyes and 5-slot it with Devastation or Apocalypse. Because of the long cast time, LBE hits pretty hard in PvP. If you don't have Webnade or hard-hitting ranged attack (LBE is the only worthy attack out of the epics) you will not be a threat to Doms or Corruptors and it'll be hard for you to get kills.
Also, you should take Confront and 4-slot it with Perfect Zinger. Yes, take Confront. It will be one of your best PvP powers that you can have. Those 80 foot sonic attacks that that Sonic/Pain Corruptor is slinging around will turn into 20 ft attacks once Confront is used. You can perma-taunt 3 enemies at a time, not that you want that much attention on yourself. Without Confront or Webnade/LBE, you don't have a chance in hell at taking down a Dom/Corruptor.
Good luck! -
Your endurance problems will be nearly solved by the new Physical Perfection power. With the Miracle unique, Numina unique, Stamina, Physical Perfection, 2 Performance Shifter procs, and End Redux's in your attacks (if you slot sets, you'll get some anyway) you shouldn't have any endurance problems.
-
Or just up the damage of Stone Spears to fit better with the cast time.
-
I actually hate the "ground punch" animation for Stone Spears. It feels more brute-ish than anything. I wish they'd at least make it optional for Stone Spears/Fissure as to which animation you want.
Also, Earth's Embrace would be incredible. It's thematic, not overpowering, and certainly useful. -
Go with Fire Melee, Broadsword or Martial Arts (yes, MA). Many Scrappers are wrongly convinced that Katana is a good PvP primary, and it's far from it (quick animating, poor burst damage set). Dark Melee isn't terrible for PvP; Shadow Maul hits like a truck and all of the attacks do some fairly nice damage. But the lack of Build-Up will hurt. A lot.
But I say go for it! Don't be another boring BS/Regen or Fire/Regen. FoTM's get boring. -
It's pretty solid overall. Some very nice single target attacks (although melee) and a couple solid AoE attacks.
Seismic Smash is full of all sorts of win.
It also looks to be pretty good for PvP. Although it is mostly melee, the PvP numbers suggest that all of the attacks hit very hard (including Stone Spears, which is doing almost 3 times as much damage in PvP as in PvE at level 50). A Mind/Earth Dom should be pretty decent in PvP. Not on the level of Mind/Fire, but it will be pretty solid (and VERY damaging).
Oh, and even though Stone Spears isn't all that great in PvE, I love stomping the ground and having spikes of molten lava death send my enemy flying into the air. After that, there's an entire plethora of options; I could beat him with a huge crystal mallet, throw a very large boulder at him, or jump up in the air and hit him REALLY hard with big rocky hands.
It's a well-balanced and fun set.
Some things I do not like: Mud Pots seems dangerous and I'm not sure if I'll be picking it up, as it's just too endurance heavy. Good power for a Stone Brute/Tanker, but not so much for a Dom. But that's just my preference, I am not suggesting they remove the power from the set. I'm also quite disappointed in Power Boost being in the set. Sure, it makes your mezzes last longer. But with Domination, they'll last plenty long enough as is. Build Up would have been great and it certainly wouldn't overpower the set. Another ranged single target attack would have been nice, but I don't know what they could have done (maybe the Thorn Barage animation with rocks or rocky spikes instead). Either of those would be better than Power Boost.
Overall though, I'm excited for the set. -
Is this for real? If so, I'm a very very happy customer.
-
I didn't read your post, so I don't have a relevant response. I can tell you that you'd get far more relevant responses if you used paragraphs. I'd read your post for sure if you didn't have a wall of unbroken text.

Actually, no. Illusion/Radiation Trollers are the safest at soloing GM's and AV's because Phantom Army takes agro and can't be damaged. But there are others that can do it faster (Fire/Rad Troller, for instance).
