Name by name, not by nature.
Seriously though, i suspect that this is a bit of meta-humor from the Devs. -
Quote:Did you already buy them? If you didn't and they've been removed from the store you'll have to unlock them on your characters using the traditional level 35+ route of running the ITF.The Roman costume unlock is nowhere to be found on the store, nor are the parts showing up in the character creator. I just watched Immortals last night and was intent on logging in today to use those pieces for the first time. Instead I found some weird scifi Olympian Guard set that I've not heard anyone mention.
The Olympian Guard set is a new costume set that came free with i22. For VIPs at least, not sure if Freemiums get access. -
Quote:...And..you expect them to NOT be a lil ticked off when their favourite set is gutted, just because it took the devs TWO years to work out that, hey, yes, CS was doing a tad too much damage?
Quote:But the way this looks, it's like their only goal was to make yet another set worthless in PvP.
So, seriously, Scrapper Kinetic Melee underperforms by a large margin every other melee set in PvP unless CS does far more damage than the formulas say it should?
Wow, that really does suck.
Here i was hoping it was just a bunch of over the top hyperbole by people who believe that everything has to be exaggerated or it will be totally ignored.
Has a minor itch on their ankle="MY FOOT ITCHES LIKE A THOUSAND BURNING WEASELS!" while screaming and writhing on the ground.
Is starting to feel like they'll need to use the bathroom sometime in the next hour="HEY! IF I DON'T GET TO USE THE BATHROOM IN THE NEXT TWO SECONDS MY BLADDER WILL EXPLODE AND KILL AN ENTIRE CITY IN PERU!!!" while throwing themselves against the car door and flailing their arms.
Oh, hey, neat. i'm starting to see the appeal of ludicrous hyperbole. -
Quote:The funny thing is that no one really minded the movement sounds, they mostly just thought the impact sound effects were too soft. So the Devs altered the movement sounds to sound like an airplane propeller in a sheet metal factory during a windstorm while keeping the impact noises the same. (Okay, i'm exaggerating about the movement noises a bit, but they did make them much louder while keeping the same hit sounds.)That would make me happy, the set really needs more weapon models. I was fine with the sound.

Quote:Sort of like how Niven's ringworld required stationkeeping thrusters to keep the star in the center. Without stabilizers a ringworld's orbit would fairly quickly shift until it brushed the star. Something Banks' Orbitals and Halo's Halos avoid by being smaller rings that orbit the star instead of being a ring around the star. For the moon, apparently if you work out the math it's actually relatively quick - about as long as it's been since the game launched, hence my 'we have a month left' comment. For satellites, though, it probably does take longer.
-
Quote:*huh* i thought a polar orbit was quite possible. After all, other satellites follow polar orbits. Then again i'm not enough of an expert on orbital mechanics to know why polar orbits are impossible for larger things like the moon. Still, it would take a wizard to casually change the orbit like that if it was recent. i always thought that the Primal Earth moon must've always been like that, at least for recorded history, since no mention of the odd orbit is made anywhere in game or in the lore.Indeed it does (or the reverse, I forget which). And as I pointed out the first time this was brought to my attention, it's not just physically inaccurate, it's physically *impossible*. If the moon had been magically teleported into a polar orbit at the launch of the game, we'd have about another month or so before it crashed into the earth.

Congratulations on the upcoming nuptials.
Hmmm, i would suggest level pacting a pair of alts as a symbolic gesture, but that's not currently an option. -
Honestly i've never seen the problem you describe in an actual iTrial. It's true i've seen the occasional call for specific ATs when a league is already heavily weighted towards a specific AT type, but i've never seen an AT excluded. Admittedly the only servers i've joined iTrials on are Champion, Justice, and Virtue. Although based on the other posts in this thread it seems like the only place this is a real issue is around the OP, which makes the solution obvious.

