Quote:OK, I just did a search.
I limited the range to 21-30 and got 3 people, including myself. I then searched for 41-50 and got 20 people. Only 2 of those are not 50. Those results are pretty typical for what I've been seeing lately. During primetime the number of lowbies is about the same as right now, and the number of 50's is double what I'm seeing at the moment. I get what you're saying about the list truncating itself when you get a lot of results, but I don't think that's what's happening.
<shrug> It is what it is. The Incarnate system is the new shiny, and the majority of people are doing that. I get that. I don't like it, but I get it.
I did a search *just* now, from levels 1-20, there were more than 50 matches. From 21-40, again, more than 50 matches. Also keep in mind, that I'm a villain only player so I don't get to see the more populated side of the game.
For fun, doing a search in a 10 level range:
1-10: 26
11-20: 31
21-30: More than 50
31-40: More than 50
41-50: More than 50
Granted, it's primetime but I also can't see hidden people. -
Thanks for the info everyone!
Hmm.. lasts less than the defense debuff (8 seconds), but with Bullet Rain and Empty Clip, it will still be usefull (considering with Tough/Sonic Dispersion/A(P)PP armors, S/L would be at 75%). -

So I'm currently leveling a Sonic/Dual Pistol Defender, my very first defender and I can't wait to get her out of Praetoria and into the Rogue Isles but there are a few things I'm not sure about. The first is on procs, due to the way Swap Armor, it seems I can slot procs from the slow, knockback, and defense debuff sets. I'm assuming that the proc slotted in a power will only go off if the correct ammo is equipped, ie, Achilles' Heel -res will NOT go off if I have Chemical Rounds running (-dmg on a secondary paired with a resistance primary? yes please!).
Second question and running along with the idea of Chemical Rounds, what are the numbers on the -damage? No real numbers on any of the powers seems to reveal the strength of the debuff. -
I've been playing MMOs since 1999 and the one I have played for the longest (5 years) had:
3. Experience loss and deleveling
4. Full-body looting
5. The corpse run (old-style)
On one particularly bad day I was having, I went from level 41 to level 39 due to lag. I logged off the game for a week, simply left my guild a message that I had to take a small break. I didn't give up on the character, he eventually reached level 52 (as he was no longer my main) and from what I've heard, they've drastically reduced all three penalties or even removed some. I don't know, I haven't gone back since 2004. Could our death system be a little bit more grievous? Sure, but it doesn't need to be. A solo player's debt doesn't automagically disappear (unless they log off and stay logged off for a while).
It's a fun list, in total I've been parts of games that had the first half of 2 in the late game and 4 or 9 if you chose to avoid number 4. One that had only the full extent of number 2. Another one that had a combination of 7 and 8. Although I would be interested in how any MMO could sell number 1. I mean, the MMO I spoke of in the first paragraph had a tournament in a server they made specifically with number 1 and entirely open PvP. No level restrictions, no race restrictions, all out war. The character I made died about 7 times, so he only ever got as high as level 14 or so out of like, I think, at the time 60 or 65 levels. It's a shame I forgot what the winner got. -
Just today after I attempted to solo Scrapyard (the scardy ghost ran away from all my AoE debuffs right into the Black Market
) I zoned into Cap au Diable and my pets become unresponsive, including my lore pets.

