I wouldn't say so. I would say soloing is just the pet(s) by itself, with nothing more than whatever is slotted in it.

Although it would be interesting to see how fast my Fire/Fire Dom could "solo" a pylon with Fort and AB :3

twilight grasp is a 20 feet power and heals around 500 if slotted.

a typical spawn is up to 40 feets wide, thats 5024 square feets.
your debuff will cover only, lets hammer it down, 8-12% of the total spawn width.
ahahaha, what is this I don't even
  3. It doesn't do KB, it does KD.

    Focus is stupid-good. Get it.
  4. Yup. It'd be nice if the pvp IOs dropped more so that afk farming wasn't the only feasible way of acquiring short of paying well over the inf cap.

Unfortunately, I think afk farming will get whacked before any kind of change is made to make pvp IOs more available.

Fire does not have a "pro" which sets it out above the others aside from the heal.
Which is why it needs a buff :3

sense of entitlement rage is delicious rage
  7. You're right, it'll check on every target in range when first summoned and then again 10sec afterwards.

I'd not bother, Blizzard does plenty of damage as is. If you've got a way to regain endurance and want to use it as often as possible, I'd put in a recharge rdx in the 6 slot, if anything. Ragnarok gives pretty good recharge, though, so it might be fine without it.

What I did was put 5 Ragnaroks in Ice Storm and 5 Posis and a rech rdx in Blizzard.

Yes, but unlike Invincibility it has an incredibly short duration (1sec base). RttC will get the mobs aggro, but you'll need to attack/use Taunt/slot RttC for taunt to keep it.
  9. For farming, SS/FA will do much better than SS/Elec. Where SS/Elec will shine is leveling up, where you'll fight a variety of stuff with exotic damage types and debuffs that /elec protects against.

I wouldn't recommend Fire/Elec, for farming or uh, otherwise, really. Fire does huge damage but has zero mitigation. /Elec is not as squishy as /FA, but it still needs mitigation help from the primary. SS/Elec works great because SS is end heavy and you can knock stuff down every 5-10 seconds with Footstomp. Fire/Elec will kill fast but be squishy as all hell.

You can of course build a pretty tough Fire/Elec by going for some defense, (melee for example), but you'd get better returns with a SS/FA or SS/Elec.
  10. 1. When I was testing his limits, I got my Earth/Kins Animated Stone to solo quite a few bosses. The toughest was probably a Malta Gunslinger. Took aaaages though. Someting I did think was awesome though: while not soloing, he did tank Reichsman for about half the fight in a KTF. Granted, Reichs was debuffed, I was just amused to see Stony and him slugging it out in the middle of the podium

    2. I've never really tested pets vs a whole spawn, but an Animated Stone could probably work his way through a 2-3 man spawn. It depends on what he's fighting. Imps by themselves could do enough damage to kill a 6man spawn, but no way would they survive the attempt Maybe one of the MM tier3 pets could solo a pretty big spawn, like the Assault Bot or Demon Prince.

    3. Probably the Assault Bot. It's got Burn patches which would drive all other pets bonkers and has hefty ranged damage with a -regen debuff to boot.

    4. That's a tough question Probably Fire Imps. I love the psychotic little buggers. Or Dark Servant, he does no significant damage but neuters spawns.

    5. I'd probably pair Fire Imps with Dark Miasma. The safety of Dark would mean the Imps aggroing everything in sight wouldn't matter

  12. Ahaha, daaaamn your pc looks badass.

Also wow, surprised at how many people have these Logitech G11/15 keyboards.

Edit: get a proper mouse though
  13. Mine is a G11, the one without the LCD. Looks like Hatch has the G11 too, Slacker has the one with the LCD though.

I had looked into getting one with the LCD but none of the stuff I could get on the LCD seemed to justify the added expense. It was all really neat party trick stuff, but none of it seemed like it'd be really awesome.

Given how I don't use my macro keys, (like, at all), this was probably a wise decision

One of my friends swears by his though.

I bet UM looks fantastic on a 40" or 60" tv I should actually try it out, the living room tv is 41" iirc.

    Damn, this bears investigation.

  16. Fire/MM vs AR/Dev is not even close to a fair fight

The Fire/MM has better AoE damage, less resisted damage, Aim and Build up, better survivability and better ST damage. The only thing AR/Dev does better is having a crashless nuke but with a good Drain Psyche you can recover right through the Inferno crash
  17. Haha, pretty much. I already often surf the net while playing (for pron of course). Alt tabbing makes me sad.

I also often watch tv or movies while farming, it'd be great to not have to shrink my CoV window to 1/3-1/4 of my screen and have proper fullscreen action for both the player and the game.

Mmmmm. Fullscreen HD Spartacus Blood and Sand on one screen, idly smashing Nemesis on the other. Do want.

