Some kind of easily visible designator for trial accounts is a really good idea, and I wholeheartedly /sign some variant thereof.

84.8%, and the spelling and grammar of that quiz was terrible.

You can't get hover to flight itself very easily, but (speaking from experience here) a mere two blessings of the zephyr (travel/end, travel) gets Hover to be about sprint speed. Slot two BoTZ and say... a Fly IO (plus another in swift) and you'll move at a pretty good combat clip and look totally awesome. If the end use really worries you, two BoTZ, and two LoTG (def/end, any other) keeps use down a lot, buffs protection slightly, and well, gives you a place to toss one of those global procs.
-
I'd suggest Dark Blast/Empathy or Dark Blast/Pain Dom. The tentacles and energy balls and things could represent vines and such, while the buffing aspects play into the medicinal plant angle mentioned a few posts up.

While I was in the shower this morning (yeah yeah, so I was inspired) I was thinking that Resistance sets don't really have an equivalent to the Luck of the Gambler set with its oh so awesome +recharge IO. What I was thinking was that while resistance or undefended characters can make some build sacrifices to get three or four LoTGs (worst case: maneuvers, weave, combat jumping, and hover) Resistance based sets should have a functional equivalent to the LoTG.
That premise stated, here's my idea for a Resistance-equivalent to the Luck of the Gambler set:
Name: Fated Stalwart
Level Range: 30-50
Components: Res/End, Res/Rech, Res, End, Res/End/Rech, Res/6.25% rech special.
Set Bonuses: 2/Recovery +2%, 3/Max END +1.8%, 4/Accuracy +9%, 5/Reduce Stun duration 2.75%, 6/Psi Def +3.13%.
Notes: I based the set bonuses on the set bonus article at Paragonwiki, and tried to mirror when possible the LoTG set bonuses. Thus +end instead of +hp, recovery instead of regen, etc. The reason the special IO in this set is smaller than the one in LoTG is twofold. First, most res-based sets can easily stack up five of these without trying or even leaving their innate powers in some cases (Invuln, Elec, Stone off the top of my head). Second, I imagine the raw size of the LoTG bonus has caused some balance concerns over at Castle's desk, and I believe that 6.25% is both reasonable and less difficulty-producing.
In conclusion, I had this idea, I spent a bit of time working it up, and now I'm looking for feedback on its viability and the pointing out of potential issues with regards to balance. When that process is complete, I'll fire it off to Castle for his review and cross my fingers. -
Congratulations indeed, way to go. I'll second the suggestion to go do a villain to 50 now though.

I think people (myself included!) have been asking for that sybil dress to be an unlockable since Cimeroa was introduced and they've pretty much laughed in our faces on it.

Wish I could help, but with economic conditions the way they are I don't have the cash to.
I DO wish you the best luck in getting the money and other support you need though, and hope that this pays off with treatment/cure ASAP.

Flagging Fury.
Freedom's Pryce (nit: strongly suggests last name).
Eagle's Star.
Just three I thought I'd toss out there, since yeah patriotic names are a touch difficult in this game on Virtue. *hides own patriotic character Passion of Liberty*
EDIT: Got a new one: Minute Mauler! -
Well speaking for myself I don't have numbers comparing old and new damage values on my dom, but she exists because of the I15 changes, so I suppose you could say her damage modification is infinite percent.

If it's not too much work to implement, I'm all over this idea. /signed.

