Question about Procs

Hello,

I'm still unsure about the activation of Damage procs in certain situations. I read the Guide written by Natsuki, but still something confuses me:

What about, say, a Damage Proc on an Acid Mortar. Would it check individually for each enemy, at each shot (since it has a separate To Hit check for each enemy affected) ou would it follow the 10-second rule?

And what about the Build Up Proc? Does it work? I have one in my Domi, in a quick recharging power, and I'm pretty sure I'm yet to see it activate. Does it buff you like a regular Build Up, with the icon indicating the buff, or is it another variation of this effect?

Thanks for the help.

The Build up proc lists itself under "Healing Received" I think - which you might need to add to a chat tab.

and a proc in acid mortar should check against EACH target separately each time it fires.

In a toggle or rain-type AoE, it would be each target separately every 10 seconds.

Great, thanks for the quick answer.

Just to bury this once and for all, what about multiple Damage Procs on each a power? Do they interfere with one another or each is checked separately within their activation parameters?

e.g. Rain of Fire with 3 Damage Procs. I'll get 1 chance for each one of the 3 every 10 seconds, per target?

Thanks.

Right. The presence of a proc does not interfere with other procs. You could get one firing, or two firing, or all three -- each makes its own check and the results of other checks don't matter.

I've seen people slot procs on Stamina. How the heck does that work?

You can check for procs in things like acid mortar by watching the "Pet Damage Inflicted" chat channel. It appears as "Bonus" damage. Similarly, procs in pets would e on their respective Pet channel, like "Chance for Recharge Slow" in Dark Servant or Tar Patch would be in "Pet Healing Received" chat channel.

As mentioned, chance for Build Up is under "Healing Received", as is Chance for Hold [in case one hold isn't magnitude enough for what you hit, you won't see the Tesla cage effect but know that it is indeed proc'ing]

They check every... I want to say 10 seconds, and fire off.

Correct - any proc or proc-like IO (The 120's) will check every 10 seconds in any ongoing power, be it a rain/drop like Rain of Fire, toggle like Death Shroud, or an auto-power like Health or Stamina for it's chance (or certainty) of activating.

Many thanks. All my doubts are cleared. Now, slotting forsooth!

Rule of thumb for procs is simple. Procs have a chang\ce to fire upon power activation and then every 10 seconds the power continues. It's as simple as that. It doesn't matter what type of power the Proc is in.

Excellent, thank you very much.
