  1. We DON'T have threads of people forming teams to shoot at the RWZ target dummies.
  2. Fire/Dark Corruptor
    Traps/AR Defender (or Corruptor)

Other Defender primary/Corruptor secondaries that can allow easy AoE damage are Storm, Sonic, Radiation, and probably a few others.

    Bad Team Bingo

Chriffer and/or myself have experienced something humorously terrible about each and every square. Some are sarcastic jokes and some are scenarios you may not have experienced yet. Also, there is broad interpretation for "spirit of the square". You may experience some ludicrous situation we've never imagined that you think may apply to a square. Post that situation here if you are unsure if you can check that square. We look forward to reading your silly encounters and realizing "yeah, guess that fits".

"The spirit of the square" is open to broad interpretation. One could interpret this square to be a sarcastic, stereotyped quip which one would respond with a rimshot or a sarcastic "har har har you are SOOO funny". Another interpretation is a player on the team commenting how bad Stalkers are while a Stalker on the team contributes greatly. A 3rd interpretation may be a Stalker who is terrible and an embarrassment to Stalker kind. All are valid.

I take the five minutes needed to get a full team together?

I think I might be half the things on this card.
As stated above, think broad interpretation for "the spirit of the card". I am unsure exactly what TGIF means but I will assume it means "Tank Goes in First". We had a specific scenario in mind with this square. This is the example in exaggerated form:

"You are on a team with a Tank. A player who is not the Tank, perhaps you, for some reason is separated from the team and solos 3 packs with ease. The Tank and some of the other team members attack a pack and the Tank gets obliterated and dies. The separated player returns to the group after defeating 3 groups in the time it takes the Tank's group to defeat one because the Tank is getting destroyed. The separated player offers "why don't I go in first". "No, you aren't a Tank. He's a Tank. Follow the Tank in." "Follow Tank" BINGO! Check off that square.

    Ruined Sleep?
    Dr. Quaterfield?
I think the examples of "broad interpretation" of "spirit of the square" handle most of these and "it's a sarcastic jab". A lot of the squares are obscure and ludicrous things. We wanted to toss in some more reasonable ones and/or freebies -- "I'm teamed with a Stalker - That gets a facetious Check!"

Ruined Sleep is sometime where someone uses a Sleep power with awesome affect. He just neutralized that boss that was coming out of nowhere the rest of the team didn't see. Someone aggro'd a 2nd pack and didn't engage them and now they are storming in from behind. Mass Hypnosis! Now the team has time to handle the initial group while the new enemies are safe asleep. Captain Atomic Hole sees the slept enemies and sends in his weak fireball doing 11 damage and waking up the entire gang. Great job Cpt. A-Hole. Ruined Sleep. BINGO! Check that square.

Mentioning Dr. Quaterfield gets a Bad Team Bingo square solely because Chriffer and I find it amusing that the mere mention of it earns you a square. We tried to toss in some other "stereotyped content" like sewers, frostfire, and Mayhem missions for good measure.

Wolfereen does not care about your spelling.
  4. In my experience with Super Strength/Electric Armor, SO'd, IO'd or Purpled, endurance reduction is not an integral part of the defense. Mitigation from the Primary was most effective and allowed a player to do marvelous things.

Slotting a full set of Obliteration in Lightning Field may be problematic if you are having endurance issues. If you slot your attacks with decent endurance reduction and have Power Sink and Energize often you should have no endurance issues. If you are having endurance problems you may wish to change the slotting in Lightning Field.

I suggest slotting towards +HP, Regeneration and Recharge. Accolades, especially Demonic Aura, are incredibly helpful. Cunning use of inspirations also can put you into silly good mode.

My SS/Elec is built without budget constraints and can be seen here. You might be able to steal some ideas. It puts up some decent #s: RWZ Challenge before Rage crashed, 44 enemies defeated per minute when trying for purples and 500k Inf per minute when trying for Inf drops. I think that's a good sign.

Chriffer and I know exactly how you feel. Some of the squares are brutal and mean

    Quote:
    Also, isn't "suicidal scrapper" redundant?
Chriffer and I don't believe so. A scrapper who runs into a huge pack alone is simply "A scrapper". However, a scrapper who runs into huge packs alone, repeatedly, and dies is a "Suicidal Scrapper." That is the spirit of the card. An analogy would be "A Dog" and "Suicidal Dog". A dog who chases cars is a dog. That's just what dogs do. A dog who runs in front of cars is a suicidal dog.
  6. Other than the variety, the stuff dying, using aoe attacks, explosions, "holy cow did you see that guy ragdoll over that bridge", moving, thinking, reacting, interacting with teammates, paying attention to teammates, "dude I totally Fallouted you", paying attention to enemies, paying attention to my health bar, circumstances changing and anything that involves any type of fun it is exactly the same. I might have missed some things.

  8. This thread has lots of archetype ideas, some people mention maps, and statistics on how well they did.

Herostats is what you can use to track the numbers. Defeats per minute is the # you want to maximize for purple drops. Influence from defeats per minute is not necessarily the best measure of wealth being generated because sometimes defeating many more foes can generate many more drops which are more valuable. You would need to do complicated math to figure out which is truly ideal.

I am unclear on what you are saying here. Specifically, I do not understand what you mean by "stamina threads" and "what people want to do...keep smashing non stop".

    Quote:
So, were's the difference? It's not in the button smashing. It's in the WE DEFEATED THE ENEMY/ENEMIES!
As explained several times in this thread the difference between Reichsman and fighting a large horde of enemies is action, excitement and entertainment.

