MM pets zoning issue

Has anyone noticed if this has been fixed in the recent patch? I ran a newspaper mission and 5+1 tips on my MM right after the patch and never had my pets become unresponsive after zoning or entering or leaving a mission. If so, yay!

Just today after I attempted to solo Scrapyard (the scardy ghost ran away from all my AoE debuffs right into the Black Market ) I zoned into Cap au Diable and my pets become unresponsive, including my lore pets.

It's a known issue. I don't recall if they ever fixed it ? But either way just add this to the list of stuff Mastermind players have to deal with just to have a working Arch Type. Sadly masterminds fall into the same category as Kheldians. The are complicated and buggy with there own set of rules.

Masterminds are just not the meat and potatoes of this game so it just does not get the attention other Arch Types do.

Have the Devs even acknowledged this problem yet?

I bet if the Pets were doing double damage this would have been fixed almost instantly, but when it doesn't benefit us, they take forever to fix it.

I'm really surprised more people haven't complained about this. I pretty much gave up playing my MM until this is fixed. I got sick of having to go let myself be defeated in order to gain control over my pets again.

I have never complained about it HERE. I have bugged the issue EVERY time it occurs, with a different bug title. I have a notepad to save my basic format: "[Mastermind type] (Mastermind) pets stuck at [zone-in location] when zoning from [zone 1] to [zone 2]". I just fill in the locations, add any other relevant details (few), and move on. I have bugged the issue as much as 20 times a day, I'm sure. It should surprise no one that I play a lot of Masterminds...

Also, you DON'T need to die to rectify the issue. "Dismissing" pets doesn't make them resummonable, but the slash command /releasepets ALWAYS DOES. I have had this command macroed on all Masterminds since this bug became pervasive.

Ever since this bug cropped up it has, like SO many CoH bugs, been "fixed" and reappeared numerous times. It has waxed and waned in severity. Sometimes pets get stuck EVERY time they zone, other times it's comparatively rare.

Honestly, the biggest and most pervasive bug in the game... is it's root code...

And to reiterate, I can't stress this enough: /bug this problem EVERY time it occurs. It's why I have (and provided, above) my standard format for the bug report. It's also why I (again) suggest using a different bug title each time. The more complaints they get, the more they will realize the need for a genuine fix, and having worked tech support myself for several years, they can't easily bulk-edit them out of the system if the complaints all have different titles/subjects.

Weird you guys are experiencing this bug so often: I may get this bug once a month =\

To temporarily fix it in the meantime, just type "/release_pets", and all your pets will die and you can just resummon them, good as new: no dying necessary.

re: Your first point. The bug comes and goes. Has fluctuated in severity since it first appeared. Also, for me, it seems to be worst with necromancy pets. That may very well be a misperception on my part, since most of my Masterminds are necromancers.

The bug is really annoying, but not game-breaking for me. As Bloodspeaker and Zeh_Masteh said, I just type /releasepets and resummon. Dismissing the pets, even if they go away, typically won't work as you probably can't resummon.

It is still better than when pets would not zone at all.

It does seem to wax and wane, and I can't see any pattern to it.

Bloodspeaker, I'll make sure to /bug it from now on.

When you switch zones, you notice the knuckleheads aren't following you, most of the time. What I really don't like is when I zone in a mission and hit an AoE debuff to draw the alpha and the pets are gambling over my cloak.

As a side note, /releasepets ALSO corrects the problem even if you DO dismiss them, first. They may not still be in the pet window anymore, but they are still your (catatonically unresponsive) minions. The release command seems to be the ONLY thing they will fully respond to after getting stuck.

A few minutes ago was the first time I entered a mish ans had my pets be unresponsive normaly that only happens outside of missions

Incredible annoying bug yes. I have bugged it a lot of times.. and have done several lambda runs starting without my pets following me :S

honestly ive very rarely had this happen when playing any of my mm's and i been on them a lot since the bug cropped up and i think ive only had this happen to me like maybe twice and took 1 sec to fix by typing the releasepets command

As has been stated several times, the issue is very irregular. I'll go several days without incident, and then it happens every other time I zone - entering missions, leaving missions, changing zones by any means.

As a side-note, I've also had it occur with NON-Mastermind specific pets - Dark Servant, Singularity, Phantasm, etc.
