As Hopeling said, there really isn't any reason for Brutes to be missing Ice other than "They haven't gotten to it yet."
The devs have said that eventually, all sets will be proliferated to all ATs that it makes sense to have them. That means that ultimately, all four Melee ATs should have the same choices. However, as things stand, I believe Brutes have more Offensive sets than any of the other three, and more Defensive sets than Scrapper or Stalker, and are either tied or one apart from Tankers. Since Brutes are further ahead than the other ATs, I think that the others are going to see more proliferation sooner than Brutes.
Also, something Synapse said a while ago made it sound (to me, at least) like Martial Arts is likely to be the next proliferated set for Brutes. -
Huh. You're right. Most powers (at least, most that I've used) that grant -Recharge resistance also grant -Speed resistance. I didn't check; I just assumed it followed suit. City of Data agrees with you though.
-
I solo most of the time. My main is a BS/Shield scrapper, and I would never consider skipping Grant Cover. However, I will turn it off to save endurance if I'm not facing anything with -defense, -speed or -recharge.
-
OK, every temp travel power I have ever checked - It's possible that there are some that aren't on the list, but I have used several with no issue while locked out of temp powers.
I've never tried the flight power from Praetorian Hami, or the Nictus Teleport from that low-level redside mission though. :P -
Quote:The game decides which three NPCs (or groups of NPCs) come to visit you before you have a chance to decide Hero or Villain. They may (and probably do) vary based on whether you do the Resistance or Loyalist portal mission. That's what you get for sending your Power Loyalist blueside. If you send him redside, Reese is nowhere to be seen, so for all intents and purposes, he's dead.
In fact, the first time I bumped into Reese while leaving Praetoria, it was on a blaster that went to the redside. -
Sure it did.
Power Boost effected an increase in the buffs of my other powers.
Yeah, he used it wrong. But "effect" is a verb, just like "affect" is a noun. -
That's not a disagreement, it's just a different way of saying the same thing - the animations would have to be redone (As Clockwork O1 said), because leaving them unchanged will make Bad Things⢠happen (As I said, based on what had been said by BAB in regards to Walk).

Quote:If all you use it for is vertical movement, then the Steam Jump would have been a far better choice. It gives 30 seconds of unlimited vertical movement, and recharges in 30 seconds, so it's very rare that you need it before it's recharged. It doesn't detoggle you or prevent the use of any powers, and it costs 200 points, instead of the carpet's 600.I have 8 toggles, and I use Super Speed only for travel. I use it just to hop huge walls or get around flying favored cities, but I mostly use them to "hop" on and off. if I have to turn on 8 toggles every time, not worth it. I don't mind losing my powers while its in use, but to have to return everything on? total waste

It was changed to the handclap so that they could remove the "Must be on the ground" requirement. You can now activate it while flying.
They also tweaked the "Ball of light" godmode (sorry, I forget the name) so that you don't transform when using it, and they tweaked its recharge and duration. You can now make it permanent, just like a Warshade's godmode. -
Quote:Except... I had an enemy targeted, and got instant redraw. If you're pressing the attack button and getting an "Out of Range" popup, you have an enemy selected. You must not have an enemy selected to take advantage of insta-redraw. Otherwise, the weapon will simply be redrawn, even when in range of the enemy.
The way it actually works is this: If you do something that causes you to draw a weapon, but aren't actually attacking (enemy blocked, out of range, etc), then the weapon is put into your hand without rooting. If you aren't currently doing any other animations, the weapon draw animation plays, otherwise, the weapon just appears. If the attack is valid at the moment you press the button, then you root and play the weapon draw animation before attacking.
You aren't actually speeding anything up, and as Ultimus said, you're probably slowing down your attack chain and lowering your DPS. -
The Flying Carpet, Rocket Board, Coyote and Panther Travel powers, plus any others that force a form change or specific stance (current or future), all turn off all your toggles, suppress or cancel existing powers and effects on you, and prevent the activation of any other powers while the travel power is in effect*. This is working as intended. It is done because the animations and effects of other powers active while using the can make odd things happen while using these powers.
*Powers granted by the travel power, such as Panther Stealth, are still permitted.
While it's absent from the short description, this is explicitly stated in the long description. If you don't know exactly what you're buying, you should always check the long description before purchasing.

