  1. If I had to choose one of my own characters it would be Kwiturbitchin (and I'd obviously be working in a customer service role)

If I got to be a signature character I'd choose
    Leonard Calhoun

...or any other of 7,438 instances of this that I have read in various comic books. Gotta also give props to the thoroughly killed villains who don't stay dead, either.

And yes, I had some issues with the exact writing. Only goes to show that if you want a well-written tear-jerking death scene in CoH, lay out the bucks and get Troy Hickman on the case.

Yeps... for years we thought Phoenix really was Jean Grey (and even Scott Summers did) but turns out she was some kind of space alien goo simulacrum thing.

You'd craft one as a spare. Like a spare tire on a car. You could need it. I've had one run out on me before I knew about the other. 40k and I have a power just sitting on the shelf, there if I need it.

Ethereal Shift and Hyperphase are even more divergent than the flying tools here. Hyperphase is free for running a 2 minute patrol mish that can be run up to three times in your toon's career. Ethereal Shift is a crafted temp. ES gives you only five 30 second phase shifts where Hyperphase give you 30 minutes in 30 second chunks [60]. I keep both on my main scrapper, using ES until it's gone then changing to HP. Afterward, I'll go craft another.

Klatteja, if you think 40k is big money. Send me an email at @Postagulous and I'll send you 10m. But only if you craft a Jet Pack and get a Raptor.

you don't need to craft a spare just get the Day Job version

We've seen an increase in players since I17 went live. I'm hoping GR will continue that trend. The real question is this: How high will it be and what will NCSoft do to make the EU paying customers feel their £/e are being appreciated?

but the thing that really made me post.... I had two incidents recently

    1) NPC got stuck in a wall during a defeat all mission and I couldn't reach it
    2) Task force got hung up on a mission and wouldn't advance when we completed the mission (it gave us the same mission over again)

I'm used to things in the past, I'd open a ticket, wait around for nothing, then go off and do something else. (restart the tf or mission) Then I'd get an email a couple days later saying something like "We looked for you but you weren't online so we're marking the ticket Resolved" :/

Anyway, these two things that happened, I opened a ticket and seriously, a GM popped up in under 5 minutes and set things moving again /cheer

Re the TF if it happens again I believe that re-logging will solve it. It's a bug based on the mission thinking the leader has changed IIRC.
  7. It does make totally obsolete the purchaseable 30 day Jetpack power... but I've not seen one of those in game for MONTHS nor have I seen any mention of it. Maybe the best thing would be to make the 30 day purchase pack a permause like the other booster pack powers

I do want to point out as an aside, the EU community has a significant advantage of the NA community when it comes to in game titles and events. With the time differences that exist, it's much easier to do in game titles and events at peak concurrency on the EU servers than it is the NA servers. Hence the EU servers get events that start in their Prime Time, while the NA severs get events that usually fall slightly earlier in the evening.

I also don't have to work overtime to give out titles in the evening to EU players, so it makes it much easier to justify as a business decision.

  11. Food for thought, much appreciated

To clarify; I've traditionally blapped with Scarlet - she was my first toon and is my main and essentially the toon I learned to play with on the day. I've tried to avoid numbers - it allowed me a bit more leeway to experiment but I'd like to make her a lot tougher.

She flies because I prefer flight as a power to SJ, and also it fits her thematically. I'm thinking of building her for ranged Def rather than blapping and my question stemmed from a number of people asking why i'd not taken the fighting pool. Weave seems expensive - 2 powers plus 6 slots to get the best out of it.

I shall have to break the Mids out and look hard at combos... though I'm still getting to grips with it.

  13. used to have some fun with the "Shock Tactics Air Display Team" in Atlas... a team of players synched up and flying in formation and changing fly poses simultaneously

We almost got good at it
  14. Custom gold titles are very very rare - and would need to be approved by the Devs before hand - thus very very unlikely.

I'm actually the only person I know who got a custom gold title of Super DJ for the Hidden event!

  16. thanks for the answers guys

    here's my thinking:

I've taken Hover on Scarlet and 6 slotted for the range def bonus of LotG.

It seems to me I could junk Hover (or at least save 5 slots) and go for the fighting pool (I tend to blap anyhow) and thus improve my def? I'd have to juggle other powers but I'm not exactly a stand-off gunner.

Would that philosophy work across other ATs? I also play a lot of trollers - in fact I've got more 50 trollers than blasters as things stand.
  17. I'm trying to get a handle on the defence bonus of both powers - as someone who plays a few blaster variants it seems to me that any kind of defence bonus is valuable but I've been told recently that neither CJ nor Hover actually give much in the way of defence.

That said I've never been a numbers type of player - much preferring to go by the traditional "seat of pants" mode of playing - but I'm now getting into the numbers behind the game and I'm interested in knowing what the score is.
  18. I have an Ice/En blaster that is really effective. You could try that
  19. Sort the Roads out

Some road planning looks like it was done like an acid junkie. Roads that go nowhere and around and around for no reason - we also need GAS STATIONS for cars to fill up in. (There's some excellent arcs could come from that too, from a very simple "Hellions robbing the gas station" to "Council trying to cut off Paragon's fuel supply")

Stick it on a floating rock island on the opposite side of the club from the ski slope, and either make a portal leading to it, or a covered bridge.

    I heartily agree with this!
  21. Interesting responses, thanks peoples.

I generally reckon it takes a good 30+ levels to decide. I often decide when getting the Isolator (which I do on most toons) if I like the general feel but with 2 powers it's often not an easy call then.

Much of my decision making is how I "feel" about the toon. I've deleted technically competent toons, that worked well but with which I had no emotional connect. Conversely I've kept other toons that are pretty rubbish in game terms but conceptually sound - for example my PB who's languishing at lvl 15 but has an ace back story.
  22. I would love to see some more "period buildings" as in architectural styles from days gone bye. Many of Paragon's zones look like they were thrown up within 20 minutes of each other, despite the rich history of the game. Paragon City's been around for a long time but the buildings all seem pretty modern. Where is the mock Gothic architecture with gargoyles, or the Georgian styles?

I'd also like to see some more "european type districts - we get pretty close in Bloody Bay and some areas of the Isles but Paragon itself should have a nice cafe district in Atlas where people could congregate - a leisure/commercial district, wharves and restaurants and bars and the like... somewhere in IP, Talos or Founders Falls... a thriving city and there's nothing much like that around.
