Now invulnerability is kind of meh.
[/ QUOTE ]
I would call that an opinion.
In my experience, it's anything but meh. Willpower, however, is very boring to me since it means zero interaction. Then again, to each his own. -
To contradict my first own post, after intelligently reslotting my powers with only lv50 SOs and using a few more recharge slots, I find my attack chain to be much more efficient. I still took the dark pool for the hold and ST range damage for utility and so far, I have used them a few times.
-
This is something that I always wondered.
Suppose my friends and I, 6 people in all, start a random task force. Then, a few missions in, one of our friend has to leave. What will this friend see the next time he logs on if we completed the TF during his absence? Does he get any benefit? -
/Invul is very, very sweet with both. Not much to click, very reliable, easy to manage and make good use of.
/invul + parry/divine avalanche = tank on a budget. -
I am at complete loss then.
I cannot, for the love of me, pick an epic pool that looks interesting since they all imply redraw. I loved the Dark pool's ST Hold, it was nifty to use with sappers etc. The weapons pool is a joke, and the other one looks very boring. Conserve power might fix my end issues, but it will only do so for a minute and a half every 6 minutes, three if slotted to the max.
I currently am level 47, I have all the inv powers taken (love that powerset) and 7/9 powers from Katana, excluding taunt and gamblers cut. I have swift-health-stam, and that's it.
The fighting pool, I can't stand. Kills my end bar, not useful enough for a solo character. Leadership was fun, makes my DPS very happy, but kills my end bar in the longer fights.
What do to, what to pick? I never though this possible, but I am facing a point where I have too many power slots. Wanna trade one of my powers for three of your slots? :P
Any suggestions?
Edit: interesting typos. -
That's a good point, it's a good finisher, especially if the mob is running away.
-
That's the problem with me and crazy ideas like trying to build my second spec 15 mins after I just woke up. Crazy things happen.
Oh well, there's always my first spec. And I have a freespec that will soon be wasted when I15 comes out so, might as well use it. -
Hello everyone.
Having chosen the dark mastery pool with my Katana/Invul scrapper, I was wondering how badly would the redraw affect me if I picked the dark blast power. It looked like a nice elegant way to smoothen my attack chain and the -tohit is nothing to scoff at.
So how badly does redraw affect me? Is it very noticeable?
I am well aware that picking Hasten and selling my firstborn to allow the IOing necessary to turn my scrapper into a buzzsaw would make my attack chain viable sans darkblast, but let's say I want to give dark blast a try? -

can you use shield charge from hover? Gotta be on the ground?
[/ QUOTE ]
I cannot tell you how many times as an Electric melee brute that I've gotten annoyed that Lightning Rod wouldn't fire after I hit buildup because I had accidentally toggled my raptor pack. (I guess I'm not so observant)
I think shield charge works the same way. It would get really annoying to untoggle hover every time you wanted to use it.
[/ QUOTE ]
If it does, Mids sure doesn't say anything about it. -
[ QUOTE ]
There are a couple disadvantages: higher end cost and you need to put some slots in hover. The main thing is to make sure that none of your powers require you to be on the ground.
I have a few melee toons with hover. I don't see any real advantages compared with cj. As you said, it's a change from the jumping pool. I think the attack animation may look more interesting in the air. For mobs that can fly, you can melee them in the air like DragonBall, which is not something you'll see a lot in game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Awesomeness factor: that alone warrants a try.
I don't think that there are any ground obligatory attacks in DM or SD so I *should* be fine. The added DEF of CJ and Hover can`t hurt, and I just might give air supp a try too. Heck, I have so many characters, this one doesn't HAVE to be a cookie cutter model, so what if I take three powers from a pool. (Don't worry, I won`t take group fly)
-
I plan to take CJ as well eventually because it's awesomeness at such a low low cost. It's SJ I wanna avoid. More than 3/4th of my characters have it, I'd love a change of pace.
As for Air supp, wouldn't that seriously gimp my attack chain? I'm a DM brute, I have more ways to damage people than I need. -
Playing a DM/SD brute here and decided to make her fly, using hover to move around. Any reason not to do that? Blatant disadvantages?
-
I thought the architect was a queen?
I must have been misinformed. -
Thanks for the answer regarding Chillblain, I will give it a lot more attention in the future.
-
I have a Elec/Ice blaster, level 34, love her a lot.
I'd be curious to know what makes Chillblain such a good power. Maybe it's because it's almost 1am and I'm half asleep but, I just don't see it. -
I agree 100% with what Memphis_Bill said, and I'll add:
Hours worth of the same dull brown zones VS the bustling majesty of Steel Canyon and the awesome creepy feeling of Dark Astoria.
Travel in CoV? Why is EVERYTHING just a tiny little bit too high for me to jump over? Can't remember how many times I hit a dead end in Mercy and had to backtrack cause that chain link fence is just a bit too high. Convex architecture. Get super jump -> jump by a high wall, scale it, reach the top, realize it's convex, fall backdown, curse a bit, start your Raptor pack, wonder why you picked SJ anyways.
Has anyone ever used Super Speed in zones like Mercy, Port Oakes or Cap au Diable? heh.
Blueside. Thanks. -
Oh wow, nice reading, thanks for the links!
Now it's easy to see just how deeply my build makes no sense at all!
I'll try to make a new one as things go, I'll post it here later on, thanks guys! -
Thanks for the guides, I'll read that.
Personally, my damage, regen and resistances are fine to me, I don't really plan to solo AVs and all that big jazz. I'd like to plug my defense amd Psi hole as well as add a dash of end recovery on the side. -
Here's a little something I tried. Can someone please tell me if it even makes sense at all?
Would this cost me my firstborn to get?

Oh and btw, I'm not a fan of end crashes so I took unbreakable at 49 ONLY because I couldn't find anything else to pick. I don't like the fighting pool either. -
I do have Mids and I use it all the time, I just never figured there were IO sets in it.
A noob is I. -
Hey guys,
My scrapper hit 47 yesterday, it'll soon be time to celebrate my first 50 ever, and that scrapper is at least 4 years old!
I'm going to try my hand at those infamous IOs but I'm a bit confused. Besides what I can find on WW, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding what sets are most adequate to me.
I'd like to know if there are some good guides/tutorials here, but I don't want to end up reading something that takes me by the hand, telling me what's a TO, DO, SO, what's a set, what are set bonuses etc. I already know that.
What I need is something like "So, you play a Kat/Inv scrapper? Here's how to determine what sets you should aim for."
That, or a build would work
Thanks! Looking forward to not be clueless anymore! -
I didn't mean to attack the poster, his enthusiasm seemed genuine enough.
This appeared to be unintentional trolling, if there is such a thing.
Anyways, what the other guys said. I've been playing more scrappers than I can remember and only once I tried the infamous AE farms to boost my newest scrapper from 10 to 22 and it took me a good half hour to figure out how not to endanger the rest of my group by playing without experience.
I dread seeing what it would be like to try a level 50 without leveling it first. Not pretty. -

"Eye strain and carpal tunnel, gotta love watch duty." -
I've seen people slot procs on Stamina. How the heck does that work?