Quote:The best one was when the final attack on him did KB, and he was hurled off the edge of the tower. Reese-flavour Street-Pizza**** SPOILER ALERT ****
It's too bad that you can't kill Reese. Even if you beat him senseless and leave him in the middle of a building that you blow to bits, he still miraculously survives. In fact, the only choices you have concerning Reese are to either let him live to continue his douchebaggery, or to try to kill him and have him pop up as you leave Praetoria so that he can say "Hey, I know you hate me, and tried to kill me, but I'm a good guy now, so you aren't allowed to try again."
Personally, I don't give a crap about his personal epiphany. He's a jerk and a murderer, and has long since given up any second chances he may have once deserved. Having him show up and forcing me to forgive him - at least enough to let him live - was the singular most aggravating thing forced down my throat in Praetoria.
**** END SPOILERS **** -
Quote:I regularly use a bind that targets an enemy and follows them, and I usually queue my attacks as I'm approaching an enemy and this didn't sound right to me, so I tested just now.I'll begin with a description of how redraw behaves based on whether an enemy is selected or not.
When an enemy is selected and your weapon is sheathed, activating a weapon attack power will play a rooting redraw animation, then the actual attack animation. Nothing can interrupt this redraw animation time.
When there is no enemy selected and your weapon is sheathed, clicking on a targeted weapon attack power (i.e., Snap Shot or Gambler's Cut) will play the redraw animation, but this animation doesn't root you. In fact, if you're moving as you click on a targeted weapon attack power with no enemy selected, the weapon will instantly appear in your hand.
I hit Esc twice, to make sure my weapon was sheathed, found a group of enemies, positioned myself about a block away, and hit my "Target and Follow" button. Once I was moving, I hit an attack. On pressing the attack button, I got the "Out of Range" popup. Once the popup vanished (about a half second later), my weapon appeared in my hand, with no rooting or redraw. When I got to the enemy, the queued attack fired, with no delay, just as it should.
I haven't tested extensively, but whether or not you have anything targeted should have no bearing whatsoever on redraw. -

Actually, that would probably see you wind up in Hospital... -
There WAS a post from a redname; I think it was Positron.
The basic gist of the post was: "There is no limit. Well, technically there is, so that we aren't wasting storage space reserving unlimited storage space for every account in existence. But if anyone ever gets close to that limit, the system is set up to let us know, and we'll increase the limit." -
Quote:Before you panic about this difference, note that in i24, all IO procs will be changing to a PPM version just like the SBEs. Synapse is currently doing a lot of tweaking and testing to make sure that the change isn't a significant nerf to either version of the procs (and in many cases, the math he showed was an overall BUFF to most players with a minor nerf to some). Once i24 hits Beta, you should be able to log in there and see exactly what the changes are.If you're using a standard IO then the chance is 20% as listed.
If you're using a Store Bought Enhancement it is lower. I believe it's a 3 PPM proc (I don't have any). So in a power with an Area of Effect that is a 30' sphere, has an 8s Base Recharge, and a 1.67s Cast the proc chance would be 8.8%. -
Yep. That was bugged and reported on the Test forums before that patch went Live, and on the Live forums after it went Live, and has been mentioned a few times since then. For some reason, text errors like that in long descriptions are often considered low priority, even though a LOT of players never look at the real numbers and combat attributes, and just go by the paragraph that shows up on the character creation/level up screen.

All travel powers are available during Trials and Master runs, including non-purchased temp ones like the Raptor Pack and Zero-G Pack, unless you also set the "No Travel Powers" option.

Quote:In the case of powers in Primaries and Secondaries (For example, Oppressive Gloom in Dark Armor and a couple different Epic sets), you are right. There is a different version for each AT.Do they? I thought that powers with per-AT variations were done by giving that AT a separate power with the same name.
In the case of powers that are available to EVERY AT, like Pools, Temps and Incarnate Abilities, everyone gets the same power. The fact that there are Pool powers that benefit from Containment (and possibly some other AT Inherents) should have clued me in to the fact that powers can indeed check your AT.
Edit: Yeah, what Tyler said. Didn't even notice that he had already commented on this until after I posted. -
Quote:Power Boost has not affected Knockback since May 20th, 2008, and therefore will not boost Acrobatics either.yes it is intentional that portion can be enhanced with slotting, i do not know about powerboost though
Quote:Power Boost - Reduced strength of all versions of Power Boost by 33%, removed Knockback boost and removed stacking from the power. -
Quote:The Market is set up so that each item is flagged as either Limited Purchase or Unlimited Purchase. Unlimited items can be bought as many times as you want, and are generally consumables, like inspirations. Limited items can only be purchased once each, and are permanent items, like powers and costumes. Storage items have multiple entries because they are intended to be limited, but aren't intended to be limited to just one. Since the software doesn't have the ability to limit purchases to any number other than one, we get flooded with dozens of virtually identical items.Unless something's changed since the Market launched (and if it has, I'm sure someone will correct me), you are unable to buy anything more than once.
There is ONE way that I know of to buy a costume part you already own: If you buy a costume part individually, then later decide to buy the full set, you pay full price for the set; there is no discount for the already owned parts. Once you buy the full set though, all the individual parts are flagged as owned, and cannot later be repurchased. -
Quote:Really? Just about every LRSF I've done has had this discussion:Just about EVERY single rsf I have done, since that stupid requirement came along, has had some form of discussion and panic about if we have someone who can start it. SO yeah..I do feel strongly about that
one.
Roderick has joined the team.
[Team]Roderick: Hi guys.
[Team]Roderick: Do you have the SF unlocked? I can take the star if you need me to.
[Team]Leader: Nah, we're cool. Thanks.
Edit: "Since that stupid requirement came along"? I thought that the requirement had been there since the SF was introduced? -
I suspect that's the hat that M_I_Abrams was talking about near the top of the thread.
That's what I expect it to be, too. There was an offhand comment a while ago (on a Coffee Talk, maybe?) about "historical" hairstyles... maybe we're getting a powdered wig too?
I hope there's some nifty sales too, but if there are, I hope they're not the 24 hour variety, because I have less than 400 points left, and I don't get paid until Thursday.
