  1. I have a fire/storm corruptor named Nuee Ardente - colored his fire powers deep red/yellow and colored his storm powers brown, and when he gets going it's like being inside a volcano. Snow Storm turns into a dust storm and Freezing Rain becomes a rain of pumice.
  2. Once you've unlocked your Alpha slot, any enemy that is even-con or better has chance to drop a Shard, regardless of what level you are exemplared to.

Even worse is that this page still says 2 Shards.
    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Incarnate_Component

Of course you still get Shards anyway because they will randomly drop from enemies during the TFs and sense they changed it to even con instead of level 50 to drop Shards we can now get then while exemplar/Malefactor on the lower level TFs.
It's a wiki - you can change it yourself if you find something wrong...

They are on your minimap - make sure you have "Special" visible, or maybe "Gate" since they mark the entrance to each ship interior.

On the Kahn, why don't you just duck into RWZ, turn around and come out in PI? On the STF, you need to add the train to FF before ducking into the RWZ, but the travel time except for crossing PI is still minimal.
  6. Wow, just tried this TF with 5 people,, almost couldn't make it past the ghoul bombs, and then hit a brick wall with the Durays and gave up since it's late. IN. SANE.

I did spend the majority of the TF copying down the text for the wiki, though.

  7. Looking at getting a new cheap laptop to replace an aging desktop, and I'm going through the stats. It has a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 onboard graphics card. What kind of performance can I expect?

I've found it on some benchmark sites and it say 31 FPS on low and 17 FPS on medium for WoW, but I'm not sure exactly how this would compare to CoH.
  8. Ok, finally back to the thread, and I wanted to post a few links:

    http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Path_of_the_Dark

I wrote this from scratch a while back to help put all the Nictus storylines together.
  9. Actually, the dev you want now is Protean, the current keeper of the lore bible. Manticore left a while back, I believe.

I will definitely be rejoining the conversation this evening, when I get back to the computer.

So your understanding is that after Romulus is defeated in the ITF, Requiem returns to the "present" in time to watch the Council take control of the 5th Column, but that the 5th Column minions stay back in time until they return to support the Reichsman?

It's my understanding the the Nictus half of Arakhn has been on Earth for centuries, so she could have seen Requiem in Roman times and then mocked him in the present before he actually went back in time with the 5th column. In fact, that could be how he got the idea in the first place.

    tl;dr: Temporal logistics are hard.
  11. I've been doing a lot of reading as I've been working on copy editing the in-game timeline on the wiki, and things are a lot more tied up than it seems.

Arachnos is founded in the early 1900s.
Ridolfo Uzzano becomes Requiem in 1922, and at that point is working for the fascist Italian government.
Also in 1922 in Italy, The Center and Arakhn meet.
The Council splits off from Arachnos sometime in the 1940s.
The 5th Column, at this point a unit of the Nazi army, attacks Paragon City in 1941.
After the Nazis are defeated in WW2, the 5th Column goes back into hiding.

    Time passes.

The Center extends his influence from the Council into the 5th Column, eventually subsuming them.
The 5th Column reemerge after the Rikti War, when Paragon City is at its weakest.
Once the 5th Column have significant power, The Center makes his move and the Council take over the 5th Column leadership. - Your character is responsible for this, as you convince Nosferatu and Burkholder to join the Council, and then defeat Vandal, Requiem and Maestro, who also join the Council.
Those loyal to the 5th Column (including Requiem - triple-crosser!) travel back in time, hiding out in Roman times. (ITF)
Roderick Mueller frees the Reichsman, and the 5th Column loyalists travel back to the present to support him. (Kahn/Barracuda TF)

What I think most of us (if not all of us) gathered from that was, Manti and GW would be switching sides. I mean, we all know that Statesman is a giant jerkwad to Manticore on a regular basis, and we also know that GW really resents Recluse for all the crap he's put her through with her own spirit and Wretch.

Unfortunately, that's all that's ever happened regarding Manti, GW and Going Rogue. Was it just a temptation? Were they never really slated to switch sides? Was that a story line that got pushed to the side because of the Incarnate System?
From what I understand, the original developer intent was to have certain existing signature heroes and villains switch sides as part of the Going Rogue story line. However, when they began to plan this out, it quickly became apparently that doing so would screw up a LOT of the existing lore in-game, since they all DO STUFF on their current alignment.

Because of this, they developed the two new characters we got with GR - Maelstrom and Desdamona, and left the existing characters as heroes and villains.

When events start, the timers are all synced, so you get everything at once. They'll spread out over the weekend, though. Zombie invasions are part of the Halloween Event.

  15. I'm working on some wiki pages, and I have a few questions about bases that my search-fu can't answer.

When base access was still limited to those who had purchased CoV, what did the message say when a CoH-only account clicked on a base portal?

When were bases opened up to all accounts, regardless of which codes they had applied?

Yes, you need to have GR to do a Morality Mission and reaffirm your alignment, which then gives you an a-merit.

  21. Just ran the rescue Walter Daschle mission from Buck Salinger, and when he summoned the Fir Bolg to assist me, they instead started to attack me. I'm a vigilante stalker, not a hero, and I was curious if anyone else had seen this problem.

Bug report has been submitted, of course.
