Apercu. For backside-kicking, Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger, but that seems to work nicely for her in general.
Sera. She'll join your century, but only for a rare occasion.
Bela Cielo's a hard one. She like paperwork, not being shot at and having nice samples pre-prepared to work with, not having to wander into rapidly freezing sewers to collect said samples. I guess, really, she's in over her head.
As for Doctor Mechano: Enough said
Don't really have a song for Myria. We'll see. -
One I'm quite fond of, from a sadly deleted alt. (Just didn't like the play style.)
Project TAU
I just like the helmet spikes. Going through my screenies folder, there's a proto-Ap with the same basic design from two years ago.
Apercu
As for my main, Serafine, well, costumes change regularly, but seem to have settled down for now.
Costume Variant #235664, one of my favourites. Much the same as it is now, really. (Wings, eyepatch, Vanguard boots, goggles etc. optional)
A new one, but a keeper, I think. There's something about cowboy hats + power armour.
Miriya -
Sera being Sera, I was tempted to use Girl Anachronism again, but that's more of a general theme. For thoughtful sketching and building at some unholy hour in the morning, one song rather leapt out.
Guided by Voices - I Am a Scientist
Especially due to her habit of never finishing anything. (It's the medication.)
As for Apercu, in honour of not being able to find an appropriate song for most of her daily business, here's one for Ap at GG. 4'33"- John Cage -

...What? I have an Elec/Elec/Elec and Shocking Bolt's one of my favourite powers both for looks and usage (No Tesla Cage. Heck, I cant even remember what that power's called). EMP was also handy on occasions, great when surrounded as it's essentially an off button for the bad guys.
This hurts my brain. What on God's green earth do we need Conserve Power for? -
It's Malta. If they did feel the need to use one, there'd be no fingerprints or paper trail, possibly you'd hear about a 'tragic malfunction in transit' or something though.
Whether they'd use them or not though, what's the chances of them *not* knowing where they keys are and what the codes are? That's what they do. -

Big laser satellites are worth zip against all the organisations you're talking about. Orbital lasers suffer excessive loss due to atmospheric interaction and would be close to useless against current threats.
I'd actually say it's more likely that SDI doesn't exist. The UN is clearly a stronger organisation in the game world (Vanguard), and it's possible that nuclear proliferation has been rather more nailed down than in our world.
[/ QUOTE ]
I was using the organisations as more an example of the higher tech-base rather than people to colony drop onto.
Actually, with the Rikti war, while those toys would be fun, chances are most of the money's not gone to 9000% defence budget increases. The UN certainly does appear to be somewhat bulked up, presumably as a result of the war. They'd be the only guys left with a real infrastructure, like the Vanguard were. Says something that they're nuclear armed of their own accord, and IIRC, the Shadow Shard Expedition's a UN expedition and that's seriously tooled up, and presumably well financed both for defence (Impervium doesn't come cheap) and reconstruction.
As for nuclear proliferation, I'd imagine they're seriously locked down due to the rampant brass-clad psychos, evil corporations, Vampire-Werewolf-Robot Nazis etc. Though Terra Volta seems fairly light on the whole security thing, given the number of attacks it gets.
We know the Russians have them and so does Vanguard, presumably most of the existing nuclear states are likewise armed. Rogue Isles appear to be, given the Warburg launcher, though you'd imagine some nasty, nasty repercussions. And heck, mad Science means nukes are so old-hat. I don't see many other villain groups with access nukes, but there's always Malta. -

To be fair most of that only really seems to happen in Paragon.
I always thought all the Heroes went to Paragon as a kind of way of letting the rest of the public get on with their normal lives!