My MM main is a Necromancy/Trick Arrow/Soul Mastery.
Alpha: Musculature - I've got no benefit from Nerve as I already have Tactics on my build and absolutely no source of enhanceable defense. I've got some global recharge and Trick Arrow already recharges plenty fast enough with regular IOs and the heals from my henchman tend to be wasted as their first attack so Spiritual would be of minimal use. Trick Arrow has almost no endurance issues, my only source of Resistance is my Soul Mastery armor, and none of my pets ever run out of endurance, so Cardiac is again of limited use.
Judgement: Void Total Radial - I didn't go with the core because I already have Musculature and /TA's -res to increase my Judgement's damage. As a /TA, I really have no reason to be in melee, but Flash Arrow makes it easy to setup a Void opener and the -50% damage does wonders for the survivability of my henchmen. I then also stack up a Poison Gas Arrow for even more -damage and I breeze through the fight.
Lore: IDF Total Core - Purely for concept reasons and because I already had the Seers on another character. For five minutes, my damage types are varied: Lethal, Negative Energy, Fire, Smashing, and Energy. Sure, the Commander is no Vicky, but seeing him do 800-900 damage still brings a smile to my face.
Interface: Reactive Partial Radial - I tend to solo mostly and this improves my damage the most. Since the patch, my Oil Slick Arrow can pretty much clear an entire spawn. If I do more trials (I'm getting frustrated at my old computer's constant crashing) I'll probably with with Paralytic Partial Radial Interface to stack on even more -dmg.
Destiny: Barrier Partial Core - I don't have the reflexes to have the best AoE heal for my zombies so I went with the choice that allows them to wreak havoc recklessly without any ill effect to them. -
I'd be pretty happy to have details on animal heads. What if I have an arcane wolfman caster who wants to wear a hood? Or a literal cat burglar who wants to wear one of those eye masks ala Robin? Perhaps my minotaur is a savvy gadgeteer and wants to wear goggles. It is very frustrating not having details on heads, pretty much all of my characters have some sort of detail on their head (which does mean I haven't played an animal/beast character).

I have to admit that going in (I didn't go to the open betas, bad bad me) I was a little apprehensive of the Mortimer Kal SF from what I had heard, but I was pleasantly surprised.
[SPOILERS!]
You kidnap someone's daughter in order to force them to help you? Cool, but even better, you keep her at the end in order to make sure he stays loyal.
You free some Circle of Thorns from Numina's grasp and when they turn on you after beating Numina, you show them exactly why you're on top! And giving Infernal a beating is just icing.
You attempt to force a war between the Warriors and the Midnight Squad who are currently at peace, and though you fail, you kick both of their ***** in the same mission.
But best of all, you go to Positron's base, in his own home turf, defeat him leaving him with more than just a bruised ego, you take what he was tasked with guarding for yourself.
I still prefer the end of Vincent Ross' arc where you take down an entire army of the Legacy Chain with the coup de grace being taking down a task force of 8 heroes all at the same time.
[/SPOILERS] -
I haven't seen too many Dual Blades/Electric Armor. Have had mine, and loved mine, since the first day of i11.

Quote:Killing them all is too much. Ignoring them all is too little. Somewhere in-between is a better place.
On my Brute, I always leave Lightning Field on while rushing this part (well, always really, I rarely turn it off). I also open up the fights with a Ball Lightning squarely in the middle of the crate/chamber spawns, I immediately follow up with a Sweep combo, but due to the way the IDF are placed, only Typhoon's Edge will really hit the spawn. If squishies get aggro past that, then they're hitting the wrong target. I know, because I've also done it on my Mastermind who does not have the benefit of bodyguard mode past the first destructible object and because she sticks to the tank/brute, firing off her AoE debuffs and her one or two attacks at the crates, she doesn't take too much aggro.
I mean, we are running Incarnate trials, I do expect my squishies to be able to handle two or three errant mobs, regardless of rank. -
Quote:
The MM secondaries are the same numbers of corruptors and controllers, with just slightly higher endurance values. Do corruptors and Controllers need a buff too?
....
Give me numbers, give me facts.
No
Flash Arrow: MM (-3.75% Tohit) vs Controller/Corruptor (-5% Tohit)
Poison Gas Arrow: MM (-15% Damage) vs Con/Cor (-20% Damage)
Acid Arrow: MM (-15% Defense) vs Con/Cor (-20% Defense)
Forge: MM (15% Tohit, 30% Dam) vs Con/Cor (20% Tohit, 40% Dam)
Heat Exhaustion: MM (-37.5% Dam) vs Con/Cor (-50% Dam)
Melt Armor: MM (-15% Defense) vs Con/Cor (-20% Defense)
Hurricane: MM (-22.75% Tohit) vs Con/Cor (-30% Tohit)
There are more powers than just those 7. Masterminds pay a higher endurance cost for lesser benefits. -
I believe Cap Au Diable would be best for this! Start at the south ferry, walk to Aeon City then a half circle in the inner section of the raised platform get off on the northern ramp and ending at the northern ferry.

