Ok I'm typing this on the fly after a (semi) spontaneous tribute to a couple of well respected guys who we've grown to regard very highly within the European CoX family.
I'm not intending to rake over that again.
However in prepping for that event it became very apparent that there is nowhere for Heroes and Villains to meet at low level other than Pocket D, and that, frankly doesn't cut it any longer because of traffic, arena and the godawful same bloody tune that Zero keeps spamming ad infinitum
In short, there is nowhere for heroes and villains to meet early on, to forge alliances for the future, to plot, scheme, find your arch-nemesis (small "n", no plot here pls) and generally interact with your mate who's playing his new toon on the other side of you... maybe even a mission or two just to see where you're at at the very start.
I am NOT talking PVP here... leave that to the Arena and the level 5 stuff... I'm talking easy access low level meet and greet RP, Bravado, Shape of things to come type stuff.
the:
"Think you can have me bub?"
"No sweat, see you in 20 levels"
has its place but also as the CoX world meets increasingly global threats there's more and more justifcation for it. The Rikti are invading whenever they get the chance, the Circle will bring ruination on the world for the demon kings, Nemesis is a maverick of the highest water who'll probably blow the planet up just to prove CERN wrong, and Dr Vazhilok... well that's just yukky.
I would love to see a coop zone maybe very narrowly defined, say lvls 3-7 with an auto-exemp down for the high levels, WITH a proper meeting place with red and blue droids guarding it. Maybe a revamp of Boomtown lowered to that level with access points and some areas "off piste" so to speak for those who are prepared to chance their arm
Somewhere for the Galaxy Girl crew (and the rest of us) to meet.
Let's face it the only place Villains have comparable is Aeon City and that's way too tough to get to for lowbies in the most instnace so how about it people? -

I was there!
I couldn't stay until the end, but I kept listening.
When the Kerensky interview queued up, I must say that it was overwhelming.
It was an unforgettable event.
Thank you Riff.

Thankyou Saxtus for being there and to everyone else who turned up/listened in
It was great to see so many people turn up at such short notice to pay their respects.
Good show all of you and thanks for coming -

We all appreciate this, I should say, but just FYI - we'll be in the (real life) pub.
However, if you see (most likely) Sky Pirate, Speedstrike or Spectral Knight in-game on Union, then you should totally team with them and give them Inf. Err... because they're... great characters.

Well have a beer (or 5) for us whilst we stand around talking @£%& remembering the "good old days" or something then -

Damn Swissy, hope it gets fixed ASAP
And to think you're on the 17th floor too :O -
Ok guys we all know the sad news, so let's show a couple of members of the team how much they are appreciated.
Location: Test Server
Time: 6.00-7.30pm
Place: Atlas Park
Music World Radio will be streaming interviews recorded at Omega Sektor with Rockjaw & Kerensky interspersed with some rocking tunes to say farewell to some good buddies. So come on and /em holdtorch or /em dance3
You never know they might even turn up themselves, let's hope so huh?
So tune in to www.musicworldradio.com from 6pm and log into test and let's wish our friends well for the future. -
I can understand product being released with a bug or 2 if it's a free update, ie Issues etc, but to release something the punters actually pay for with a load of bugs in seems a bit rich.
I did try and purchase it last night but due to the systems being clunky (as per somebody else's thread) it failed. I will take that as an omen and save my hard earned
so in this instance NCNC: Fail -
I think VEAT cossies in general are pretty borked and it's put me off playing mine
-
I seem to be missing a couple of cossie items recently
small padded gloves
office beld (I think that was its name)
It's tough to give specifics because they are not items I use a lot,but when going for a civvy look the belt's important
I'm either
a) missing them entirely
b) they have been removed from the options
c) I have a bug
d) there's a global bug
any suggestions?
If a) where? -

