Google Street View of the Hudson Hotel. It's the plain white building with the 2 rows of windows. [Edit] I guess the surrounding red brick building is part of it too.
Article about Good Units, a club at the basement of the hotel.
An older article about Good Units.

Playing as a buffer takes practice. Just like the people who can't handle the +run speed of SB need to spend time playing with Superspeed always on, eventually, you'll get the hang of it. In terms of buffing, you will either develop an internal timer so you'll feel when you've been idle too long and need to do another round of buffing or you'll subconsciously keep a count of how many other powers you can use in between buffing rounds.

Quote:Can you really be stating this as a generalization? What if these anecdotes were just coincidences where you happened to sell to fellow marketeers, farmers, power players, etc. who could afford to be too lazy or too rushed to bid creep?People want to pay more. You heard me correctly. They WANT to pay more. They may grouse a bit but it makes what they have a bit more special because they had to pay a hefty sum to get it. Never mind the fact that thousands of others also have it.
Why do I say this?
This past week I shifted a little away of crafting and selling generic IOs and picked up a few set IOs. Two of them were the Gaussian triple. I bought all of the salvage at pretty much buy it nao prices (less than 24 hours), crafted @ level 50, and posted for about 300,000 inf which is far below the actual cost to make them. One sold for 10m and the other for 11m and each took two days to sell.
I have also crafted and posted damage IOs at various levels and posted them for my cost plus 25% (market fees and the like) and have been paid as much as 1m inf for something that was posted at 75K inf. This happens time and time again.
They want to pay more. I know because they could be paying a lot less if they were to just to have a bit of patience. -
Someone ought to update Paragonwiki.

Quote:Back in the day when Sands of Mu was first given out as a Vet reward, I did a comparison with it against Flurry.Sands of Mu does WAY more damage than brawl does. Brawl will not kill a -1 minion, which Sands of Mu will at level 2.
I never wanted to pick up Flurry, but I finally had broke down and picked it up to add to Air Superiority and Char to get the last 3 levels to my Imps when I was soloing my Controller (pre-Containment). While it wasn't great, but it did help me out to such an extent that I had a lot of sentimental attachment to it. So much so that I kept Flurry in my build over a couple respecs even though I didn't use it anymore.
So when Sands of Mu became available, it was a non-event for me. It's description sounded and looked like Flurry. I think it was a Saturday morning when nothing much was going on on the server that I decided to claim it and check it out. I was in PI and went to pick on an even con Nemesis minion. My fully slotted out Flurry made a bearly noticible dent in his health bar. Then Sands of Mu took off over a third of his health bar. I couldn't believe it. I went around punching everything for a while. I never did so much damage before on this character on my own, ie without using my Imps. I ditched Flurry on my next respec. -
I considered doing this in the past, but eventually decided against it based on my own behavior as a competitor bidder. If I intend to bid on stacks of something and I see that there is already someone doing the same based on the multiple identical bids in the history, then I will set my bids to be the same price. Bidding more will just piss off the other guy and may lead to a bidding war which makes it more expensive for everyone, me in particular. Since I know that identical bids will have the wins distributed more or less randomly, I can be confident that I will get a share without being obvious that I'm cutting into the other guy's turf. That being said, if I had set up staggered bids, I'll be short changing myself if the other guy's bids never runs out at that particular price, ie if he refreshes his bids each day.

When you log in, you get a bunch of green System chat messages. One of these is a reminder of your global name. You can just highlight it to copy and paste.
-
I didn't know about the double clicking.
-
What do you mean? The chat channels they contain? And you're saying that you've already screwed up the Menu-->Options-->General-->Chat-->(load default button) by saving a bad version?
There's = /windowresetall , but I think that only affect the visual appearance of the window boxes.
If you really did screw up the chat channel save file, you may have to rebuild them from scratch, then re-save it to default. Which chat windows are you talking about in particular? -
What archetype were you trying to respec? I recall there used to be a bug with Kheldians where the Nova and Dwarf powers were available early for slotting. That is, if you slotted them before you actually picked them up, the respec would fail. I don't recall if this was fixed.

Something to keep in mind: the Axe's bonus damage is only for those enemies that if they tag you first, you'll receive a -tohit debuff to make the Axe's base accuracy suck that much more against them.
-
In the original henchmenless Mastermind rules, you are not allowed to team with regular players because there's too much of a grey area on whether you're being powerleveled. I can't recall exactly about teaming with another henchmenless MM, but I don't see a problem with it. Other than that, you're supposed to solo. I believe you can use any temp powers you pick up from a drop including those that summons pets because their summons are limited and you did do the work to get them.

