Quote:This. Spending hours killing 5,000 Rikti Monkeys, or anything else, doesn't require intelligence or make you smarter. In fact it would be easier to argue the opposite case.Oh, please. Pointless grinds didn't make anything "not dumb", so lessening them isn't "dumbing down" the game. All excessive grinds do is make the game tedious.
And I don't agree that they should have left the epics at 50 "for the sake of those who already had to get to 50". That's just selfish, elitist nonsense. -
Quote:Ah, someone else playing a spine/elec. Mine is currently halted at 28 as i build up a supply of level 28 set IOs and i find Quills+Lightning Field very useful for eliminating most of the minions as i focus on the bosses and lt.i use it on my spine/elec scrapper for the extra DoT
on a scrapper its definitly good for additional dmg if thats what your looking for
i do find elec a bit squishy against most enemy groups at level 28 compared to my other Scrappers, but most of that will be easy to fix once i resume leveling. -

The boat was where the star/waypoint was located? There is a ferry that takes you to another city zone, Port Oakes, but it will not take you to the mission map.
-
This is not the typical MMO. Unless it says something like "Defeat 20 Snakes", and usually specifies a zone to do it in, the mission actually takes place on an instanced map that has its entrance indicated on your map and compass if you click it in your missions tab. Got to the location of the star and there should be a manhole, door or similar entrance. Click it to enter.

Self Destruction is my default.
If i have a more relevant power available, such as a phase, i'll use that, but otherwise it's Self Destruction time. -
They do make all character models the same: collections of costume pieces attached to a skeleton. (More or less.) But since the majority of NPCs aren't built as character models it doesn't really solve anything. i wonder how much it would affect game performance if every NPC was built like a character instead of being a single model.

Generally the only powers i put on auto are Brawl on my low level Brutes, sometimes Follow Up on Claws users, mez protection clicks, and Hasten on alts that have several powers on long timers. i have occasionally put Divine Avalanche on auto for some fights. Mostly it's just mez protection clicks that i almost always put on auto. Even then in long fights my mez protection has occasionally dropped because i constantly had another attack queued even as the previous one is executing. Especially on my MA/SR Scrapper since almost all the attacks are single target.

Quote:Well, you know things like "The Cosmic Stube" do stuff like that....Possibly "the allmighty benevolent gods changed every member of the 5th Column to allegiance with the Council and erased the memory of the 5th from existence"

Cyberninja Kitsune, an illusion/TA Controller would be a perfect addition to the canon as a more levelheaded equivalent to Fusionette.
Her bio reads: How did I become a superhero? It's a loooong story involving dimension-hopping aliens who pretend to be nature spirits, a thermos of coffee, two rubberbands, a Victorian tea set and a misaligned particle accelerator. Really not all that interesting anyway. -

Quote:Amusingly enough, the Imperious TF doesn not involve the Council at all, but their mortal enemies, the 5th Column. The ones who had most of their organization subverted and stolen by the Nictus-affiliated Council. So of course they team up with the Nictus of ancient Rome in order to try to overcome the present day Nictus.
Actually, i don't find the special enemies that difficult on my Khelds, and they're just one more add to a spawn when playing other archetypes. The Shadow Cysts are a bit troublesome, but rarely a serious issue if i'm not low on inspirations when playing a squishy. Hell, the big boom when i destroy one tends to wipe out most of the enemies they were with.Quote:Arakhn and Requiem were with the 5th before the Council.
Nah, that wouldn't work at all. -
Quote:Yeah, just read that a little while ago.Ocho posted that Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are a part of GR, so you need that to play those. Pre-ordering unlocks them early for you, though. They might open them up a year down the road, but probably not for awhile, if at all.
The game is still worth playing with or without GR. -
i would as well. i don't know if i've ever played with the OP, but i always feel that the more players there are out there the better it is for the game and my enjoyment of it. Then again, one of my great pleasures is joining PuGs because of the sheer unpredictability of what i will encounter. i've found teams with awesome, skilled newbies, and teams with inept, clueless veterans. And vice versa.
The OP's subscription fees helping to fund further development is another plus, of course.

