AVs and soloability
I would label it "reasonably soloable on a Claws/WP Scrapper", because honestly that's all the data you have to work with. You need playtesting on other archetypes and/or powersets (either yourself or others) before you can make a better determination.

This is an interesting question. Ultimately though, I don't think it's one that people will be able to answer for the wider player base. I have an AV in my "The Broken Chain" which I have made sure it has no enhanced armor or healing capabilities (though it does debuff tohit). Even so, I have still had difficulty complaints about it. So it goes.
Anyways, I think that some players will have trouble soloing an AV scaled as an EB no matter how easy it is designed to be. Hopefully the AV warning would be enough to deter them though.

I'd specify the difficulty level you did it on, as well as the AT.
Personally, when I hear "reasonably soloable AV," I assume it is an actual AV that is soloable, not the downgraded EB version.
(There are a few, very few, like Indigo which lack purple triangles and can be held and soloed, or perhaps do not have excessive +regen that make soloing AVs the domain of a couple specialist powersets.)
I'd hesitate to venture any judgement of soloability using a scrapper, since they're a premiere soloing class, along with brutes. I know my own perspective on survivability was quite twisted a certain way by having an invul/ tank as main, until I started playing tons of squishier ATs.
Invictus Est Level 50 Invul/Fire Tank
Malentis Level 50 Ice/Energy/Leviathan Dom (Freedom)
Black Jeremiah Level 50 Fire/Fire/Mu Dom
Sejanna Level 50 Dark/Dark/Elec Def (Virtue)

But AVs will only spawn solo on difficulty 5. I think in general it's understood that AV means "created as an AV but will be downgraded to an EB on difficulty 1-4 solo".

I soloed a Assault Rifle/Devices AV (as Heroic)
And I ALMOST beat Nemesis AV (also as Heroic)
to TO THE END!

I could solo them both with an SOd Claws/WP Scrapper at the bottom end of the arc's level range, set to Rugged, using two inspirations on one and three on the other--I consider that reasonably soloable.

Okay, now try that with a Mind/Energy dominator.
I think most people realize that PToDs make soloing even a downgraded AV difficult for dominators and controllers. Mission designers can't do anything about that.

What exactly is the difference, if any, between a character created as an AV, but "scaled down" to EB level, and a character created as an EB?
Purple Triangles of Doom, mostly.
And of course, the AV will be an AV if your team is big enough, while the EB will still be an EB.

Yes but could you DO that with an Assault Rifle/Dev character?
Unlikely without a Shivan and lots of inspirations, even then...
My opinion is that for non melees Player AVs are pretty much undoable without an ally. That said with a PROPER ally (and used properly) you can have some fun. A MM ally can make for a fun fight and if you are smart he will keep all the aggro off you.
What I prefer is an optional ally. Put him out there label mission as AV with optional ally. So if people want to solo they can otherwise they can get help. With a Boss ally my Dominator took down an actual (non-downgraded) AV but it was hard going.

You can't please everyone, so lets concentrate on me.
I'm curious as to what people consider a reasonably soloable AV (when downgraded to an EB of course). I'm currently working on a mid-level arc that contains two AVs, one standard and one custom. Of course I'm going to warn about them in the description, but I don't want to turn people off at the prospect of yet another super-overpowered custom AV.
I could solo them both with an SOd Claws/WP Scrapper at the bottom end of the arc's level range, set to Rugged, using two inspirations on one and three on the other--I consider that reasonably soloable. Would I then be justified in labeling my arc "reasonably soloable?"
Thoughts? What is "reasonably soloable?"
