  1. Here is my arc which is an extension of the already-Lovecraftian Coralax. It doesn't play heavy on horror though, but if you want to fight some plant creatures, this might be a good time to do so.

    Arc Name:Vanguard AQUA
    Arc ID: 58475
    Faction: neutral
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @Sermon
Difficulty Level: Fun for all levels (average difficulty)
Synopsis: Vanguard has opened their new aquatic division to deal with emerging threats from our watery depths. In this, their first large-scale mission, they need your help in warding off the maritime menace.
Estimated Time to Play: 4 missions

I am hoping for the 19.99 price, I have 2 accounts id have to buy for

    [/ QUOTE ]

MMO expansions often include a free month (though WoW might have halted that trend) but I really think a 30-40 price tag is most likely in any case.
  3. I have never gotten more than 1/3 the new ticket-per-mission limit in MA (assuming the 1500 count is what went live). I laugh at any complaints about this.
  4. Reminds me of when, in the Invisibles, they are debugging the team and Lord Fanny (a transgender character) is critiqued that "the transvestite, far from being a rebellious or transgressive figure, actually serves the status quo by validating stereotypes of femininity".

i.e. damned if you do, damned if you don't.

It's going to be very hard to portray your lesbian hellions without offending both sides, especially if you want to intermix a dose of humor. I never played the arc, so these are just my thoughts from reading the thread. In the end, the MA venue is too narrow to say meaningful.

Still, if you took a heroic approach with less humor, then I doubt you would run into too much trouble.
  5. Is there a reason CoV enemies never were ported over to CoH? Like the various CoT enemies (hordlings, succubi). Is it a lore thing? Is it something that would take a significant time investment? I have never understood.
  6. This is the wrong forum for this stuff, I believe. Check here: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/postl...Board=villains

Even though the other forum is called "stories and lore" it is the locus of story promotions at the moment (which is also indicated in the description of that forum).
  7. There needs to be a natural control set, maybe but not necessarily whips. Also, a dominator secondary could easily be cobbled together from martial arts and shuriken attacks (perhaps requiring 1 or 2 new powers).
  8. In one of the interviews posted yesterday Posi said that they are looking into a graphical update for the game (and that they have hired people toward this end). It may not mean much more than updated textures and effects, who knows, but it's something to look forward to.
  9. I think something like a onetime 200 merit cost for a new arc slot (or maybe 100, 200, 500 for successive slots) would be as restrictive as charging money but achievable ingame. Otherwise, they could offer an ingame option for people who want to go that route and a pay option for those who want it here and now.
  10. What are you willing to cut to put all of that stuff you want in?

They would have probably have to redo almost everything from scratch. A sequel would have a lot less content coming out the door than CoH has right now due to development time. So I think that one when one considers a sequel, one should instead focus on what should be different not what should be added.
  11. I feel the opposite. I don't want to start over and have to wait for all of the content and QoL updates which we have experienced over the years. New games are always barebones. I like a full game.
  12. Great interviews. Love the hints.

Don't make us pay for more MA slots though, Posi. I'm not keen on the idea (and I love the booster packs and character slots). Worse, I would hate to read the inevitable threads on this topic. Just benevolently give us a new slot or two down the road (maybe unlockable via MA badges? maybe a merit sink? something ingame).
  13. I thought this was going to be about bosses.

I heard you could just add a space to the end of each name and It would have the same effect...

Ex. Jumbo, Jumbo_, Jumbo__, Jumbo___ ....Or maybe that's been changed. I dunno I've never needed to do that myself.
    *_=Space(s)

That would look a little off in the chat feed though.
  15. The Broken Chain
    Arc ID: 81378
    Faction: heroic
Difficulty Level: available 1-50, medium difficulty (EBs and an AV)
Synopsis: The Legacy Chain has been compromised since its inception when one of the founders, the pure and idealistic Adrastus, was overcome by shadows. Now, centuries later, Adrastus is trying to wipe out the Chain and they need your help to stop him (low level friendly, team recommended, EBs & AV)
Estimated Time to Play: 4 missions, 45-60 minutes
  16. What enemy group are you putting around him? From the sound of it, i find it odd that he auto-completes.

On the other issue, the problem seems to be that the map is not suited for the placement you want. Otherwise, it could be that you have other rescue objectives (as you say) and these could be taking spawn points away from infernal (depending on various factors)
  17. This is an interesting question. Ultimately though, I don't think it's one that people will be able to answer for the wider player base. I have an AV in my "The Broken Chain" which I have made sure it has no enhanced armor or healing capabilities (though it does debuff tohit). Even so, I have still had difficulty complaints about it. So it goes.

Anyways, I think that some players will have trouble soloing an AV scaled as an EB no matter how easy it is designed to be. Hopefully the AV warning would be enough to deter them though.
  18. This may be a map issue. Is back the only location for an ally? Also, if there is no one guarding an ally, then the objective will auto complete.

    Arc Reviews

I would like to request the following for review:

    The Broken Chain[/color]
    Arc ID: 81378
    Faction: heroic
Difficulty Level: available 1-50, medium difficulty (EBs and an AV)
Synopsis: The Legacy Chain has been compromised since its inception when one of the founders, the pure and idealistic Adrastus, was overcome by shadows. Now, centuries later, Adrastus is trying to wipe out the Chain and they need your help to stop him (low level friendly, team recommended, EBs & AV)
Estimated Time to Play: 4 missions, 45-60 minutes

Thanks. The "team recommended" thing is mostly for lower levels. At higher levels it should solo fine.
  20. The closest thing you could do, i think, is have optional objectives in the mission which are good or evil. These optional objectives might, in turn, spawn additional optional details which only occur if you do the original objective. I did this in some minor degree in my Vanguard AQUA arc, but the optional good/evil objectives only chain in my first mission. Also, the players can always choose to do both good and evil optional items.

But, still, this is only in the realm of optional objectives and it cannot be done with required objectives.
  21. I like this a lot. Should there be an attempt to define what "team oriented" means? Also, perhaps this has been mentioned, but an EB & or AV tag might be nice.

The only good part was the actual story idea and the two purples. That Armageddon Fire proc was verrrrry nice.

Sounds like a 5-star arc to me!
  23. I wonder if a warning in the arc description counts as good enough, rather than on a per mission basis.
  24. I have recently been struggling whether or not to make use of clues in my arcs. I feel like they can be a nice way to advance the story of an arc, however I worry that players often never realize they get them (esp. on teams), or forget to check them, and that these end up getting lost in the shuffle.

Is there any specific advice people have about how/when to use clues to the best effect?
