Acrobatics Question, confused by the KB protection..

I notice in Acrobatics it lists:

-7 Knockback, Knockup for 1.25s
PvEUnresistibleStackingCancel-2 Knockback, Knockup, Held for 1.25s

The -7 KB ignores enhancements and buffs while the -2 part does not. Why is this? Can it be enhanced somehow by like power boost?

And to clarify, it gives a total of 9 KB protection?

I've never actually used the power in game but I've messed around with it on Mids a couple times for some fire aura characters and putting knockback enhancements into the power did increase its protection. I remember it being at 14 or something.

You can slot it with knockback enhancements to increase the magnitude of protection.

yes it is intentional that portion can be enhanced with slotting, i do not know about powerboost though

The -7 part cannot be affected by enhancements *or* buffs, the -2 part can be enhanced *and* buffed.

Interesting, this must be a new change, I don't recall Acro ever being able to be slotted like that before?

As Aggelakis points out, it's been this way for quite a while. I'd really only recommend the use of Acrobatics to free players without access to the Inventions system or people wanting to PvP - otherwise, knockback protection is easily attainable from IOs and I find that route preferable in nearly all builds over running the Acrobatics toggle and burning the other power selections necessary to unlock it in the first place.

I don't know... CJ + SJ are both decent powers. By obtaining Acrobatics you could get the equal of two slots for one power selection and you get the bonus of hold resistance and 2 extra hold protection.

Power Boost has not affected Knockback since May 20th, 2008, and therefore will not boost Acrobatics either.

Power Boost - Reduced strength of all versions of Power Boost by 33%, removed Knockback boost and removed stacking from the power.
Interesting that that change was in the same patch as the change to Acrobatics. I never even considered it before, but I wonder if the two changes were in any way related to each other...

Wow I never realized they removed the KB from Powerboost... it used to be the Dominator secondaries that got Powerboost was because it enhanced the secondary effects. IE energy had knockbacks (Granted two attacks have stun still.)

I also thought it effected slows but it doesn't show it on City of Data. The funny thing is, the description for Powerboost still includes KB I believe.

Yep. That was bugged and reported on the Test forums before that patch went Live, and on the Live forums after it went Live, and has been mentioned a few times since then. For some reason, text errors like that in long descriptions are often considered low priority, even though a LOT of players never look at the real numbers and combat attributes, and just go by the paragraph that shows up on the character creation/level up screen.

Affect.
Power boost never "effected" anything.

Sure it did.

Power Boost effected an increase in the buffs of my other powers.

Yeah, he used it wrong. But "effect" is a verb, just like "affect" is a noun.

Actually, both are both - the context affects the effect of the words