Great post thanks for the giggle
I've sometimes thought exactly this myself, but I figure it this way - When you outlevel a zone you're more important than your average newbie hero. You take on something of the Avengers/JLA mantle and so it's falling to you to save the world, etc
But, there are plenty of Newbies hot on your heels and how can they get experience (not just XP) if you take out every wrong doer in the zone before they can. There are plenty of PPD/Longbow around the low lying areas, Galaxy, atlas etc. If you're on a "50 minutes to save the world" gig, stopping to mop up some skuls or hellions would be tactically very very wrong. Leave it to somebody else - as Obi Wan put it "we must do our job so they can do theirs"
If some little old lady gets wasted in the process... well at least there's a world left in which her grand kids can mourn her(ok overly cynical but you take my point I hope.)
As for the stuff left in the streets - there has to be some kind of team in Paragon that is funded by the various hero/city agencies to clean up the damage that villains, Giant Monsters and heroes do. Sure, the game engine doesn't support damage to the environment (except in bank missions) but there must be an extensive network of these guys, fixing buildings, cars, mailboxes. Just as there are all the cars and not a single filling station, it's a dev oversight, but doesn't mean it doesn't exist. So your grav troller leaves some junk about and 2 minutes later, the Man from Ikea comes and takes the stuff away - you'll see it in the bargain basement of your local Ikea store tomorrow, slightly damaged, a bit scorched and a massive £12.75 off of that £250 price tag. Hey, of course you only need three legs on that sofa!
Yes, and hitting an outcast in the face in front of his girl? Go for it! You're actually doing her a favour by demonstrating in a short sharp lesson the consequences of getting involved in illegal organisations. Her boyfriend new the score when he joined the Outcasts, but that didn't stop him. Maybe a takedown in front of his girl will show him that he can't rule the roost with his fists, so go get a proper job and take care of her. She'll learn very quickly that crime doesn't pay and so will join the ranks of the respected community. She could aspire to being a waitress in a burger joint, or telemarketer.

@Thunderspark. My main villian is a Rad Blast/Kin Corruptor. I had a really hard time leveling her up. But yep kinetics are amazing. I recommend you take Transference. Spamming transference can really slow down any ememies attacks if they don't have the end recovery to combat itcombined with siphon speed and you will soon be kicking some booty
I find Tankers really hard to play. I they just feel really slow to me.

I can haz elec/kin pls? -
I think I'll wait for the official announcement and then decide what bang for my buck I'm gonna get so to speak

Okay, so maybe it won't be an NCsoft organised event, but why in the world would that stop us, the Players? I assume everyone who went last year plans to go next year, so why don't we just all pile up there and make it a player-run event instead? We've been shown the way by the Community Team, it should be easy enough to follow in their footsteps as that very community.
What say you all?
[/ QUOTE ]
Well said that man!, If NCwest don't step up to the plate in supporting the EU community in at least the same capacity come April....I'm in.

Signed. I'm also close to Brum so can assist in coordinating -
Some interesting responses guys thanks
I have found HEATs to be tough to play but I guess my fave AT are blasters and trollers (at the time of writing I've got 6 lvl 50s, 3 blasters, a defender, a controller and a dominator - that should tell you something about my preferences.)
I struggle wiht mellee toons, running up to people and hitting them isn't for me, I much prefer to rain death from above from a distance. That's just my play style I guess, and tho HEATs do that,I've never really quite "tuned" into them
For me I have to feel some kind of affinity with the character, so often they have a back story, even if it's just in my head. That can make the difference. I'm thinking tho I should play a Sonic/Sonic just to see what it's about -
The opening cut scene in the Zig was funny in CoV... I'm a trained professional and I...
as is the Frostie cut scene. (as mentioned above)
The Skulls and the Hellions also have their moments of dialogue
And the estate Agent in Faultline... trying to flog some brand new apartments in a zone that's only just been rebuilt after massive earthquakes and with loads of Lost and Vazhilok roaming the streets... that's Ironic -
I've seen a couple of posts recently about how difficult this AT is or that combination of powers sets can be
Personally I've never got on with HEATs, Warshades and PBs... I can't get a feel for them but I've nver found a toon that's "unplayable" so I'm wondering what toons people feel is very difficult and why. -

Ah the wisdom of Nomolos
But actually to be serious for a moment, the sad fact of RJ and OS both moving on makes me wonder if there actually will be an OS event next year -
Incidentally there is a chest emblem of some kind of beetle, but that's not a bug
