When I was leveling up my WP/SS tank I had a plant/sonic following me around. Worked nicely.
I've also had an earth/rad troller that was helpful with dual boxing.
If controllers aren't an option, I'd probably do a Rad/* defender, maybe Rad/Sonic (or corrupter flavor) or maybe a pain domination corrupter. -
Quote:LOL I remember reading on the forums about someone was going around claiming to be BABs and was asking people for influence and that if they didn't open the trade window with them they would be banned from the game.Only if you want to get your account banned for impersonating an NCSoft employee.
People are silly -
Quote:They never said the location is being upgraded. So the servers' location is being upgraded? Are we getting the rack with the better view now?
For all we know they could be going from a Penthouse in a 6-story building to the couch in someone's basement :P
Doesn't really matter to me where their servers are as long as they run properly -
Quote:An old wooden ship steering wheel would be an -awesome- shield!Oh, and is there a shield that literally looks like a large piece of bark? Because I have a concept that would go great with that. Either that or woven twigs. The tribal shield just doesn't quite work the way I want for this idea.
And can we get a steering wheel option too? Both car steering wheel and pirate ship kinds. I'd like to do a Jackie Chan tribute MA/Steering wheel character and I've got a pirate idea that would use the steering wheel and a sabre to fight with.

I said I want game time crediting, not a refund.
Hypothetical situation: Your account is set to expire the last day of the month at 2:00 am local time (totally making this up).
If they gave you 12 hours back to your account starting at that point, would you feel satisfied?
And for the record, I'm not trying to be sarcastic or combative. I'm truly trying to see things from your perspective here. -
Quote:I was figuring for 24hours total downtime over the past few weeks :P Either way, it still seems silly. We're only talking 12 hours here so it really just a matter of $0.25 for this one time.
It's one of those things where you have 168 hours in a week, and there's a tizzy over 12 of those hours. That's .07% play time.
Also, FWIW I'm not saying people don't have a right to complain. I believe that when it comes to your money, you can praise/complain all you want. I'm just trying to put things into perspective. -
Quote:For argument's sake, let's say everyone pays $14.99/mo for access. No use to me at all. I want the time I've paid for, thanks. I think that's a simple enough request. Maintenance happens, but the sheer amount lately is just taking the pee now.
Let's also say for argument's sake there's been 24 hours worth of downtime over the last week.
So with my handy-dandy calculator, that would be $14.99 / 30 = ~$0.49 per day.
You're basically asking them to refund you 50 cents.
So a 50 cent refund + credit card/Pay Pal transactions fees x ~200,000 players equates to quite a bit. And I'm not sure how they would figure for people who pay with time cards. I suppose they could just add 1 day of play time to accounts (standard code rant withstanding).
But with the likelihood of the above vs getting some extra Paragon Points (or discounts in the store) I'd guess we're likely to see the latter as opposed to the former.
YMMV.
I'm with you on this. Unless it's something major like 2+ days without service, it's not worth my time or effort to sit on hold for 30min+ and deal with CSR for a $2 refund. -
Quote:Mmm some bonus Paragon Points would be nice. I can understand them not refunding subscription moneys but tossing some extra PP into our accounts would be nice.Exactly.
Considering how much we've been buggered about lately, it's time they granted us some compensatory game time. Because, y'know, making people who PAY TO PLAY suffer so that the freeloading people due to turn up don't get a negative experience isn't the right way to go about things. The freeloaders can go stick their heads in a pig for all I care.
And no, in game rewards or events which just lag the servers into oblivion are not acceptable. I've lost game time I pay for, I want that back. -
Quote:Thursdays are the worst for me because if the downtime goes longer than expected, my SG night doesn't happen. For me Thursdays are the best days for maintenance but that's because I have my radio show on Thursday evening...guess I'm lucky.
But it sucks for all the other players that are effected by this ridiculously chosen schedule.
Everyone has tight schedules and Thursdays are the only time where the few of us who are left actually get to spend time playing together.
But whaddayagonnado? Hopefully it'll stay on schedule. -
If we can't get f2p'ers as mounts, can we get them as shields?

Quote:According to the CoH Facebook Page (which I know you all -love-):12 hours is a long time, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it.
Besides, it's during a work day, so go do work. Unless you don't work, in which case I'm sure there are other ways to remain occupied...
Quote:City of Heroes: This maintenance is to upgrade the City of Heroes server infrastructure. The servers are being physically moved, which will require a 12-hour timeframe. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. -
The most fun farm that I remember was one a friend had made in the AE:
Freakshow + Dreck Map + ambush after ambush after ambush
It felt so epic with all the mobs just coming nonstop and then rezzing after they were defeated.
The rewards weren't anything all that crazy - just standard defeat rewards, no exploit there.
It was one of the few times I was grateful for the aggro cap lol -
Quote:If I were a premium or f2p player, I don't think I'm spending 400PP on a 3-mission story arc. Just sayin...At a guess to try and match the number of new characters that would be floating about after an Issue Release, and so it's more enticing for all the F2P and Premium Players to try out.
As it is as a VIP, I'm very disappointed with the arc. I don't think it lived up to the hype they made it out to be.
And to the folks who say that it's repeatable and you can run it on all your characters and the rewards are good (if you're a pure hero or pure villain anyway) how is that any different from the farming that everyone seems to love to hate? -

I had this issue when I was trying to send items from my character to a character on my account that had the "accept email from friends only" or whatever that option is enabled in the option menu. Disabling it fixed the issue. I'm at work now so I can't check the actual name of the option.
Give that a shot and see what happens. -
My Fire/Kin has 20pts of KB protection.
Overkill? Probably.
But as they say... "There's no kill like overkill!" -
I went to the M&G last year and will probably go again this year if there is one.
I had plans to go to the con but the person I had planned on going with and myself aren't exactly on speaking terms right now so I might pass unless I can find someone else to go with.
The M&G last year was lots of fun and meeting Avatea in person was a real treat! -

Their opinion or marketing's opinion?
I'm all for patching exploits, but this wasn't an exploit.
It's very coincidental that all these "limiting" changes lately happen to come right as Freedom and the Paragon Store launches.
Trying to limit the amount of influence, loot and xp that can be earned in-game when you can conveniently buy them in the store with real money? Yea, like that doesn't send up red flags. Granted you can't purchase influence (yet?) but I wouldn't be surprised if at some point 100,000,000 influence made it into the store for 400PP. -
Quote:In your opinion...Anything that makes the AE even the smallest bit harder for PLers is good for the game.
Well that's nice... I'm happy you don't. Others do. But they don't count as long as you don't have lag right?
Quote:Leave this poster alone, he/she is trying to PL their post count! It doesn't effect you does it?
Quote:Fixing exploits is never totally pointless - but the problem with these AE fixes is that it leaves behind a pile of abandoned farm missions as the exploiters move on to the next exploit they've found, which just clutters up the AE mission list.
The monkey farm? Yea, that was an exploit.
The Mastermind farm? Yea... that was also...
These are regular NPCs using regular powers in-game at their normal values.
In my opinion, these are completely different circumstances.
I mean, let's say a friend of mine is running Carnie missions and asks me to come alone. Am I exploiting the game if I use a toon that does all lethal damage since Carnies are less resistant to it?
This is almost as bad as what they did with the Freakshow rezzers.
Agreed. -
