Guys, whats all this talk of Procs? Never heard the term until recently, trying to get my lvl 43 Fort into a massive killing machine in PvP, but all I keep hearing is Proc this, and Proc that? Help would be appreciated, from a ill informed 33month Vet NOOB

A "proc" is an IO that has a percentage chance to "produce" an effect. So, for example:

Touch of Death: Chance for negative damage is a 15% chance for 71.8 damage. When it does the extra damage it will have "proc'd"

CoH PvP SG = SuperUnion - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
CoV PvP VG = Disruption - Co-Leader - Union/Freedom
Global = @Rent & @Rent.

Proc is actually short for Process.
Think it hails from the old MUD days. Where an item has a chance to process an effect on either you or the target.

Or something else altogether if you believe the Wiki link:

Note: Even though Positron refers to a Proc as a procedure, Proc is not an abbreviation for procedure. Proc actually stands for "Programmed Random Occurrence".
