  1. I'm going to play the price is right and guess some where around 60%! Did I go over Bob?
  2. I am trying to figure out how long it will take for me to run out of endurance for my super secret dark/shield build but I cannot figure how for the life of me the calculations behind them. I've search high and low for a thread specifically for it but alas even my search fu has its bounds .

I will be using Smite > MG -> SL -> Smite -> SM as my attack chain and currently I have an end rec of 3.64 end/s and end use 1.52 end/s

    Thanks for the enlightenment

    Santo
  3. Kinetic/Shield should in theory out perform Dark/Shield in ST DPS. It also acts as a nice damage debuffer and to throw another hat trick in the ring most AVs do not resist damage debuffing so while it may not have the same level of survivability as Dark does it does pretty well. I'm still toying with the idea of making one but I already have a shield character and I might be making a GM solo-er here soon with a controller.

    • For 81 months in City of Heroes you will also earn a power called Return to Battle that will revive your character with full health and endurance as well as granting you large inspiration buffs. However, it has a very long cooldown time.

    • Loyal Customer: 84 Month Veteran Badge

    • In addition to the badge, for 7 years in City of Heroes you will be able to remote access the Auction Houses with the slash command /auctionhouse and gain an additional Character Slot.
Dang...... I have to wait till May to get my 81 badge and I am REALLY looking forward to August to get my 84 badge, that new power is the bee's knees.

If you're me, you skip defense entirely in your primary build, and crank damage and recharge to 140% with hasten up at all times, get your self rez on a short timer, use your holds and scare the crap out of other players when you decide to rip. Personally, defeat is only a speed bump. Soft cap defense is for soloing EBs and I don't do that much.
Soft cap defense is for soloing at x8 as well. Which I do a lot of
  10. But I've been off them for a week, I'm going to my IA(Insperationlics Anonymous) meetings and its been helping!

(If these are not called "'Zilla Feet" in the costume options, there is no justice in this world.)

Obviously, these teasers are doing a lot to get hopes up and speculation roaring. Knowing that there's no way that all of these will be in any given booster, here are my hopes for included pieces and goodies

    - A 'Stripe' pattern for the Bushy Tail

    - A 'Stripe' pattern for the bushy tail. I have a racoon character, and a good friend has a ferret character that could use this.

    - Stripes for the cat tail.

    - A curling 'Squirrel' tail.

    - A rodent head, preferrably with big cheek pouches.

    - Rounded 'retracted' style hand models that look like a cat's paw without the claws extended.

    - A leonine mane

    - An 'All fours' pose emote that would allow a character to drop into a digitigrade quadrapedal stance.

    - An 'On the Hunt' run pose power that allows a character to run in a digitigrade quadrapedial fashion.

    - A 'Dry Off' emote, which causes the character to shake rythmically.

    - A Texture Compositor build in to the costume editor to allow characters to 'paint their own stripes.'

    - A 'Go Fetch' emote that throws randomly a bone, a stick, or a frisbee

    - And heres the big one that would more or less allow super animals to exist as a new 'Gender' in CoH -- A new quadroped animal body type.

So, yeah. Your guess is is good as mine on when any of this would ever be implimented. What hopes and speculation do you guys have for the pack?
I already gave my dog her booster shot why would I want to give her another one? *rimshot*

But if you can trade only a few decimal points of defense for significantly better endurance management, I agree that would be worth it, at least to me.
I HATE using Inspirations lol. It makes me sound like a snob but honestly it almost pains me at times to use them lol.
  14. I will always take both, it is infinitely useful to have both when mezzed. Both powers can almost be chained when mezzed.
  15. Does anyone have any ideas for I19? I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do with this character. I've got S/L defense and I am NOT happy with it to say the least. His survivability is meh at best.

I really like the ideas behind this build but not sure about some of the slotting I'll post up a version of that build but thank you!
  17. That is interesting, I'll have to take a closer look at it when I can, but I like that build.
  18. David your endurance usage brings me pain lol. I'm going to figure a way to go through and lower it, more than likely you'll take a few decimal percentages of defense but I think the trade off will be more beneficial.
  19. As the title says, I am offering 1 billion INF per enhancement if you have any please let me know. PMing is the fastest way to get in contact with me. I will more than likely check this thread once everyone two days.

