    No More Tips?

I would say the availability of tip drops seems to be reduced. It takes a lot more to get them now than pre-I19

  3. For me the biggest issue with the MA is finding the good stuff amongst the dross and then finding a team to partake of it. It does seem that the MA is dead on its feet on Defiant at least - can't speak for other servers - but there seems to be a genuine lack of interest in it and plenty of other stuff happening.

That and then actually finding the good stuff.... that's a taskforce in itself.

The situation isn't black/white and your solution does not apply to all players in all circumstances.

For example I have to go afk often, at totally random intervals for random amounts of time. Sometimes I can team with the expectation of being to finish a couple of missions or a short TF, but most of the time i can't.

Rounding up the A-Team doesn't do you any good if you have to skip out at the mission door.

I've run into plenty of others who're in the same situation as myself.

I play on Triumph, I play on Freedom, I play on Virtue. Triumph is a great server with a fine community and I love it dearly. Freedom & Virtue present vastly more opportunities to team, as either a member or a leader.

More players > tighter communities when it comes to finding a team at 4am.

I'd rather fart poetry than speak the lifeless platitudes you deal in.

The simple fact is that this is an MMO... Massively Multi-Player Online Game - if it was a Massively Single Player game you'd maybe have a point. The basic premise is that it's a team game and if your schedule doesn't fit that then it sucks to be you.

As for your point that it's more players beat a tighter community - that's highly debatable: I've a friend who plays on Defiant despite being based in Vegas and she has no trouble picking up a team at 4am UK time.

No it really doesn't mean soloing. It means actually spending like 90 seconds finding a couple of people to help with a "Hey I'm struggling on X mission, can you help please?" - if you've got a server channel even easier.

Small servers mean tigher communities that will be happy to help cuz they either have or will have that mission you want to do.

You talk out of your tightest orifice plus you said "behooves"
  6. This game is about killing (defeating) stuff. It's about enjoying doing so. Rewards are extra.

Sure we all want to get to the end cuz that's human nature but ultimately you've achieved nothing except waste a couple of hours in a virtual environment that means jack outside of the game.

Enjoy it for what it is
  7. Sentinel is excellent and there's only one thing to say:

    "Respec'"

Like Scarlet Shocker, I have an E^3 that I need to respec, both to take advantage of the i19 changes, and to make him less "squishy". I've only recently started learning about IO Sets, and haven't gotten any Hammi-O's, Hydra-O'a, or Titan-O's yet. Or any 'Purples'.

Aside: I really wish that CoX had an "export" feature that would create a file you could then import directly into Mids.

I tend to play solo much more than I team, mainly due to my work schedule. Thus, when I face a mob, there are invariably less than 16, or even 10, of them -- limiting the usefulness of my AoEs.

I discussed my toon's lack of longevity ("squishiness") in fights with a fellow player I met at DragonCon. He suggested I try increasing Defense instead of Resistance (what I had been doing). Toward that end, I'm leaning toward replacing his 3 Legacy Fitness powers with Boxing/Tough/Weave, and replacing his Static Discharge (which has underwhelmed me so far) with Combat Jumping, and replacing Air Superiority with Hover.

A test build I did in Mids managed to get all of his defenses up to at least 18+ percent, with more than half being higher. I don't have a 'feel' for the numbers yet -- is that a decent/good/great amount of defense? But at the same time, I felt that I had 'Robbed Peter to pay Paul'. I felt that the build would be sub-par on damage, having using much of his slots on the defense powers.

Another question about the Electrical Mastery Epic Pool. It is not possible to take all 5 powers, so what criteria do others use to determine what one (or more) powers from that pool they do not take?

Sapping seems to be a futile ambition - mobs recover End so fast it is almost impossible to prevent them attacking and in PVP it's a complete waste of time. End mod is pointless as a form of attack but it can be used to recover endurance after using Thunderous blast for example, but that's as far as it goes.

PS love the Avatar... Fuddy Duddy if not mistaken?
  9. Yeah happy xmas to the lucky few who manage to snaffle one of these, but really as promotions go it's very weak and both exclusive and elitist.

How about a competition where every member of the community can have a chance of winning?
  10. Excellent news! I love quirky stuff like this. Good luck

Sadly I suspect this is true and that is a crying shame.

I think one of the big problems is that there's a constant hunt for "newness" that means existing lore and some great background gets abandoned in favour or adding some new element simply because it's new and therefore exciting.

There are a few stories that seem to have begun and left hanging while new stuff (usually involving an alternate dimension) gets introduced.

There are a myriad golden threads in this story but instead of being woven into a gorgeous tapestry seem to be developing into a knotted tangle of disappointment.

I think the problem for US (CoH) players is that over here we have baseball and american football... while outside of our borders there is Cricket and Football / Soccer. Tends to create quite a cultural disconnect, combined with marketing companies eager to toss world-wide onto sports (E.G., World Series, but last time I checked Japan wasn't exactly invited to participate, and they've got a pretty good baseball system).

Anyways, for those who are used to Baseball and look at Cricket with complete and absolute confusion (like me), David Morgan Mar has a pretty good write-up of Cricket when compared to Baseball: http://www.dangermouse.net/cricket/
Nice find - I've bookmarked that to show other American friends - cricket used to be as popular in the US as baseball til the turn of the 20th Century and there are big moves afoot to reintroduce it to the USA. It'll inevitably become globally much more popular very quickly because this year China stated its intention to become a Test playing nation within 10 years which will put cricket up there with soccer as global sports

Which means we could get a cricket bat as a club in game!
  16. It does seem very strange that skins replace existing assets within the game - that's odd and seems to go against Paragon Studio's regular culture to add to rather than replace.

I hope we don't lose skins as a result of this addition but I do like them
  17. Ok in retrospect I will say I don't think the arc to introduce us to Incarnates is actually very good in terms of vehicle or story - but most mandatory arcs, the Montague Castanella or the Invention arcs aren't brilliant either and this comes up a shade below them IMO but it's easy enough to do so is simply something to be endured rather than enjoyed.

The time zone difference kills us. I am afraid if this doesn't change then this is the end of my 6 year run with this game.

Instead of everything being boringly slow :|
It never felt like a bug and with the devs continued insistence on dumbing the game down and spoon feeding everyone it's an easy enough assumption to make that they'd aimed the mission at the least skilled players.

  22. Thanks to your feedback I've been playing in Mids and it occurred to me that I've maybe approached this from the wrong angle. One of the standout things from all those builds was that her damage is generally comparably with underwear: Pants.

So I've fiddled around and tried for a high damage build instead - the logic being that the quicker I help the team take down the object of our angst the better. The up side of this is the quicker they mobs are dealt with the less chance they get to hurt me. The downside is they still can

Take a mooch and feel free to comment.

  23. How do you ghost past a rikti drone if you only have the pool power invis? I've tried stealth and invisibility and with a stealth IO into the mix too but they always see me and hurt me bad.

Is there any way of getting past them if you're not a stalker/illusionist?