I enjoy the Reichsman fight as much as I enjoy sitting at my desk with my computer off while pressing 1-2-3-4 repeatedly for a half hour. I cannot discern a significant different between fighting Reichsman and pressing 1-2-3-4 with my computer off.
  10. I'm unsure of what you are saying.

Are you saying that fighting Reichsman is similar to fighting 10,000 Lts?
Or are you saying that fighting Reichsman is dissimilar to fighting 10,000 Lts?

    I'll let you decide.

I hope a few people did find it humorous, if not, sorry. I'll try better next time.
    Tips for next time:
tl:dr: Don't be coherent, rational and reasonable.

Don't properly organize your thoughts: you use bold, sentences, and introductions to categories very well.
Don't use proper spelling and punctuation as frequently as you did.
Gradually get more ludicrous. In your post you actual gave more rational support as you moved through your post. "It would make things more easy, I am lazy". Are rational supports. They are true and counter the obvious retort that many others posted: "just reroll" --> "I'm too lazy".
Don't ask "would this help" or "would this work". Your idea cannot be wrong. Take it and run.
Add some logical fallacies: You need some ad-hominem attacks or things that truly don't line up.

Then there's the other group of people saying the gimmick (temp powers based on ATs on the team, or the perceived need to bring a certain team build or risk not being able to complete it) needs to go and "how dare they attempt to make me resort to tricks to finish a fight everything should be easy enough for the greenest Pug team to beat." Do you see how the Devs might be a bit confused as to how to proceed?
    No.

    1) "Some folks don't like the grind of having to whittle down an AV with no challenge but how long it takes"

Thus, reduce his hitpoints greatly. Any team that takes his life half-way can take his life all the way down. Unlike other encounters where fights can drastically change or something new and exciting can happen in this fight everything stays the same. There's no "increased danger" or "new encounter" once he reaches 1/2 hit points or so.

    2) "Then there's the other group of people saying the gimmick (temp powers based on ATs on the team, or the perceived need to bring a certain team build or risk not being able to complete it) needs to go and "how dare they attempt to make me resort to tricks to finish a fight everything should be easy enough for the greenest Pug team to beat." "

Thus remove anything where "Only a player of type XXXX can do this". Other content merely encourages certain players or certain styles. In this one there is a line that literally cannot be crossed without the requisite archetype. One literally cannot push that button without being a stalker. Contrast to the Green Mitos in a Hamidon encounter. They highly encourage holds but other archetypes can pull it off too.

Two non-mutually exclusive steps. Do one AND do the other.

    Quote:
Do you not see how there will always be a group of players that think Encounter A will suck no matter how it's presented?
There will always be players complaining about every change. When they give critical review with logical and valid reasons why its not fun and how to fix it then they should be changed. This situation is one where players have logical and valid complaints and simple solutions: 1) Reduce the HP, 2) Remove archetype specific stuff.

Is there something wrong with designing a Task Force (by definition a team-based activity) that requires an actual Team and some coordination to accomplish?
    No.

    Quote:
What makes beating on Reichsman for 10 min straight different than beating on Lord Recluse for 5 min, or beating on Marauder for 3 min?
5 minutes and 7 minutes. As described below, the TF minimum is 4 people. The time differences are quite large between Reichsman and other encounters and likely much larger than 5 and 7 minutes.

    Quote:
If the length of time it takes to defeat something determines whether something is fun or not, using that metric is going to make for some boring content. At best it will be trivial and at worst it's a time sink.
At some point there is a subjective "this takes too long to be fun". Perhaps your personal subjective line is "I don't mind attacking the same guy for 3 days straight." Mine, however, is right where Reichsman is...

Also, the Khan and Barracuda TF are minimum team size 4. How long do you think this encounter lasts on a team of 4? Would you consider it "lasting too long" on a team of 4?

Give me more gimmicks in this game. At least it's a sign that the Devs are trying (and sometimes failing) to do something different.
I like trying and sometimes failing too. I like the devs trying new things. However, I want them to fix their failures.

  18. I would like to further give my support towards the idea of "cram in more endurance reductions in your attacks". Endurance Reduction in attacks will give you greater results than small .02 recovery bonuses. Of course, both is best. But if you have a few slots you want to go endurance reduction first.

Also, the challenge was quite silly. 8 Repeat Offenders verse 8 Bosses is not a challenge. I cannot conceive of a character we could have gone up against, as a +4 boss pack, that would have been a challenge for the team we put together or virtually any RO team.

I was thinking about sending the devs huge thank you notes, certificates of awesome, and other things for fixing TF difficulty.

Then they made it so my AE works in moronic ways with allies rendering my contest pointless and unfun...
Then they "upgraded" the market so I can no longer search for recipes, no longer can get an at a glance reading of how everything is doing, have to turn off prompts everytime I log into a character, and have to go slowly because their new system auto-fills in fields with numbers I don't type there.
Now they are placing pop ups on my screen that they spent time removing.

    What's next? Clippy?
  24. This is what the Mystic Fortune Buff feels like to me:

I despise having something pop up in the middle of my screen while I'm trying to shoot stuff.

*EDIT* Is there anyway, from anyone Dev or player, that I can make my game NOT get that popup to occur. I don't care whether I do or don't get the buff. I simply don't want that damn window on my screen. I'd rather not have to do something everytime I login and I don't want to make a button to spam in local "don't fortune me".

Surely, there's some way to get rid of this damn window. I know there is... its on live now.

Also, just asking here, because I don't know if it has or not been done, but MoSTF with no direct healing? I wanna see the team beating Recluse like this, as to commend them on what I feel is a great accomplishment.

So does that suggest that having a team with 8 people on it is magically enough attckers to nullify all damage done to the team?

You do realize the true goal of a healer is to minimize death to an acceptable level, and within my playing circles 0 deaths is the acceptable level.
