  1. Until recently I was gasping for slots. I had deleted several of my 50s that I never played in order to roll new stuff.

Now I've got a couple slots free, of my 24 slots on Champion I regularly play at least the first page of characters (delicious, delicious Corrs). Second page is the free slots, retired heroes and vills I rarely play at all.
  2. I would say in terms of best performance for the least money (SOs/frankenslotting) the best farmers are fire/kin trollers heroside and ss/wp brutes villainside.

For making influence, Fulmens is right on the money (har).

Way I see it, the stone brute is the pity slot with a setup like that.
  4. Skyshatter, my ice/storm corr hit 50 the other night (cheers Kahlan ). Now IOd out and working on his accolades. :3

High recharge (60+) and defense. Ranged or Smashing/Lethal would be my recommendation. +hp is always handy too.

Pretty much all corrs are great for the RSF, but if I had to pick one as most helpful overall, it'd be a cold.

You'd have an edge in people not thinking you're full of it if you didn't post laughable claims and then prove yourself wrong with your own numbers.
  8. Heroside cheap: Fire/Kin

    Heroside expensive: Fire/Kin

    Villside cheap: SS/WP

    Villside expensive: SS/SD or SS/FA

You can farm with many things but those are the best.
  9. I'll be matching the initial prize money, so 90m from me. I should be on later tonight (definitely before the event) to hand over the dough.

Umm...not to detract your attention from your lover's spat with SoulTouch but you realise 461k is more than 427k, right?

As in, Footstomp is doing more damage than Ball Lightning.

Okay so putting together a rough Mids build with the numbers you say you've got:

With Rage, Fury at 80, 83% dam enh% and a Geddon proc, Mids is averaging Footstomp to 286. Hitting the target cap every time means you're doing 2,860 damage every 10 seconds.

Same enhancement values as Stomp and a Posi proc average Ball Lightning out to 194.4 At the target cap, thats 3,110.4 damage every 22 seconds.

Super rough math follows (there is no Arcanatime here, son):

Footstomp damage over recharge = 2860/10 = 286 rough DPS

Ball Lightning damage over recharge = 3110/15 = 207 rough DPS.

The math is very rough (no Arcanatime, no cast times, Hasten not in the mix) but the fact remains: Even if you hit the target cap every single time, Footstomp still does more damage over time.

In non SUPAR SEKRIT AE FARMZOR situations, Footstomp totally blows Ball Lightning or any other patron AoE out of the water. Higher base damage, large radius, faster recharge.

Unless you're fighting something that is weak to energy damage and resistant to smashing damage. Like Freak Tanks, I guess. But choosing to farm something resistant to your primary and highest source of damage for something weak to your secondary and lower source of damage is pretty silly.

Also while I'm more than willing to farm and get some numbers for you, inf/min doesn't mean dick as far as proving your Ball Lightning does more damage than your Footstomp. Run Herostats, that'll show you how much damage your powers are doing.

Edit: you're probably fighting Freakshow, which would account for Ball Lightning doing more damage. And if that is the case, that speaks more to the nature of your farm than the relative power of Ball Lightning and Footstomp.

I'm skeptical of BL still doing more damage than Footstomp even in that situation because of its DoT nature even if you throw it out before Stomp most of the tics won't land because stuff will have died. I've found I get much more damage out of Dark Obliteration than I did with BL because while it has lower damage, the damage is all dealt up front whereas I was only getting the full benefit of BLs higher damage on bosses.

You'll wreck your mental vocal chords wailing that much.
  16. Its also important to note using Hibernate puts the NoPhase debuff on you, so you can only use it once every one or two minutes (I forget how long the period is, but its long enough to make using Hibernate as a AV soloing heal unfeasible)

You get more damage from Ball Lightning than Footstomp? Either you've failslotted Footstomp or this is an exaggeration.
  18. If it goes off, it buffs the pet. The problem is, pets were changed a while back to be unaffectable by recharge buffs. I think you can still put it in there, it just won't do anything. If you want to put a KB proc in Phantasm or Sleet you'd be better off with a damage proc.

The FFB proc only effects you in powers that strictly you cast, like Energy Torrent from the Body Mastery APP.

