So the advice im looking for is this what should i concentrate for a bots/storm mm
pre thank you for all the info

    @Nutty
Concentrate on? I would concentrate on learning the powersets by playing the crap out of them, and then adjust my slotting as necessary. Storm is a very powerfull set that you will never get a feel for on paper. You need to play it to figure out how to keep the mobs in your freezing rain patch, or to use a wall and hurricane to corner a mob so your tornado can rip it a new one. Dont get me wrong, you dont need to do those things, but you should know how.

Or are you asking about IO bonus's? Stormies go through end like crazy. More end = more super happy fun times. Stormies debuff the frag out of stuff and have long recharging dmg powers. The more you can fire off that stuff the better. That translates into recharge. 'caning the crap out of mobs will drop their tohit to bargain basement levels, pair that with defence and you will be very sturdy. Bodyguard mode and keeping the mobs focused on you, and not on your bots will make your toon pretty much unkillable.

If you have any specific questions, please let me know.

Not very thematic for one thing? Even in the fighting pool, with two damage powers, they are actually kicks and punches, not an aura. I think it would be difficult to make one generic enough to be explained away by all the origins, etc.

Besides, giving my Spines/Fire scrapper access to another damage aura would be a bad idea.
  4. Use it to deny the mobs access to your pets, and keep as many of the mobs debuffed by it as possible.

Kinda the wrong attitude to have when defending one set over the other mate.

If pressed to make a choice, as I said in a recent thread, If I was playing a blaster with no defenses or mez protection, I would rather have an FFer. A scrapper that already has decent mitigation and mez protection? Pass me a cold one please.

Course I am more likely to see a leprechan in game before either. The last time I teamed with a (bad) FFer was 4+ years ago. Last time I teamed with a cold was when it was first proliferated to defenders.

    The Best Build

This thread is so disappointing. Where is the mids link?

As annoying as it may be to read that yes, indeed the elec/sd scrapper is still the best farmer, I kind of enjoy reading what other forumites enjoy playing in different situations. Its not good for the altitis though...

I can empathize with your point of view.

    You misunderstood.

And if that is what you meant, you might actually want to say something along those lines instead of fling poo.

Heh. If you pay attention, you might realize that Goat actually has some good knowledge of the market that he passes on to anyone who is interested.

Not sure what is more acurately labeled as dogma, people explaining how the market works, people with no idea how it works, but are willing to label as evil, or people that know how it works and try to imagine how evil it is for others.

What is it that you are good at Coyote? How have you helped out? With passive aggressive insults in order to support the underdog? Pot meet Kettle.

Don't forget your AE foodstamps, where you can gamble that you will get feta. Oh yeah, and sell all the other food ingredients you got while rolling to Wal-mart and pay for the whole dinner, not just the feta!

I find it difficult to empathize with your friends not having patience to buy things on the market. Perhaps part of the problem with them being unmotivated to learn how the market works is that they get stuff from you for free.

Rikti War Zone as well. Least that is why I tend to use it as a hub.

    The best trio

    3 fire/dark corrs.

Floored tohit effectively softcaps everyone. -dmg effectively boosts resistance to the ceiling. Toss in some -regen and 3 fluffies

Fire is fire. There is nothing in this game that 3 fireballs can't fix. And by fix, I mean **** its day up real bad.

Negatives... with the keybinds, you don't HAVE to take hover for it, but it sure is nice if your connection lags at all.

Like Je-aist said, he knows nothing of emps...oh wait its everyone else that knows nothing and only Je-aist knows this game and its typical player. Sorry dude, youve been served....again.
Heh. On my scrapper, your bubbler can be replaced by a single purple insiration. To my knowledge, there is not a recovery inspiation, a regeneration inspiration, or a recharge inspiration. I'll take the emp kthnxbai.

As for the topic, to my understanding, introducing cold as a set gave the devs a way to deal with the percieved unpoplularity of bubbles with the player base because of the passiveness of the set. That of course does not explain why defenders get both. I tend to agree with Fulmans that the devs are embarased by the set.

(Original Text: As for the topic, to my understanding, cold brings everything a bubbler does to the team and more. Cold does not bring everything to a team that bubbles does, it brings different things. If I am playing my blaster, I may prefer to have bubbles to softcap my squishy ***. My scrapper would get more from teaming with a cold or an emp.)

Fulmens, It isn't oftern I will disagree with you, but I can't let this slide. There are many different ways to farm. Farming purps? Farming to PL? Farming for drops, etc.

Yes anyone *can* farm anything, but there are people in this game that turn it into an artform.

The biggest challenge I have had in this game was back when there wasn't an aggro cap, when you could have a whole map chasing you down, and you are running around using the map and breaking line of sight to keep the mobs on you. Convieniently, BLOS also gives you a breather till your next stop. Like any other content in this game though, once you do it a couple times, it takes no effort to trivialize it.

Leveraging the map, your powers, the damage types, mob resistances, getting the right recharge down for your attack string are all things a decent farmer takes into account when setting up. Often times taking something hard, and through repetition, making it easy. The first thing I do when setting up my farm is jack up the difficulty for my toon.

In the end, once you do run through the content a few times, It is all repetative. It matters not if you do it 20 times, or 2000...

Donna_ wasn't being elitist, She was telling the op to learn the ropes first. Replace "Worthy" with "ready".

  20. Rogue. Going rouge is only applicable to heroes and vigilante's on their way to red side. Alores! Tabernac!

They are 3 different tools that can do the job with some overlap.

With i18, Tankers were given a new inherent ability called bruising. On a successful hit, any tier 1 tanker secondary power set attack will bruise an enemy target. This bruising effect causes a resistible 20% damage resistance debuff which lasts for 10 seconds. Bruising cannot stack, even if there are multiple tankers attacking the same target; thus, it is a good idea for multiple tankers to spread attacks out on the whole spawn.

Tankers are not needed, however, against large hp bag type mobs, are a nice AT to have on the team.

Scrappers are scrappers. Brutes can build up to scrapper level damage, while having better defences and a taunt aura.

Right tool for the right job was what my dad used to say, of course, that wouldnt stop him from using a wrench to smack down an errant nail if a hammer was further away.

    1) They need the top end equipment to play level 50 content
    2) They need to get billions of inf for the top end equipment
    3) Farming is the best (sometimes, they think it's the only) way to get billions of inf.

of those three, I'd say 2) is correct. 3) CAN get you billions of inf, but usually you can make it faster and far more easily on the market.

    Oh, I'm going to add
    4) Marketeers are evil parasites on the necks of the hard working noble farmers. Clearly we're forcing people to sell to us at a price they themselves set, and forcing other people to NOT leave bids at 1 inf over our bid price, and forcing those people to pay our prices to have the shinies right now. Trilateral commission has NOTHING on us.
    You forgot,
    5) Farmers who market are the lowest of the low. They know they are hurting themselves by marketing, but are compelled to do it, even if it makes them throw up after a marketing session.
  22. Welcome to the game?

Unless you really enjoy repeating the same content over, and over, without checking out what the rest the game has to offer, I recommend you roll a aoe centric toon (melee is great for surviveability) and play the game. Once you have some experience under your belt, you will have a workable toon to farm with.

If you just want influence, I recommend you go to the market section, and take a look at some of the guides there. Tons of info on how to get people to give you lots of influence for things they are too lazy to do.

Bruising is the tankers new inherent power that was released with i18.