Ah, but how things will settle out among the larger playerbase has yet to be seen, and there are bugs from the beta that still need to be fixed. How well received the rate of progression for the new DA is viewed by the larger playerbase is another unknown. The new sets and content are nice of course, but since i like to team what really interests me is how other players will respond...
-
i don't know, the barrels of monkeys were an effective cautionary tale.
By expanding player options and game content each issue improves the game, but it's hard to evaluate how much better when the new issue has just launched and the fresh crop of bugs is waiting to be addressed.
Offhand i'd say it's interrobang better at this point. -
Quote:Wait, they sell purples for Paragon Points. *huh* i totally missed that.yes i can understand your frustration, you go on a misson hopping for a purple, you get temps, and not very good ones. and if you need a certain recipe you either have to pay the price in WW/bm or maybe spend real money tobuy at market.
geee a less trusting person would almost think they are doing it to get you to spend real cash. Sorry they would never do that. -

As always excellent work.
Very well edited and the music suits the theme.
Michelle never fails to impress with her trailers. -
i thought i'd read somewhere that ATOs were only slottable into primary and secondary sets.

My condolences. Take as much time as you need, there's no rush.

Quote:Broodcloud? Really? Right, now i have to find and read this novel out of morbid curiosity.Originally Posted by tanknation;4136423According to the City of Heroes novel [IThe Freedom Phalanx[/I], Elementar became one with the storm in 1978 while saving the city from the Broodcloud. (p. 108)
...
Broodcloud. Too many horrifying puns come to mind just from this name alone. -
Quote:Yeah, i think he's been told that multiple times... See, when some people decide to blame and/or hate a group for some perceived wrong it doesn't matter how many times they're told that the group has nothing to do with the thing that pissed them off. Hell, even if they refocus some of their vitriol on those actually culpable they'll still insist the first group is THAT WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL EVIL AND MUST BE DESTROYED regardless of all info to the contrary. A sort of cognitive inertia.FYI: The Marketing department is not responsible for the prices on the Market. The group that is responsible for the prices is the Business Management group, led by Ghost Falcon.
Marketing is tasked with taking the items and making them look attractive enough to buy. In other words, the market newsletters.
Again, I'm all for getting annoyed with the company for their mistakes. Just try to blame the right people. It tends to be more effective that way.
i call it "being a bit of a thick."
Still, at least he's not the twit who was in the last supah-sekrit closed beta that promptly started spamming the public boards with info from the beta because some goobers were loudly arguing about inaccurate speculations regarding what was in the beta. That was a truly remarkable level of dumb that makes this seem minor in comparison. -
Quote:Ooh, very nice.Just another quick update before I am out of here for a couple of days off to celebrate my Birthday (Friday) I'll be gone until Monday so please play nice and be good
Since so may asked I shrunk the back pack and you will be happy to know there is a version of the second back pack without the little pistons so 3 back packs will be available.
Thanks guys for the feedback and comments!
Also, happy birthday! -
Quote:He either ate too much lead-based paint as a child... or it was aliens.Seriously, this meme hits 4chan all the time, and for good reason. Those shows are ridiculous. RIDICULOUS.
Congratulations Melissa and Nate!
Wasn't Melissa already at the helm once already for a while? Welcome back to the wheel!
i'm now imagining City of Heroes as a wheeled battleship rolling across the Northwestern prairies making pirate sorties before returning to its lair in the Northern wastes.
Sort of like this...

Doc Buzzsaw has a certain rakish charm. (As in rake your eyes out with that semi-autonomous surgical pack.)

So far the set looks incredible. i really like how it's turning out, especially the awesomely retro headgear. Can't wait to see the weapons and other set pieces turn out. The helmet's exactly what i imagined, perhaps even better. Excellent.
The only very minor complaint i have is that the rocket packs look slightly too large to me. Although that's probably more to do with what i was expecting, since i can think of a number of concepts where the size works quite well. Depending on the thruster effects it might have a bit of a butt burner feel when in flight.