What's funny (in a fail kind of way) is a FFB proc in Lightning Rod or Shield Charge. If it goes off, the pet (summoned at the location of your targeting reticle that does the KD/damage) would get the buff, except the pet dies instantly after dealing the damage/KD
  19. That's not been my experience. My experience is that you can talk about what you want, as long as you know when to shut up. You don't seem to have mastered that particular skill.
  20. I've gotten a few emails that went straight to my junk folder from "NCSoft Support". Except the grammar/spelling was always a little off and while the link looked kosher in the email, mousing over it would reveal it would actually take me to sacuar-ncsoft or something.

    Nice try, Zarflax!
  21. You can get away with just Siphon Speed/Inertial Reduction, the reason I still picked up Super Speed on my kin is for ease and stealth. If you put a Celerity in it it'll give you a lot more freedom of movement and maneuverability.

It's worth considering if you want to sap stuff as you'll be able to get right in the middle of spawns before they shoot you.

It's a matter of opinion, but for team safety specifically I'd take a Controller with any secondary prior to an Empathy Defender. For hybrid mitigation/DPS, the Defender is just fine. But for some reason all of the Empathy Defenders I meet think they add more survival than Controllers (or even FF Defenders), which I have rarely actually witnessed.
Good points, I agree with you. I probably should have added a disclaimer that I build with IOs, so looking at a set I'm trying to gauge maximum (or at least higher than SO) performance. IOd Empathy for high recharge to get maximum uptime on the RAs/AB and Fort on as many people as possible is crazy uber.

I would also rather have an Emp troller than an Empathy defender. Brings more mitigation through mez and the weaker buff/debuff numbers aren't a dealbrealer for me. Emp controllers generally having less of the ****** attitudes commonly found, but that's another discussion for another day

Oh yeah, that's a very good point. It does.
  24. Okay so back from work, got access to Mids.

I would again reiterate to go for s/l defense if you want defense, otherwise aim for +recharge and +hp. If you want to drain stuff you'd be better off with Efficacy Adaptors in Short Circuit.

Charged Bolts and Lightning Bolt are way, way underslotted imo. They've got passable accuracy and the damage isn't a huge deal because of Fulcrum, but if you ever exemplar down its going to be brutal. They've also got no recharge enhancing and I'm not convinced you close to enough global recharge for it to work.

If you want to sap stuff I'd focus more on Short Circuit/Ball Lightning (swap out the Posi Dam/Range for an end mod IO) and Transference. Short Circuit -> Power Sink is a very powerful sapping combo but it shouldn't be at the expense of slotting your attacks. With Power Sink and Transference you don't need Conserve Power, so if you wanted more defense you could pick up Maneuvers. The defense is always handy for teams (and you should you choose to go the s/l def route) and you've got more than enough endurance for it.

I've gotta admit, the Ragnaroks in Thunderous Blast seems a little odd. For myself, I prefer purple sets in powers I use all the time to get the most use out of the higher proc rates. While with Fulcrum, PS and Transference you can use TB all the time, I'd put the Ragnaroks in Ball Lightning.

Here's a rough draft of how I would make an elec/kin if you want to take a look.

First a high rech/sapper build. Hell, I've probably gone overboard with all the end mods but if you want to sap, this'll do it. If you want a cheaper build just swap the purples out for cheaper alternatives (Posis instead of Rags, Decis instead of Apocs)

I'm sure somewhere in those two messes you can find something useful

    Hope it helps.
  25. If you're not dead-set on Mu Mastery you can quite easily softcap s/l defense with the Scorpion Shield and a few sets of Kinetic Combat (pricey though).

If you go that route you can still get pretty sizeable recharge, even if Elec doesn't benefit from it as much as some other sets.

As for sapping, while it is a very valid tactic, with the damage buffs from Kinetics and Scourge you'd be better off focusing on blowing stuff to bits rather than draining their end bars. I would focus (as above) on getting high (if not softcapped s/l) defense, then getting recharge to bring Ball Lightning/Fulcrum back up ASAP. The recharge will also help with not having a Tier 3 blast.

    Hope that helps.
