You're right, Ghostie, I did misinterpret a minor detail - In fact, reading it the way you put it there, I love this idea, and it gets /signed.
I attempted to restrict my original post in this thread to the OPs point regarding his opinion that people who play MMOs should not want to use /ignore (or /hide), and attempted to offer an explanation regarding why even the friendliest of players might have a good reason to use the function (which is not to say that the person to whom a similar circumstance occured is the friendliest person in the game, mind). Which, since it was brought up by the OP, and related directly to the /ignore function, was IMO on-topic.
So, F_E, so far it seems that we all think your idea is a good one. Some of us also think that there are good reasons to use /ignore and /hide. -

Another question, my patcher says: City of Heroes-Updater v16.20071011.1 in the upper line of the patchwindow, while below I see: Project City of Heroes - Version 17.20080612.1T, is that normal? Shouldn't the updater have the same version?
[/ QUOTE ]
Can't help with the rest of it, but this one I may be able to shed some light on - the Patcher version has pretty much nothing to do with the Game version.
So there's nothing wrong, to my knowledge, in the Patcher having a different version to the game itself - it'll just be the last time the devs updated the patcher itself, which appears to be some time during Issue 11.
I'm sure someone who can actually access the game right now will be able to verify this (and it would be great if they would).
Very odd time to crash, though.
Just to clarify, though - from everything that has been suggested so far, the game is installed, and it has patched to the current version (see the Announcements sub-forum for the most recent version number), you are able to click "Next" from the first page of the client and "I Agree" on the EULA page. It then brings up the "Loading" splash-text and crashes? -
Yep, it's related to zoning, coupled with the odd peculiar glitch in toggle powers ticking over. I have a Stealth IO in Superspeed, run SS almost constantly, AND crank on Stealth itself (okay, I *really* need to respec...) for the teensy-weensy Def buff in combat, and my PvE stealth radius frequently doubles shortly after I zone, then settles down again, going through some peculiar increments as it does so.

i don't believe in the hide and ignore system, IMO if you used these system there something wrong in playing these type of game and you should try a true solo game and not mmrpg.
[/ QUOTE ]
So what you're saying is that players should never have any reason to ignore another player?
Situation (I am aware of a situation very similar to this that has happened in CoH within the last year): You and your girlfriend are both playing the game. Another player, who doesn't like you, tries to get you and your girlfriend to split up. You both realise what he's doing, but he doesn't stop pestering either of you.
Sorry, but I think you should be able to ignore him.

I was responding solely to the quoted part. Regarding your original suggestion, that sounds fine. A little annoying to the ignoring user, since if they have ignored someone, they probably don't want to know that the someone is messaging them, but I was only responding to the bit in your post about people who use ignore and hide should play solo games not MMOs - I was merely pointing out that there are circumstances in which it is appropriate for your average player to use them. -

Making new co-op zones time again won't do any good. They need to take a break. I wouldn't mind for just 1 issue. It's getting on my nerves.
[/ QUOTE ]
Please tell me, since I6, how many co-op zones have been added to the game, which issues, and whether there have been gaps before?
I12: Cimerora
I11: None
I10: Rikti War Zone
I9: None
I8: Umm, None
I7: No, wait... none
I6: Pocket D
Yeah, we're being overloaded. /sarcasm -

2. What's the point of making a feature the players won't like just because it saves money?
[/ QUOTE ]
I would like to point out that not everyone would agree with this statement. So perhaps they're putting in a feature that a lot of their players will like.
[/ QUOTE ]
I wasn't saying that a lot of the players don't like it, I was saying they could no longer like it. So then the above statement would become true.
[/ QUOTE ]
The above statement is only true if the players won't like it. Please provide proof that they won't.
[/ QUOTE ]
Note the 'could' in that.
[/ QUOTE ]
So, on the basis of "It is possible that, at some indeterminate amount of time in the future, some, but unlikely all, of the players will cease to enjoy doing co-op" you are asking them to stop developing co-op zones, which, the current market research has almost undoubtedly shown, their players do currently enjoy? -

Which means that Liz is using the 175.19 drivers, if I remember my little look the other day.

Here's a linky to the online bit, and apparently there's more in the magazine itself (including a piccy displaying the Purple-Butt-Light power
), and CoX is given 5/5 by the reviewer.

This in the stickied portion of this sub-forum covers all the details of when to use /bug and /petition.
My personal understandding of it is that /bug is simply to notify of a bug that you do not require any assistance with. If you need assistance /petition should be used. It is also not entirely inappropriate to do both in this circumstance, as /petition may also be for other things that require GM support and won't necessarily generate a flag that the issue is a bug.
Edit: edited for typo. -
/bug it. I'd /petition it, too, as the GMs (I believe) can grant you the salvage or finish the craft wand mish for you.
I am waiting for a response on this from support for one of my toons, but yes, /bug it. -
Heh. It's always the simplest things, isn't it? I'm annoyed that I missed that possibility (thanks Nine, for picking up on it), now.
At least the mystery of the unslottable stealth is solved! -

Another question that comes to mind.... has anyone ever selected SO as an end mission reward? I certainly haven't
[/ QUOTE ]
I did, the second time I did the 2nd respec trial (long before Inventions). I didn't have a lot of choice, there. -
Just to seek absolute clarification: You have a Time & Space Manipulation (+Stealth) IO that is no higher in level than your toon's level +3, and you tried to slot it into the Teleportation Power Pool Power called Teleport (Or you're a Warshade and trying to slot it into your Level 1 Teleport power) and it wouldn't let you slot it?
If ALL of the above is true... that's a bug. -

I'm not so sure the badge description matters these days - no other character will know if you've taken a respec; and besides - taking one doesn't necessarily mean you're going to use it, so the badge text becomes moot already.
It might be time for a little update, really.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I agree that the badges should be awarded for completing the challenge of the respec trials (regardless of the reward you choose), the badge text for each (someone with access to ParagonWiki can correct me if I'm wrong - I'm at work, so I can't view the site right now) says something along the lines of 'you have earned the right to adjust your powers'.
Which would be wrong if you didn't select the Respec option on completion of the trial. If the badge text were changed to match the changing realities of the game, then I would accept and be very happy with the badge being awarded merely for completing the trial - perhaps in the suggestions board someone should propose different badges for completing the respec trials but selecting a different reward? -
I can understand your point - as when I did 2nd and 3rd respec trials I certainly didn't need the respecs from them (freespecs and vet rewards ftw!), but had to select that option to get the badges (yes, badge-ho here, if not much of one). I would have preferred to get the badges regardless of the reward I chose, however the badge text are tailored toward the fact that they are granted for gaining a respec, so I can see why things are the way they are.
Basically, if you want a rare recipe from a respec trial, and want the badge... do the trial twice. -
From my read of things, you should be able to. It seems to only be subs and purchases made with NC Coin that can't. Basically, anything you can buy on the NC store, you can now buy using PayPal, so the Wedding pack, GvE item pack, games, and other micro-transactions.

Heh, that's an easy one for me. Most of my time on my main: Galaxy City. I always go there to log out, simply because I want to be there in time for the Galaxy Girl RP meet. Other than GC, I believe I spent most of my time levelling in Talos, simply because it tends to function as a transport hub (Good Greenline access, Pocket D access, entry to PI, Base Portal and Base TP beacon in easy reach of all of the above).