So it triggered an idea of Friday Appreciation Day and what it is about City of Heroes I’m grateful for. So, being a positive sort of woman, and trying to be more pro-active about letting people know what I admire, appreciate or value about them as part of my New Year’s Resolution, I thought I’d start this thread.

So this #FAD could go the way of Bass Mouth Billy and Chia Pets or it could pick up steam and give you guys an opportunity to tell each other something that will make you guys feel – well – appreciated. It could be that you met your wife playing City of Heroes, or you love your Supergroup, or you were having a really bad day and read some freaking hysterical NPC dialogue that turned it around for you, or you love to fly and CoH let you do it for the first time. Truly, ideas and impressions are up to you guys.

I only have a few requests and I hope that you honour them.

    • Keep it positive and be sincere
    • Don’t hijack this thread to hop on a soap box about a non-related issue that picks you

That’s about it, actually. I like to keep things simple!

So I’m going to start us off, and you’ll notice that my appreciations aren’t just about the game, but about all different aspects of City of Heroes from NCsoft to coworkers to the players.

    *cracks knuckles*

Okay, here I go. Don’t feel like you have to compete with me, as we all know, I’m a talker! One or two would probably suffice! But, since I instigated this craziness, I’m going to dig deep into several years of memories.

I appreciate / am thankful for / like the fact that / love / find enjoyment in:

    • Being hired on this project in the first place; as a part-time office manager I just wanted to be part of something special, even if it was to file papers or clean out waste bins
    • Having a job that allows me to take care of my family
    • Having the opportunity to do something creative and exciting
    • Knowing that what I do in the game makes people smile, even if it’s just to read some silly dialogue or find an easter egg
    • The friendships I’ve made over the last (nearly) 9 years of developing City of Heroes
    • The support from Real World Hero who promoted not only the MS Walk I participated in, but the Susan G. Komen 3 Days for the Cure walk as well (and, of course, everyone who donated so that I could participate!)
    • The gifts that players have sent me over the years because they’re so kind (amazingly gorgeous rock formations, a scarf, brownies, Ascendant O’s, letters, chocolate, cookies (even Italian cookies!), gift baskets, Valentines (even if they were – technically – just to War Witch the character, not the dev), etc.
    • Meet and Greets and Conventions where I’ve had the blessing to meet you guys, so I could encounter the real person behind the avatar or forum name
    • The first time I ever loaded the game (being so used to fantasy) and standing in a real city and then, oh my gosh, FLYING
    • The pranks we’ve played on each other over the years, even the early ones, where I’ve been punked several times from Oreo toothpaste cookies, electro-shock pens, Tootsie Roll shenanigans, and Bertie Bot barf-flavored jelly beans
    • The wonderful company events the work has provided over the years from parties to celebrations to contests – just to keep us employees happy (my other jobs never did that!)
    • Double monitors – where else would I get to have TWO (I never thought I needed two massive monitors until I actually got them)
    • Special friends I’ve met in the game who have touched my heart – they know who they are (you are sweet and courageous and wonderful, each of you)
    • Seeing City of Heroes on the shelves for the first time and every box since!
    • Rikti Beta where I got to attack all our beta testers as a Rikti! That was super fun. They took it all in stride!
    • Spending time with players in game with them never knowing who I am
    • Laughing out loud as I read the Ascendant dialogue with Saul on the other end of the line – sheer brilliance
    • The wonderful videos that players have put together using City of Heroes as a backdrop (Samuraiko – I bow to your skillz, too!)
    • The stories about how City of Heroes has helped people through hard times

Ok, I could see myself going on for a few more pages here, so I’m going to cut myself off. But you get the idea!

Have fun! It’s Friday Appreciation Day! (By the way, this works outside of the game, too, so tell your neighbor, your co-worker, your mailman just what you appreciate about them. You'll make their day.)