To me, the solution is simple. Implement a global PvP/dueling feature, but it only works for a single server. If it turns about to be really popular and griefless, maybe add another server.
Even though players don't like PvP, I'd bet that server would become rather popular.
I can't see how anyone would have any issues with this...
That opens up the can o' worms of split codebases. Adding that option to one special server means that it's going to by definition have different settings/code than the normal servers. That means whenever the devs add a new patch/Issue they'll at least double their debug/QA cycle time since they'll have to test all the new codes' interaction with both the default server code and the "pvp server" code. It'll make isolating bugs harder and more time consuming, make issues take longer to get resolved (and Issues longer to get released) and it'd serve at most ten or perhaps fifteen percent of the playerbase. That's a lot of time and money that'd be in effect pissed away, and it would become an ongoing expense since it's not like the designers and the coders sit on their butts for 2.5 months and then bang an Issue out in two caffeine-fueled crunch weeks (I hope) so they'll be doubling or more their workloads every day for their forseeable futures.
Ultimately it's not really a sound investment of resources since the effected portion of the population is so small, the costs in time, money, and manpower are so high, and as you can see just from this thread the playerbase is in general quite vehemently opposed to such a change that the PR backlash presents a not-inconsiderable threat to the game and studio's continuing survival. -

No, my young and ignorant friend, this is not what naturally happens when one sits at a computer and begins to type. This is what happens when a 12 year old sits at a computer and begins to type. Clarity and intelligence are sacrificed for brevity and some ineffable form of 'coolness'. Come back to us when you have completed high school, and perhaps we can engage in a civilized conversation.

This.

lol did you ever consider that im an old fart and not that used to typing on comps
[/ QUOTE ]
Then I'm more inclined to view you as a liar. Older typists in my experience generally carry over the skills and practices rooted in typewriter usage rather than "leet speak" and abbreviations. The point people ragging on your nearly-incomprehensible posts are making is that if you don't communicate clearly in proper, well written posts you negate any point you might have because people won't wade through the headache-inducing formatting and play Rosetta Stone with the spelling and grammatical errors to find out what you were actually trying to say.
The short form: Think of typing on the internet as a picture of yourself. Do you want to project a good picture that makes you look like a GQ model, or do you want to be that 400 pound guy on the nude beach? If you're comfortable being the 400 pound guy, keep doing what you're doing. -
I love this idea and fully support its integration into future updates. Do it, do it now.

Well you could use wild animals for the raw ingredients, so you don't strictly need a farm the same way you need a meat packing plant.*Goes off to nom non-baloney meat products*

I might be able to go, depending on how busy my evening is. Global name's the same as my forum handle, with no underscore.
Possible characters are (all heavily IO'd):
Arcana Decevos, 50 Ill/Rad troller
Agent Von Zant, 50 Night Widow
Materspite, 50 Crab Spider
Passion of Liberty, 50 Fire/WP scrapper
I've got a couple other 50s, but I don't really trust them to survive in the face of the Legionares. -
I'm still boggled that he got to publish a paper (even if the journal is questionable as several posters here have implied) that basically reads as "if you act like a [censored] people treat you like a [censored]." Isn't that I dunno, prima facie obvious?

So I've been playing with my new mind/nrg dom (and having fun) but wanted some veteran dominators' opinions on her possible 50 post-respecs build. I'm saying this up front so there's no miscommunication, I am not looking for a leveling build, I'm looking for an at-50 permadom build. That's the goal. Please try to keep comments to that goal.
That being said, here's what I've worked out. It's got barely-perma hasten (by .1 sec in mids') and dom coming back in 72.4 seconds. Since the window's so tight on Hasten's recharge, I'm figuring setting that as the auto-execute power and manually hitting domination.
Here's build:

Although the implementation of Dual Blades was pretty unique, I'm still disappointed in the community for picking yet another smash/lethal set for melees to use. As if we don't have enough of those already.
Before we add an exotic set like psi melee, let's also add chainsaw melee!

I found Merc/Dark to be incredibly good as a pairing. The -res helps offset the (overstated, IMO) lethal resists in the late game, Fearsome means the mob ain't runnin' from the AOE deathcloud the mercs will drop, and you've got a really, really nice heal to keep those crazy boys on their feet and shooting.

I don't run CCs anymore (not in 4 years or so) but occasionally if I'm in Atlas on a 50 with a bunch of spare inf. I'll swing by somebody else's contest and offer "supplemental prizes" to costumes *I* like but that didn't make the cut for the official host. Makes it less of an exercise in futility when somebody random hands you a million inf. even if you're not the underdressed ****** or the darktiy dark demon of the week.
