ah Mids, my all-time favourite 3rd party side-game for CoX
-
had an absolute nightmare today on my bot/dark running /x8 mishes. Even when spamming "goto defensive" macro right next to me, the bots would run back about halfway from their "must use melee" mode, then instantly run back into melee. They totally ignored the commands after about the 6th time - its borderline unplayable with large quantities of mobs.
Imo defensive mode is acting too aggressive/offensive. It should be set so that if a targetted mob runs out of range they immediately get removed from the pets aggro list, and not have the pet run off through swarms of other mobs to kill it. Thats not defense thats leroy lunacy -
This is the final build I use (after quite a few tweaks here and there) that includes a decent amount of recharge, recovery, and defense (with bubble):

Yup, also have the MS Wireless 5000 running on Win7 64, and zooming in and out is just painful - I've resorted to using the home/end keys to zoom.
This doesn't only effect CoH though, I have had the same problem in a few other games too, like Spellforce II for example -
WP's RttC is a lot weaker than the other primary taunt auras, and so therefore its quite difficult to maintain aggro in teams.

yay my 15 mins of fame!
made it the best SF ever! -

Quote:This should be part of all MMO EULA imo (and life EULA if it had 1)I have a question, why does a casual player have an inborn right, to be able to kit out a toon in the few hours a month they play, at the same level as someone who is willing to committ hundred of hours to a single toon to setup?
I agree they have the right to be able to acquire the gear, and if they spend the time and get a character to lvl 47+ or go along with a team of that level they too can get purple drops. So that is one point ticked off - can anyone get a drop of the purple receipes, indeed they can. They aren't only acquired in a particular location where you need a toon that you have dropped a lot of infl into survive the experience.
I openly admit i have a few toons that cost me a lot of inf and time to put together. I have a fire kin, a scrapper, widow, brutes, and a few others that cost me over several billion in inf to put together.
However, the fire kin I used initially for farming was wait for it.....
Set up initially with only standard IOs, as i used the toon more often at lvl 50 I started getting drops of receipes that I used to improve it and other toons. And slowly but surely I built up that toon and others, though putting in the time and effort that I felt they were worth based on what I found fun.
Some of my toons have a mixture of standard IOs, and even SOs, and due to the fact I don't play them enough to warrant spending lots on them that's all they'll likely ever have. But if someone needs some debuf or support in a team, I have them available, and I'll make use of them, and still have fun.
I've not brought anything off market, and I've not ever, nor will ever buy inf for real money. Ironically I've seen some people during the wrost of the AE era trying to copy my fire kin and go off and do just that, and strangely enough left the game shortly saying they were bored. When their fire kin went from no set bonuses to a war and peace of set bonuses practically over night, it was fairly obvious what they had done with it being only a new 50 and having no others.
If you don't earn something you don't value it, but the people unwillingly to work for it, will often say they have the right to have it anyway.
I'm sorry the world doesn't work that way, and there are lots of other sayings around for just the simple reason, that at some point you have to pay the piper, and thats the truth.
You want something, then put in the effort to get it, and stop complaining. -
Quote:This is very noticeable for me when zoning into missions on my MM - just a constant noise of bots clambering over each other trying to get in through the mission door when the loading screen appears.About this.. It seems like the shard you are currently on has trouble letting go these days. For several seconds after getting to the first screen, you can still hear what's going on around you. This wasn't the case before. By the time that screen came up, it was just silence while waiting for the next screen to start loading the new map. Now it seems to act like a curtain going down where you can still hear everything going on until you finally make it off the stage to a back room. lol
It's more noticeable at a train station where you can still hear the train pulling up and door opening.
The worst load times I've seen are going into missions and Bases where the instance needs to be created on the server first, but even just going between zones seems longer than it did before, if even slightly.
I'm guessing this may be related to the huge audio glitch that appears when I first load the game.
And yes I sometimes experience very long loading times when zoning. I've even had it where the screen flickers when zoning into a mission (same as the GUI flicker effect I get after long periods of playing), and I hear that I've entered the mission, but the loading screen is still up. I have to alt-tab out and back in to get the game to dump the loading screen. -
I remember The Hamidon Wars - it was spoons, party hats and jelly all over the place

IMO if you want to stick with the dp/fire/fire concept and still hit softcap, you could try as a hover blaster, and then aim for softcapping ranged def as opposed to S/L.
I've been tinkering around with a build for the last few months, trying to get a decent dmg + recharge rate as well as having softcap def, and this is what I came up with:

going out on a limb here and saying there won't be a "State the Obvious" badge
-
-
I guess one thing it could potentially do is reduce the number of children playing WoW drastically, if they went ahead with it.
-
I just uninstalled the previous version then installed the new ones - works fine
-
I also seem to be getting better fps, and no GUI flicker now when opening up windows (win7 Pro x64)
-
This might help: switch off the "peek at desktop" feature by r-clicking the "show desktop" button on the right of the taskbar (next to the date and time).
I used to have the same problem when playing certain games fullscreen, but turning this off seemd to fix it -
thanks for the heads up on that, gonna try these out as soon as I get home from work... so in about 45mins
-
Personally I would choose CJ over SoW. I didn't take SoW on my WP/DM - just slot for decent regen/hp and s/l softcap, and you should do fine imo.
-
range IOs can be slotted into the pet upgrades - for bots anyway - unsure about the others. Unsure if this actually helps increase the pets range, or just the range of the cast, or both though.
-
don't think there's any real need to 6 slot HoE, imo.
Is this build aimed at a tankermind/solo setup or a team build? If tankermind, I'd swap challenge for provoke and up the slottage; if team or solo I'd drop fighting pool and go for leadership.
this is the tankermind build I've been toying with:

other faves of mine: Battle of the Planets, Mr. Benn, and The Magic Roundabout
ps: 7zark7 was the love child of C3PO and R2D2 -
imo, I would drop petrifying gaze all together, as its only a single target hold, and replace it with maneuvers to give you and your pets/team the added defence.
Electric Fences is better slotted for immobilize, and works very well with tar patch - it also has the -kb element attached to it (just as a note)
I personally would 6 slot shadowfall and add a couple of def IOs in there too, as this will stack with maneuvers on your pets and increase their survivability a tad more
Here's a slight adjustment I made of your build, still using cheap sets and IOs:

Quote:3Ms - Manufactured Mainstream Music....when you sing? This is something that I've always noticed for years, but just thought to actually ask some foreigners.... when Brits, Aussies, and even some from a non-English speaking background sing, they often times "lose" their accent and "sound American".
Why is this? Do any of you know? Is it by accident, or is it planned? Do they "sound American" on purpose to sell more records in America, or is it just the way the voice changes when the sounds are elongated?
Some examples:
Heck even the RUSSIANS sound American when singing English: Tatu
And most of these people have pretty THICK accents when speaking...
So, can ANYONE answer to me why this happens?
in other words - awful