Quote:i hope you're not talking to me with this post since nothing i stated is taken from anywhere but the announcement i linked to that's in the announcements section. AFAIK that section is visible to everyone since it's where public announcements are made.First of all, don't openly flaunt breaking the EULA. Your post may come under the mod-stick for even discussing things like that.
Quote:You edited your post. Ultra mode is free, the new powersets (so far) are not.
i may be mistaken, but to me it read that those who pre-order will get access to the new sets early, and i admit i may be making an incorrect assumption when i stated that the sets will be available to all once GR launches simply because every powerset added to the standard ATs so far has been accessible by all players of those ATs.
It is possible that Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning will not be. There's also been no mention as to whether Electrical Control will be free to all or even in Issue 17 or Going Rogue, but i hope it makes it into one of them. -

Quote:Thanks to Lightfoot for at least coming CLOSE to addressing the OP's concerns.
The OP was not an "entitlement" whine - it was addressing a very real concern...Khelds "attract" a specific, potentially very deadly (personally & for a team) type of enemy.
This makes sense for people who've "mastered" the game by getting a toon to 50. They are (or should be), by the time they've reached 50, more than ready to deal with Voids/Quants/Nictus.
At level 20, some characters may NEVER EVEN HAVE SEEN a Void/Quant/Nictus, depending on their teaming habits.
OP brings up a real concern. Please READ MOAR and discuss the OP's ACTUAL CONCERNS, not your perceived "entitlement whine". -
Quote:From here:I was reading from a email I got from NCsoft. They said that the Going Rogue patch will be an extra charge. So I take it we will have to pay for that upgrade? Has the price been set yet? I would of assumed that since there are so many less players now on COH/COV that it would of been free. I have 2 accounts that I have managed for at least 47 months and 56 months. I been seeing so few players now that I was seriously considering retiring my accounts and moving on. I might even put my accounts on Ebay since I have around 25+ lvl 50s on them each. If it gets too expensive I may go the cheap route and stick with STO instead. That is fun at the moment and looks to be a decent game. If I could afford 3 accounts active per month I would stay. But I got to spend my money wisely nowadays. I will say this.....because I been with COH/COV since its inception ( beta ). I hold all MMO's accountable to a high level using COH as the standard. If they don't meet the basic standard that COH has set....I don't stick around after a couple hours. Even if it cost me a month lost.Quote:
City of Heroes Going Rogue (MSRP $29.99 USD)! You will also be able to get your hands on an exclusive item pack if you get the City of Heroes Going Rogue: Complete Collection (MSRP $39.99 USD), that will be available when Going Rogue releases in July!
Edit: Things like the new powersets in Issue 17 and the Ultra Mode grahical upgrade are not tied to the expansion and won't require buying it. The same thing applies for any content additions to the main game that come out at the same time as Going Rogue. The Devs like the players and... *checks hand* ...aren't stupid. -
CoT Oranbega maps have crystals that hurt only players and allies/pets.
The Eden Trial map has "water" that hurts only players and allies/pets.
Tyrant's lair has lava that hurts everything IIRC.
The Transcendence Trial map has lava that only hurts players and allies/pets.
The final map of the Cap au Diable SF has lava that only hurts players and allies/pets.
That's all i recall offhand. -
So you would catalog celebrity nipple shots out loud in a crowded room?
Well, no sillier than a party i went to where someone loaded ratemycameltoe on a computer in the kitchen and about half the people made a drinking game out of rating all the pictures. That and general raucous commentary. -
Quote:One does not necessitate the other.I suspect someone doesn't read the announcements very closely.
As others have pointed out, high end ATI cards can do water effects like that, but the screenshots are missing all the other chiaroscuro effects that were shown in the Ultra Mode demo at Hero Con.
So, pretty, but not as pretty as Ultra Mode, not by far. -
Quote:Keep in mind that the beta invite emails can sometimes be delayed or not received at all. i was actually invited into the closed beta for issue 16 but didn't see the email until shortly after it went open. Also, there are normally forums for the closed betas in the main forum list that are visible only to those who are invited. i would expect the current closed beta to have the same. i know the forums for the Issue 16 closed beta were still visible to me for several months afterward. If you didn't get an e-mail and you think you were supposed to, log into your NCSoft account and make sure your e-mail address is updated and verified so you'll get one next time.
In the meantime, hopefully you'll have access to it when you get home anyway. If not, then the only thing I can think of is that the original announcement meant 60+ Vets (at that time), and doesn't necessarily include newly 60+ vets.
*crosses fingers for you
So the two most likely ways to confirm being in the closed beta outside of getting the email would be seeing the forums for the beta and/or being able to log into test. Of course there's no guarantee that everyone who is eligible will be invited. The last time i checked my CoH account email i hadn't received a closed beta invite, but that was a few days ago. i'll check again when i get home. (Not that i'll be at liberty to say one way or the other if i do receive the invite.)

Generally it means that you won't notice any difference between using one card or using two in SLI mode.
