So now that clipping with Force Field bubble is no longer perceived to be an issue, can we have the Circle of Thorns pope hats?
-
This. There's a difference between anthropomorphic and furry. The current animal heads fit into the former category because they are more animal than human.
-
I'd personally rather see Phantasm become a replacement for the Phantom Army. Where the Army is focussed on making up for the damage that the Control can't deal, Phantasm is there to take the aggro from enemies through the use of damage Absorb and the Decoy, perhaps two decoys. Give the Dominator Phantasm some weak melee attacks and it's now a tank.
-
I imagine so. The animations involve stomping and tearing out a chunk of the ground respectively.
-
My opinions within:
- A step in the right direction, but not enough. Control-wise, the set is still behind a lot of the others and the extra damage is pretty pointless for Dominators. I'm satisfied with the changes to Singularity in particular. Propel is probably the best it's going to get, the others are still a bit annoying to use. It's a shame the leaked Universal Damage Proc (Knockback to Knockdown) won't be able to be used in Wormhole.
- Good up until you get the dog where, if you insist on playing with sound on, it gets irritating. It wasn't worth the wait. It's not special at all. I'd say it's pretty good though, not as good as Plant but certainly better than Gravity and Ice.
- Dark Assault is fine but a bit predictable. It wasn't really worth the wait. It could have been done ages ago really - if the FX for a new Dark PBAoE could have been made in a matter of days then it could have come alongside the other Dark proliferations. It's got a self-heal, but other than that it's not that uniqur. I think it's pretty good and certainly one of the safer sets thanks to its to-hit debuffs.
- As far as I'm concerned there are no new sets coming out for the foreseeable future. So no, I'm not really that ok. Radiation Defence is boring but it's obvious that the Powers Panel devs wanted a set that wouldn't require too much effort for both animations and FX. It would have been nice to have Air Control or Magnetic Control, but hopefully the devs made notes of them for the future.
- I play on Defiant so the population is pretty small anyway. I also tend to solo.
- I find that I turn into a weaker Blaster because control tends to be a bit pointless. Though I do take a lot of enjoyment in sapping an AV dry on my Electric/Electric/Mu.
- It'll probably never happen. If it does then it'll not be what everyone expects from Illusion Control, for example Phantom Army will be nerfed, Group Invisibility will stay, Superior Invisibility will go.
- Ice Control, definitely. Gravity Control could do with another pass but that's extremely unlikely to ever happen again.
- I'd like to see Gadget Control, Magnetic Control, Beast Control, Air Control and Water Control.

Perma-Dom basically means you can't be mezzed at all, it means you get a fresh endurance bar regularly and it means you can mez bosses with one application. These are basically the three main weaknesses of Dominators - powers can be expensive, you're completely helpless if you get mezzed and bosses take multiple applications of mez.
-
What I'd like to see:
1) Black Knight armour made available to players.
2) Further exploration of plant-themed costume pieces. -
-
Whichever one it is, I will be using AdBlock to get rid of it for my own sanity.

Well Penny has that thing on her face that can burst even the most bountiful woman... And then there's the mask! I still don't see how such an imbecile managed to become a member of the Freedom Phalanx...
-
-
I pick neither. Penny looks awful in both shots... Well, she looks awful in general.

Starting tomorrow, I will no longer have university classes from 9am until 3pm. I was looking forward to waking up to seeing what's new but I guess I'll just have to wait as usual!
-
For things I want to see in the market, I voted for the Black Knight Armour, the missing Circle of Thorns pieces and a male Kheldian Sash.

Quote:I'd love to have Magnetic Control. I have a Gravity/Earth Dominator that is running the whole magnetism theme but it doesn't quite feel right.Good thing I wasn't there. If I was and I saw you scratching out your name and I'd have known you were going to suggest Magnetism as a control set, I'd have kicked you in the kneecap...twice.
Magnetism is a *GREAT* set idea and I'm sure many would love to play it...If the devs aren't going back to add alternate animation themes for old sets so you could swap Earth Control theme for a Metal Control theme (it only half-a-quarter works with the color customized) then the devs should be considering the set seriously.
The visuals could spawn from the ground and basically be pipes and I-beams that sprout up and wrap around foes' bodies/legs. A key/unique power could be a sleep/confuse toggle aura conceptualized as minutely controlling the metal on or in biological creatures and a strong high-mag confuse on robots because you can control the metal they're made of. The pet could either be a hulking golem of metal held together by your energies or simply a floating titan weapon that just goes around smacking stuff...would be awesome if it was like an amorphous liquid metal ball that morphs into stuff (big gun, big arm, big hammer) for every attack but that's probably too hard.
But yeah, Magnetism or Metal Control would have gotten my support. -
If there aren't any melee attacks then they may as well just proliferate all the Blast sets that are very unlikely to get a melee counterpart, like Dual Pistols, Archery, Beam Rifles and Sonic Blast. Then after that they may as well do the same with melee sets like Martial Arts, Titan Weapons and Staff Fighting.
-
Control/Armour would be interesting but also very likely to be the most boring AT in existence.
-
Except double weapon redraw makes sense - you can't hold a bow whilst also holding two pistols. I've always wondered if it's feasible to make a free, 0 endurance toggle that keeps the weapon in your hand at all times so there's no need for redraw.
-
Quote:Then weapon sets must also be a bad idea for Corruptors, Defenders and Blasters with redraw-inducing secondaries or primaries.A weapon set on a dominator is generally a pretty bad idea in general as we can see with Thorns. To stay alive you must constantly switch between attacking and mezzing which means near constant weapon redraw. It only takes about a second to draw your weapon but for a dom that's repeated redraws through a fight. You can easily spend a good 5 to 10 seconds of each fight going through the weapon animation and that's unbearable to me.
I'd be all for Bows, and Thorns for that matter, but only after they get around to fixing weapon redraw. -
I find it annoying that interesting Control sets were argued, then someone comes along for a Radiation set, says "It's Radiation..." and that's picked.
-
Quote:Oh look, someone proving the assumption rule, yet again! Not only that, they resort to playground tactics. I will respond without lowering myself to your level. There are people who only care about hard control. And like everyone else they make up their own definition of hard control.
If you think arctic air is useless that just tells the quality of your opinion - useless.
I care about unique tricks. While Ice Control does have its own tricks, it's the loser in an "I can do better" scenario with Earth Control. Quicksand is better than Shiver, Earthquake is better than Ice Slick, Stalagmites and even Salt Crystals are better than Flash Freeze, Volcanic Gasses is better than Glacier, Animate Stone is better in some ways than Jack Frost.
As for Arctic Air: I like it... if it's loaded full of endurance reduction and has a certain purple Confuse proc. That's not good for a game allegedly balanced on SOs. -
A cool idea but a ton of work if every set would get new powers, even if each set only got one or two new powers.
