The Flying Carpet, Rocket Board, Coyote and Panther Travel powers, plus any others that force a form change or specific stance (current or future), all turn off all your toggles, suppress or cancel existing powers and effects on you, and prevent the activation of any other powers while the travel power is in effect*. This is working as intended. It is done because the animations and effects of other powers active while using the can make odd things happen while using these powers.

*Powers granted by the travel power, such as Panther Stealth, are still permitted.

While it's absent from the short description, this is explicitly stated in the long description. If you don't know exactly what you're buying, you should always check the long description before purchasing.

I have 8 toggles, and I use Super Speed only for travel. I use it just to hop huge walls or get around flying favored cities, but I mostly use them to "hop" on and off. if I have to turn on 8 toggles every time, not worth it. I don't mind losing my powers while its in use, but to have to return everything on? total waste

Play something without toggles? Problem solved!

1 -Don't be selfish - what if someone else comes along with your same question?

2 - You can't.

How is it a total waste? So you have to spend less than a minute retoggling stuff before a mission. Are you that strapped for time?

You don't understand. Retoggling all those powers over and over again just gets so slightly annoying and eats up so little time that it can drive even the sanest of men crazy.

Honestly, I play a Dark Armor brute. Retoggling's nbd. Suppression would be neat, but some people always treat having to retoggle like it's the end of the world, and nothing will change their minds.

If all you use it for is vertical movement, then the Steam Jump would have been a far better choice. It gives 30 seconds of unlimited vertical movement, and recharges in 30 seconds, so it's very rare that you need it before it's recharged. It doesn't detoggle you or prevent the use of any powers, and it costs 200 points, instead of the carpet's 600.

I'm sorry to disagree with you on this Rod, but that isn't why the powers are detoggled. Clockwork O1 explained why they made the decision to detoggle all the powers in this post.

This is not a simple request, it is an exponential increase in time and work for every new animation that is put into the game.

That's not a disagreement, it's just a different way of saying the same thing - the animations would have to be redone (As Clockwork O1 said), because leaving them unchanged will make Bad Thingsā„¢ happen (As I said, based on what had been said by BAB in regards to Walk).

Some people like it. The ONLY reason I haven't bought it is that I bought the Rocket Board immediately when it first came out and the two powers are identical in function (just not appearance).

Yep, it's pretty sweet. I also have the Good vs Evil Jump Pack. With both of those, even the Shadow Shard isn't a problem.

Character concept is what motivates me to buy a non combat travel power.

I have a Native American themed character that uses the panther power.

I have a stage magician that uses the flying carpet.

and I have a character based on the song "Surfin Bird" that uses the rocket board.

Being able to round out those concepts with appropriate powers is worth the expense in my book.

If you want a Fly power that doesn't disable other powers there is nothing to stop you taking Fly.
If you find you cannot spare the power slot then there are plenty of Temp Fly/Jump powers available.
If this did not disable other powers why would anyone take Fly?

I have a few toggle heavy characters and still use this to travel between mishes - it takes all of 10 seconds to retoggle when I get to the mish door - Really NOT an issue.
