The few times i went to the old wiki by mistake i somehow completely missed that it was actually being maintained. Many of the entries were outdated or inaccurate. Or is this a recent thing?

Reveal admittedly is awesome, and the vet attacks start unlocking early enough to actually be useful. It's still my opinion that any new vet rewards that grant useful powers should just be permanent versions of temp or craftable powers that are available to regular players. Which is something the vet attacks already are, and day jobs made the base teleporter available as an accolade power. i think there should be a reveal recipe or mission reward added with 5-10 charges as well.

By the way, i hope you're not totally serious about the "slap in the face" comment. That seems a little bit of an overreaction to me if you are.

Mostly i think the vet rewards are about right in utility. The ones that can't be acquired through other means are sort of neat without being overpowering, and at least the costume bits unlock relatively early on. (Okay, i find Reveal incredibly useful for solo paper and scanner missions, but i've already said that i think it should be made available to regular players in some fashion.)

Oh, i know, but it still seems to be a silly point to make at all, but that may just be me. i mean, it only takes a few hours to hit 14 on a decent team, but knowing that wouldn't help me sympathize with someone who complained that they can't take a travel power until they're over a quarter of the way through a character in terms of levels.
Still, it's obviously a concern with you, and i suppose i shouldn't be so cavalier just because i don't share it. My apologies.

Who would pay 70mils for this negative proc is beyond me.

So pool C/D means I need to do Gold roll below lvl 30 then?
Well, i didn't pay anywhere near that much for it, but then i put in bids at what i was willing to pay and then waited. In my case i used it to put a full set of Cloud Senses in Dark Servant.

It's tedious, it's immersion-breaking (what kind of an organisation has more bosses than subordinates?) and it takes a lot away from the confrontation with THE boss at the end.
i've had a few missions where nearly every spawn was 2-3 bosses. Nothing else, no minions, no lieutenants, just bosses. This has generally happened on teams of 4-6, but i'm pretty sure that's not the intended spawning behavior. It seems likely that spawning rules aren't working exactly as intended sometimes. Though it's a bit of work, tracking map, faction and spawning behavior would help to determine if something's bugged.
  8. Summary: You can build and play for uselessness, but the AT and powersets are almost completely irrelevant for doing that. The only relevant aspect to choosing AT and powersets is when there's a specific way you want be a failure and hindrance to teams.

Some sets are harder to use effectively, so in that regard they're relevant to how intentional you want your level of fail to be.

Easiest useless character: Use any AT. Do not use any powers besides Sprint and Brawl. Run ahead of team and brawl unaggroed mobs. As soon as mobs begin attacking run back to team. Repeat. Bonus points for shouting "heal me1!! while you do it.

Perhaps it even makes sense to be able to branch after having completed one of your earlier VEAT story arcs, as an example, to tie it to the back story.
24 may numerically be almost halfway to 50, but not in terms of actual playtime for me.

i honestly enjoy the VEAT branching mechanic as it currently stands.
To me the changeover at 24 is going from an enlisted grunt to receiving specialist training. You can opt to retain all your powers up to 24, but my Fortunata discarded the Widow Claws to focus on the psychic powers. (Somewhat ironically i'm going to be strapping the claws back on in my second build for Carnie hunting.)

Edit: Actually, i like the forced (but free) respec because i sell back all my enhancers for new ones. In that regard i'd prefer if it came at 22 instead of 24, but that's a purely game mechanic concern.
    • Received the MoLRSF badge.
    • Leveled a Blaster, Tanker, Warshade, Corruptor or Mastermind to 50. Most are only a few levels short, but still not 50.
    • Never unlocked Doc Buzzsaw.
    • Still missing most of the Ouroboros badges.
    • Haven't gotten the Field Crafter accolade.
    • Missing most of the AE badges as well.

Everything else i've generally done at least once on one character or another.

Sometimes an early contact is hoarding an introduction that your later contacts can't give because they want somebody, anybody, even you*, to talk to them. It can get lonely being a low level contact that few players talk to.

When did they change Strike (and Task) Forces to not require the whole team to be in the zone to start? i'm so used to 5+ years of having to have everyone in the zone to start a S/TF that i hadn't realized it was changed.

Anyway, i like most of your ideas. Adding new Strike Forces to cover the level gaps would be great. i'd even say that instead of making Silver Mantis SF accessible outside the computer just make another SF in the same level range.

Ah, i missed that in the later post. D'oh.

In any event my Storm combos have deliberately chosen immobilizes without a -KB component so that enemies were free to flop around in the Freezing Rain. But then i use Hurricane to push enemies back into patches when they try to run, not to send them flying elsewhere.

    None of the above.
When i "pimp out a toon" it's because i'm enjoying playing it and i look at the sets, i think about what i like about the toon, and then i start slotting for the bonuses that will increase what i enjoy most or reduce what i enjoy least.

  20. Most often it's brilliant questions like "which AT is the best?"
And yeah, instead of telling him the obvious truth based on our superior knowledge we go and ask pointless trivia like: "Best at doing what?" "What faction?" "What do you like doing?"
    Stupid stuff like that.

Uh, what knockback are you talking about? Dark Miasma has no KB powers, Dark Servant has no KB powers and neither does Ice Blast. However, Dark Servant does have an immobilize in Tenebrous Tentacles. (Which doesn't stop KB, but it is an immobilize.)

Where is this "so much KB" coming from, exactly?