Psst, as awesome as Liora Kate is, she's not one of mine :P. That'd be Kelenar's character.

On i20s launch day, when I finished my first Mortimer Kal SF, I went straight to Prometheus to turn in my temporary power and get my notice. I too had to ask how I got my rightful Notice of the Well when Prometheus wasn't the answer.
-
You go to your badges, then go to the Accomplishment badges, go all the way to the bottom where you'll find the "Promethean" badge, and then click on the button in the actual badge (claim I think) and voila, you lose the temp power and gain a notice!

Elite Dreadnaught
Villain - Brute (Dual Blades/Electric Armor)
Virtue Server
@Rikis
Elite Dreadnaught is a demon from another dimension, a warrior priestess to her god. She uses chaos magic to protect herself and her skill with her magic blades is superb. She came to Earth through a portal that her kind did not know would become a one-way ticket. She has had no luck in finding the Blood Inquisitor (mostly cause I really can't get past level 10 blueside) but she has a new goal, to get back home and prepare an invasion of Earth. She agreed to her original mission in order to increase her rank within the army of her kind. She.... umm.. "enjoyed" battle before Silver Mantis was given her dialogue and to a much... fuller extent. All in the name of her god of course. -
Quote:Too much, even for you! I shall have the entire state in which you reside hunt you with torches and pitchforks!Well bally ho, the servers are down wotwot, well stone the crows I'll be surprised that those devious devs appear to have made a kerfuffle on the timing of the maintenance of the servers I say good man.
The timing is poppycock as you would say.
But it does give me time for tea.
Which is just bully.
There you happy now Sam?
You're in America, we speak Spanish here!
Edit: And my very first after a redname! -
Although this was just with the Alpha only, I decided to check out the 49+ difference bug with my MM in Mercy Island. Found a few level 1 mobs, and my Lich (who was 50(+1)) did 60-80 damage on them. Then took it to fight level 2s and 3s and his damage spiked up to 200-300. Oh legacy code, I can only begin to imagine what the devs must go through when adding new or updating mechanics to the game.
-
My brute has been able to one shot the War Walkers in the trials and the weapon caches in Lambda with the t3 Ion Judgement. The one with extra damage to all ranks. One time, the only thing left from me alphaing a spawn with Ion was the original minion target.
-
I was specifically aiming my comment at the "10 Threads" reward being for leechers. I know that the Huntsman in the trial also complained about getting the 10 Threads reward table and she wasn't leeching either, hell, she was leading the charge.
-
If only that were true... but it isn't, my Mastermind participates as much as my Dominator and my Brute do, but neither of the latter two ever saw the 10 threads choice.
-
Quote:On my Brute, I got mostly uncommons, many rares, and a few commons.
Now, the 5th point may well just be anecdotal or sheer bloody bad luck. But every, and I do mean every reward table Alpha has got on a succesful trial has been Common. Every. Bloody. Time.
I don't want or need commons. Commons I can craft by the boatload with every BAF or Lambda. What I need is the Rare and Very Rare table, so I have some hope in hell of having an even fight against the mobs, who'll still always end up +1 to me. But that at least I could handle.
On my Dominator, I got 3 very rares, 2 rares, many uncommons, and a few commons.
On my Mastermind, I got 1 uncommon, 3 commons, and 2 *10 Threads or Inspiration* choices at the end.
Suddenly, my goal of getting my current 3 50s to (+3) seems a lot farther away.