Rikti invasions are world-wide at least. Due to them, Bush's popularity won't have suffered due to wars, due to the fact the only major one that happened was one started by Aliens, who did massive damage to all the world's military forces and a fair dent to the population.
At this point, it'd be Bush's leadership/survival during that point that would affect whether he gets re-elected in '04, considering that the bona-fide war hero McCain had already run in '00 and could be seen as a better choice at that time. (Plus, as Republicans go, he's fairly moderate, so would have a broad appeal).
On a side note, would be interesting to see the status of the SDI in this world, due to the higher tech-base (Moonbase, Crey, Malta, too many others to name)and the confirmed alien presence. Sometimes, you need big laser satellites to feel safe.
I like alternate histories. I could be a while here, so I'll stop now. -
Not that the issues would be quite the same in CoH universe. Can imagine that the credit crunch is due to the second rounds of Rikti invasions or something though.
It must be said that considering that we're dealing with a universe where Alien and undead invasions are commonplace, where brass-clad armies can march down to the White House any day, or crazed Nazis burst from the depths of wherever they're hiding, this is perhaps not the time for optimism, but instead a decorated war hero who's proved his mettle. Or something. -
Being Canadian and only partially connected to reality, Sera doesn't care overly, but would likely endorse Ackerman for his simple, easy to understand and appealing policies.
Apercu is barred from voting at least three times over (Isles citizen, felon, dead), but as far as she'd let an opinion be known, presumably Obama for at least being interesting. -
Uh, consider what'd happen if you did pulverise it. You'd still get half of the thing hitting the ground, but this time inside the ungodly shockwave of whatever you've set off. Which, given the size of the thing, would probably be a tactical nuke. BIG BADDA BOOM.
The fact it's flying though, implies the possibility of more flying. Up. Up is good. Or possibly left. -
It has different missions for each Origin. E.g. naturals get the Council, techies get the Clockies, mages get the hellions etc.
As for Villains, there's not that many different groups on Mercy. Just Snakes, Skulls/Hellions, R.I.P. and Arachnos, three of whom are magical in origin. -
Character: Sera
Level: 50
Available most weekdays from 7-ish to 10:30 ish, And sunday from 6-11 ish. -
Sera would undoubtedly be there, if the time's right. If I can get Ap into the WZ before it starts, all the better.
-
It must be said that in an all blaster team, my lv.50 has been both the main healer and the main melée at the same time. The only thing that draws aggro better than a good tank is a bad blaster. So having lots of spare blasters makes for lots of dead enemies and lots of technically surviving blasters.
I think I'm rambling, so I'll stop now. -
Note to self: Finish assignments, get back to levelleing Ap.
It certainly could be interesting building an entire team dedicated to finding needful things etcetera. Just need to bully Ap into accepting help. -
Strategic National Alliance For Unity, maybe? Very militaristic acronym.
And yeah, it sounds like it could be an interesting little idea. -

Much like your character would?

Naaaah. Hard to drink tea through a straw... -
Sera's a French Canadian, but I very rarely see the need to use French in conversation when playing her. Mainly because I know that my own grasp of French isn't stunning, and I'd rather not bug any actual francophones who happen to be listening in. About the only times she speaks any french is when talking to Jean-Luc, as it happens. Anything more technical, and I'd end up using the <French> technique. That or attack babelfish and blame any mistakes on Sera's iffy grasp of French grammar. (As she hasn't spoken it much in the last few years)
As for other people, I've never really had a huge problem with the odd word here and there, so long as the meaning's clear. Were someone to start an entire conversation in, say, mandarin, I'd likely glaze over and grab a cuppa. -
Yeah, Cadalbolg is the 'original', though wiki says that there's another irish legend that probably head it first.
-
If you're going to include Durandal, better add these two:
Joyeuse- The Sword of Charlemagne, allegedly containing a fragment of the Lance of Longnius in it's pommel. A sister sword to Durandal.
Currently held by: ? Formerly Charlemange. (Possibly still held by him)
Cortana/Curtana- 'Sword of Mercy' 'Of the same Temper and Steel as Durandal'
This blade has no tip, it being removed by an angel to prevent a wrongful killing.
Currently held by: ? Formerly Holger Danske.(Possibly still held by him)
---
Two too awesome not to include:
Caladbolg- The sword of Fergus mac Róich It was said to be a two-handed sword that made a circle like an arc of rainbow when swung, and to have the power to slice the tops off hills and take out several men.
Presently held by: ? ((Though I'm tempted to make a character with it.))
The Will of Heaven.
According to legend, the sword possessed magical power, which supposedly made the wielder grow very tall. When used, it grants the wielder the strength of a thousand men.
Currently held by: ? (Formerly Lê Thái T&#7893 -
Didn't you tell everyone last night that it's today?
-
I think that Red and Catz mean the 30/31st of December. The poster was issued by MiniTruth and must be taken with a grain of salt, or it will be doubleplusungood for the person reading it.
As a side note, I got Sera costumed up today. Be prepared, you know.
-
If I have enough inf, I'll give it a shot. Could be amusing.
-
...Wow. I love the 60 minutes notice I got there.
Anyhow, I'll see if I can get Magnus over there by 8:30. Due to the fact my PC has started crashing when zoning due to the mad trick-or-treaters, this may take some time.
