    Hash FAILURE!

I was having this problem also.

Disabling all my Norton anti-virus (auto-protect & vulnerability) resolved the problem and allowed the patch to complete.
  2. Thanks all!

I don't play very much any more, but I hopped on for a little bit this last week and this was a nice surprise to log on to.
  3. Well, I'll give it a try to get things started.

    Hopefully I'm doing it right.

    Help please.

Thank you. I wish the codex there had pictures or better descriptions on some stuff but oh well.

    I agree.

I haven't made any updates in a while, mainly because I'm thinking of moving everything whole hog onto the Paragon Wiki.

That'll open it up for other people to add anything I'm missing, add descriptions, add images, etc.
  6. Yeah, same story here. Don't remember opting out (though I might have for some odd reason), but wasn't set to get 'em.

    Fixed now, though.

So...is this going to cost me money?:P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Since it's being billed as the first expansion since CoV, then I think that you can take it as a given that it will be a new box that you will have to pay for; so yes, it will cost you money.
  8. It's really just a single battle vs. the Honoree, but if this is your idea of fun (that's one player at Challenge Level 1), you could try this one:

    Arc ID # 158569

The mission was meant to just be an intro to a longer arc (which I need a better story for and is just languishing currently) where you just click a single glowie and everything else is just "for show", so I deliberately made the Honoree with as many of the ugliest ambushes I could, intending it to be unsurvivable at AV level.
  9. All there is is the existing prison cells/defeat functionality the same as you'd encounter on a regular game arc.

There's no way to "force" a capture.

In general, I'd be surprised if most players would really enjoy a mission where they get defeated/captured with no way to avoid it. I'm sure Venture would have a few choice words to say about an arc like that.

One way they could do it that might be a bit less aggravating to a player is to have some maps where the mission entrance is actually inside a prison cell. That way you start the story from that point without actually requiring a player to fall into a trap and be defeated with no control (at least during the actual course of play).
  10. I played an arc (don't remember the name or anything) where the contact was a Russian and their dialogue included phrases using Cyrillic characters.

Nice to know I'm beating the deadline for making a video celebrating the 5th anniversary because MINE will go live on the actual anniversary.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    So, how's that comin'?
  12. Squeee!

My 1:00 PM staff meeting (which I otherwise would have had to be at) was just canceled!

I am so taking half-personal day this afternoon now.
  13. Very cool.

Also a little freaky that I'd just been thinking last week that it'd be nice if somebody made exactly this tool.

Arc updated to include a few more "historic references." If anyone has any more requests, let me know. I'm running out of space in the arc, but there's a little room left.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Note for Mod 08 and others, the following line is another suggestion for a historical reference to add to Hellguards arc, as solicited, and is not intended as a "reply of negation" or similar response:

  15. I'm having a lot of similar problems.

Some mobs end up as "All Custom Characters". In other missions, one mob will pick up the group name of a different custom critter group.

I've also had "standard" groups pick up the custom critter group name.

Quadruple-checked everything in the missions and everything is organized right there.

Tried re-doing groups and deleting and re-creating buggy groups. No joy. Something's borked. Fairly minor, yes, but borked.
  16. Fun stuff! Thanks for the nostalgia!

One more item (so I'm not bombarding you with in-game tells), there's a copy of a costume Ex Libris wore (at least once) here:

    http://home.roadrunner.com/~scuzzbopper/devs.html (at the bottom)

If you'd like to use that instead of the business suit.

    Mission Maps

Only the generic Cimeroran cave maps are available, none of the unique Cimeroran maps (at least at present).

There's a visual list of all the maps in the Unique category here that might help show you what's available: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Mission_...ct_Unique_Maps

EDIT: To give some further detail, there were additional maps available during the various stages of Beta (though I don't remember any of the ITF maps) that were removed because of various issues (often due to spawn placement and how that works with MA). I believe it was stated by the devs that the intention was to tweak this maps to make them compatible with MA, after which they would restore them to those available at some future date.

Whether or not that means they are also working on including all the maps, including ones that weren't available at any stage of Beta, I can only guess.

I would suspect the devs probably want to make the vast bulk of maps available, but might keep a few back so that there are still some unique elements you have to play the "regular" game to see. Another plausible scenario is that they will eventually make everything available over time, but that they will be included into MA on an on-going basis, both to give them the time to make the maps MA-compatible and also so there an on-going schedule of new content being added to MA.

I read it as: Okay, devs' balls in your court

God I need to get my mind out of the gutter.

If your mind leaves, what will mine do for company?
  19. I have just added another low level arc. This one is a 4-mission villainous arc intended for level 1-10.

    -----------------------------

Arc Name: Doctor Geist and the Scientific Method
    Arc ID: 111022
    Morality: Villainous
Description: Help Wanted: Research Assistant. Apply to Doctor Geist, Fort Cerberus , Mercy Island. Opportunities for advancement! Excitement guaranteed! Reasonable pay. Must love SCIENCE! (For Levels 1-10; TAGS: Lowbie/Humor/Mad Scientist/Story/LBMA/SFMA)
Estimated Time To Play: 45 - 60 minutes

    -----------------------------

Now is your chance to team up with Doctor Geist and help him achieve his REVENGE!

I tried to take all the constructive feedback I received on "The Other Heroes" (Arc 95788) and built this arc with all of that in mind right from the start, so if you liked "The Other Heroes", I think that this one is even better.

It's a little lighter on the comedy, but still mostly a humorous arc.

There is a defeat all on the 3rd mission, just to warn folks in advance, but it's a small map (and just a single floor, and a linear map) and I really think that it fits the story. Even with that I think the full arc only requires about ~45 minutes (depending on your class). 3 of the 4 missions are capped at level 10 but one doesn't have a level cap (because I didn't want to add something out-of-place to cap it), so if you're playing with a high-level character you'll only be auto-Sked for 3 of the 4 missions.
  20. I'm out-of-frame for the photo. *sniff*

But, gratz on 5 years, anyway!
  21. Thanks, PW!

Good points. I'll try to fix those issues you pointed out.

    Doh! on the USM.
  22. This is just speculation, but maybe the pedestrians conflict with the hostage/ally code somehow.

One of the things that's different about that map is that it has civilians wandering around.

Trying to remember if I ever saw a mission map that had both crazy civilians running around and an ally/hostage, and I can't think of any (though that might just be bad memory).