Anyone have a spare functioning 22"ish LCD kicking around they don't mind mailing to Switzerland? :3

I agree with all the above points, slight amendments made by me italicized.

I take no issue with someone bringing up the bad-attitude behaviours that can, and I'm sure frequently do, come about as a result of the Mo badges. I only take issue to these being stated as standard when it is clear that they are not. Even if 90% of teams were arseholes about it when someone died, it still wouldn't be accurate to say all Mo teams are arseholes about someone dying.

I can only speak for myself, but yes, I am 100% sure. I know this for a certainty because I've only been on two Masters attempts, both successful. Both RSFs, one with a full team, one a 4-man one. Granted, since I've only been on two attempts and both are successful, maybe I'd experience a whole world of unpleasantness if I were on a failed one.

However, given that I've only, (and would only), run them with friends who I know to not be tools about that sort of thing, I highly doubt it.

If I pugged Mo attempts, I'm sure I'd come across some of the really stupid and petty behaviour you describe. What I'm saying though is, that's not the fault of the badge. That's the fault of stupid pug people being stupid. If it weren't an Mo attempt, they'd find something else to be stupid about.

I don't think you should "suck it up", quite the opposite. I don't think you should tolerate crappy attitudes, I think you should find people with better attitudes to make these attempts with.

I'm sure you've got 7 friends, (or fewer, even, since a Mo can be run with as few as 3-4 people, get some random people to fill and quit), who you can trust to not be tools about it?

If I knew someone who would badmouth someone for dying on a Mo attempt and bully them for it, that person would not be counted among my friends.

Pugs from badge channels are fine for random mission badges but I'd not take them for anything requiring coordination or trust.

I work on the general principle that I can trust a pug team member to do two things and two things only. Have a pulse and increase the spawn count. Anything above that I regard as bonus

In regards to your response to Panzerwaffen, I doubt I'd describe the Mo teams as community-building. Certainly no moreso than a normal team. You can certainly make new friends on a Mo team, but I'd say that's more a general teaming thing than specifically a Mo teaming thing.
  19. Snow Globe, your examples of "community breaking" behaviour lead me to two conclusions.

1: Any community so fragile as to be broken by mundane MMO idiocy and elitism can't be said to be a very strong community at all.

2: If these behaviours you've experienced are representative of your entire community, I'd find another community to play with.

Now, having reached these conclusions I can go one of two ways. Either that your server is somehow the worst community ever...or...that you've had bad experiences, are sour about the whole thing and are making generalizations as a result.

One strikes me as much more likely than the other.

I don't want to dismiss your experiences with Mo badges and I do want a discussion. It is to precisely that end that I would have you to discard this "community-breaking" label because it's not productive.

You want to discuss the pros and cons of this badge, great. That's something I can get on board about and discuss. You want to discuss the positive and/or negative behaviours associated with this badge and having or not having it? Again, totally on board with that.

But 1: labelling the badge as "community-breaking" strikes me as pouting hyperbole and is unconstructive and 2: suggesting that anyone who does not share your experiences has simply forgotten them is, as Panzerwaffen says, intellectually lazy.

    Patrons or no?

Going GW on a Fort or NW is a great idea for theme and Gloom/Dark Obliteration are fantastic attacks. Gloom is better for a Fort than a NW though, because of redraw and NWs are generally melee anyway.

For Soldiers, Black Scorpion is a fantastic choice. For Crabs, another pet so you can be a full Arachnos MM. For Banes, Shatter Armor = 100% liquid metal sex death.
  21. Damn all you dual-screen people

That's next on my upgrade list, but I won't be getting it for some time as I bought a new gfx card, power supply and more ram recently.
  22. Snow Globe, I get that you've had bad experiences with these badges and that's unfortunate.

Still, it's neither accurate nor reasonable to broadly label them as "community breaking".

For the record, I say that as someone who couldn't care less about the Mo badges. I've played for a while now but up until very recently, didn't have any on a single character. If there was someone making inaccurate and misleading broad statements about how fantastic the Mo badges are, I'd be calling them on that too.
  23. ...I guess?

I mean, the only really controlly power you have is Freeze Ray, which you should be using a lot regardless as playing as a Controller or Blaster.

I dunno about now, Brawl used to be alright in pvp because it dropped toggles. I do actually have Brawl slotted on several of my Corrs, for Kin Combats. Softcap s/l for the win, yo.

Mids tutorial...that I could do. Good idea. Will see how I feel about guide-writing once I get my Traps guide done

Edit: for those interested, my Cold guide has been updated with my new opinion on Infrigidate and build chunks have been added for Cold, Kin and Fort. I've also made a few suggestions as to how they could be improved.
