  2. While I'm here, there's also a problem with the Boss placement in Police Station 02: The boss that I set to appear at the "Back" was right in front, the very first spawn.
  3. Somehow this doesn't seem right. On both Police Station 01 and 02, if I add a Boss and an Ally, I'm already over the limit:

    "There are too many Rescue, Escort, Ally, or Defend Object details for the current mission map. Either choose a larger map or remove/reduce the quantity of Rescue, Escort and Defend details."

    However, I'm certain there are existing missions within police stations that feature multiple allies/rescues as well as a boss. Is this an MA map max-setting bug?
  4. Can we build opposing/battling factions into a mission, as is seen in some Co* missions? Such as Thorns minions and Bantheon minions fighting it out, while both are hostile to the player?
  5. Hm... do I focus on getting one of my villains from 41 to 50, or do I just go alt-crazy like I would normally.

    It's hard for me to imagine sticking with a Dom or MM all weekend nonstop. But I want to make an EAT...

    I was very attracted to Eve Online -- multiplayer Elite?!? Sign me up!

    After spending 6 hours in the tutorial, and realizing I was only halfway through it, and realizing that I'd forgotten the last 5 hours of material, I gave up. I'm sure it's tremendously rewarding after you've spent a month learning everything, but damn. Life's too short.

  10. ...that it was originally much easier to hit enemies that were higher level than you? Despite that fact that XP was capped at +5, you'd often find teams of 8 in Baumton taking on +6 and +7 enemies.

    This all changed with the first major nerf of CoH, the "purple patch", which was pre-Issue 1. The purple patch dramatically reduced heroes' effectiveness vs. higher-level enemies, effectively limiting players to +4 enemies.
  11. ...that for a while after Singularities were added to Gravity Control, Singies were able to use every power they have now, PLUS Dimension Shift?

    However, as you'd expect, a frequent and random application of Dimension Shift not only rendered the Singy useless, it also tended to frustrate teammates.

    (And for years you could still put Intangibility enhancements into the Singy, but they wouldn't do anything. You might still be able to, I'm not sure.)

    It isn't the popularity of bases so much as the fact that our programming & art team did a phenomenal job of allowing players to generate their own lairs. Maybe not enough players have experienced this content to comment on it, though hopefully Posi's changes will help.

    And I think all that work shows through. My experience with bases was limited to using their teleporters until I ended up as the leader of an SG on Test. That gave me an opportunity to make a (very small) base and decorate it. That was a blast!

    So yeah, it seems like the problem is that all this work went into a feature (base construction) that, by design, only a small percentage of players have access to. I don't have any better ideas, though, other than to give every player their own personal base.

    Sorry, perhaps my intentions were unclear.

    I'm interested in seeing if anyone has utilized this artifice -- restricting certain powers to certain costumes -- as a role-playing tool.
  15. Someone's surely thought of this, though I'm curious to see if anyone's had the discipline to follow through on it.

    Basically, you've got certain powers that are only available in certain costumes.

    Simple example: Mind/TA Controller. Costume 1 is lightweight clothing, allowing for free movement. TA powers are available when this costume is worn. Costume 2 features high-tech body armor. When this is worn, Tough and Stealth are available, but TA powers are not. Mind powers are available at all times, being non-physical in nature.

    Anyone done/seen this? And if so, do you have any fancy binds to manage the costumes, powers, and trays?

  18. I didn't get all that far into the set, but here are some thoughts:

    1.Make sure that the Blaster version does more damage and that the Defender version has a more potent resistance debuff. Alternatively, you might consider making the debuff from the Defender version last a little longer. (Making Defender attacks an inherent benefit to the team.)

    2.As many others have said, consider alternate vocal sets for females/regular males/huge males.

    Overall, it seems like a great set!

    Frankly, this is why my Ice Tanker is now stalled out at 39 and I'm starting a Stone Tanker. I remember watching Invul tankers crumble under Carnies, Rularuu, and Psychic Clockwork. My Ice will have all the same problems, PLUS the absence of resistance.

    What if, rather than Hoarfrost, Chilling Embrace could be modified with the same goal in mind? How high would the base percentage of attack rate-slowing have to be to get us into the right range?

    Alternately, based on what we know of the mechanics behind CE and SO's, what if there were an attack rate reduction enhancement? Given current base reduction of CE, how close could CE enhancement get us to a balanced set of numbers?

    It sure would be helpful to have that info... hell, it would help just to have it confirmed that the debuff duration is tied to the duration of the "dark cloud" effect on the target.

  24. Yeah, I have a Grav Controller (Ms. Mentana, Virtue) who wears a nice suit, and she just looks silly when sprinting, so I try not to. It's a pain, but in two levels she'll have Teleport and we'll be good to go.