I took the Undead Slaying Axe on 2 characters when it first came out and have deeply regretted it. So much so that I gave serious thoughts to rerolling them. I didn't because they both had multi-year anniversary badges. Since then, all my characters take Sands of Mu. When I hit 54 months Vet, I took the Sands on those 2 characters even though I didn't really need it anymore just so I could erase my earlier personal failure.

Quote:Did you try the Beyond Naked Mage variant? I got one up to level 18 or so before getting tired of it. I never did pick up any particularly "good" cursed items.I've always enjoyed the weakness in character.
For some reason when Diablo II came out, I had to make at least one Melee Mancer or One Melee sorcerer.

Masochism.
Nice post Misaligned. You hit it right on the head. -
Years ago when the concept of henchmenless Masterminds was first discussed, I made one. I picked Bots because I already had a high level Bots/Dark and was familiar with the set. My second choice would have been Necro. I passed on it because at the time I was burnt out with my Dark/Dark Defender and I always felt that the Dark attacks lacked visual Oomph.
It's challenging, but it's not carefree fun. While I had prior experience with soloing up a Controller pre-Containment using only 3 attacks (counting Brawl), it really takes a certain frame of mind to play this really low damage character.
In accordance to the original henchmenless Mastermind rules, I soloed my own missions. The prolonged fights and lack of endurance recovery made things very difficult and the missions took a long time. I am proud to say that I was able to take down an EB in one of the Port Oakes story arcs. I only broke the solo only rule 2-3 times during past holiday events to temporarily join a team to take down a GM for the badges.
Veteran reward powers weren't around when this started, but since then I have included my 3 vet attacks on occasion. While these sped up the fights and helped with tough bosses, their base accuracy sucked so they drained my endurance faster. Even the vet Buff Pet didn't help much. For the last couple of levels to Stamina, I street swept.
I don't play this character much, though. I might bring her out for a little while during a Double XP weekend. Mostly, I was marketeering with her in between Day Jobs. Here's the screenshot I took after I made my 1st Billion to join the Ebil Marketeers club. -
Quote:I'm already there. I do 4 pieces of Crushing Impact + a Mako quad and similarly, 4 pieces of Thunderstrike + a Devastation quad to get 75% Accuracy. I'll also try to slip in Sciroccos or Obliterations for the PBAOE. So on most of my builds, I'll have around +35-50 in accuracy set bonuses. And yet, if I can fit in the Leadership pool, I'll be taking Tactics on top of this.I guess I'm less interested in Tactics because I use set IOs.
Its pretty hard to not pick up global accuracy bonuses. Thunderstrike, Crushing Impact and Positrons are my default for attacks, mostly for other reasons, but all come with a side order of +Acc. And Thunderstrike and CI leave you with around 60% native accuracy in the power itself, so I'm happily hitting +3s with 95% accuarcy without Tactics.
If you're slotting SOs or generic IOs Tactics becomes much more valuable. -
Did they actually gain altitude or did they just zip away at ground level? I don't think they actually ever touch the ground, just like the Rularuu eyeballs. They'll fall, but there's always a gap between them and the ground.
-
Yeah, that's my thinking at the moment. The more I look at the specs, the more I'm distracted by the endless chase for non-obsolescence. I may wait for the next time Woot! has another batch of refurbs to unload and just accept that I'll be buying a disposable toy fairly cheaply.

Quote:I was Queynt. As usual, I had flipped to the forums during zoning so I wasn't paying attention. And when I came back, I went immediately to check my recipes inventory to see if I had snagged anything good (nope). When I looked back at the team for post-TF chit chat, I noticed that everyone was already gone except for an MM, which I guess was Demonic. I said see-yas to him as I took off for Bobcat to train, but he didn't respond. I didn't have the star, so after a bit, I quit the team. I don't know if he had crashed after exiting or was just afk to pee. I did receive the badge and Merits. There were six people on the team:
- Demonic.Anarchist (Mastermind)
- Meridian Pryme (Blaster)
- Queynt (Brute)
- Kriegstantz (Brute)
- Scarlet Evans (Corruptor)
- Bob the Biohazard (Mastermind)
I couldn't get in touch with Demonic.Anarchist after the fact, but I do have an idea. If they were a Rogue and they called Synapse after the Task Force before everyone exited the map, the Alignment mixture may have triggered a bug that reset the character status.
On-map or no, everyone on the team reported mapserving. -
I'm having the same problem. IE8 at work and Chrome at home. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. I could be fine for days, then suddenly I'm logged off 2-3 times during the same day. It wouldn't be much of a problem if I come into the forums logged off. What bugs me is that sometimes I'd spontaneously log off while going to the next page in a thread.

Quote:I see the newer model: Toshiba Satellite T215D-S1150. However, it's a bit pricey for something which I may not have substantial use for.Just buy this.

Personal experience: It's terrific. Just add another 2GB of RAM and you've got a nice porta-kit for COH.
