  1. I remember someone mentioning spawning a Kronos Titan in Steel and leading him to a burning building before it blew up.
  2. Oh, oh! *raises hand* Pick me! Pick me!
  3. How I ended up on Protector is a different story.

A little over two years ago I DL'd the trial (26mo and counting,) didn't know anything about the game other than what I had read, and just picked a server (happened to be Justice.) Then I heard someone say something about east coast vs west coast servers. I had no idea that there was such a thing!

So I eventually found the wiki, and the list of servers, misread Justice as being a east coast server (which it's not) so I re-rolled my main on Protector.

Oddly enough, I met a Justicite at HeroCon last year, decided to play with him in-game. I had totally forgotten that I had rolled my first character over there.

But I consider Protector my home.
  4. I love to walk in Perez Park. There are so many different surfaces there.

Take a higher level character there so as to not be bothered by the locals and head into the park. troll across the laws, the gravel, the streams and wooden bridges that cross them.

    *sigh*

  7. How about they randomly select an active account and apply the code...

    Advertising!!

I think they should get product placement in TV programs that would be likely to attract new players.

    Login server?

Check your firewall settings. I had this problem quite often after a CoX update, and had to re-allow the CoH.exe and the updater.exe even though the firewall settings said they were allowed.

Can you believe it, my hair dryer told me not to use it while in the shower. The nerve!
  11. Be warned, that there are European versions floating around out there.
  12. Go to your local Big Lot! (or any other discount store) and buy it. Usually for $10 or less.

Edit: Oh, and are you looking for the Heroes or Villains Collector DVD Edition?
  13. I thought the Trial accounts had a dialog box that pops up with the trial restrictions?

No problem. I've seen this problem on XP, Vista, and Win 7.

Another helpful tip: To get a cleaner snap of you character, rotate/zoom them to the desired position, and click 'Save', it will remover the CC UI and give you a cleaner shot. (Just wished it left things like weapons and shields out.)
  15. Vista and Win7 come with an app called Snipping Tool, it works withing the Costume Creator (well, it has in all but one case so far.) In Vista it's in the Accessories folder on the Start menu, in Win 7 it's already pinned to the Start menu.

If that doesn't work, I have a workaround.

If you are getting a 'blank' screenshot when trying to capture your Powers screen/Character Creation/Tailor screen, do this:

    1. Bring up whatever art program you are going to use (MSPaint, GIMP, etc.)
    2. Move said program so that only a small portion of it is visible, but leave it in the foreground (on top of CoX.)
    3. Hit PrintScreen.
    4. Move your art app back into view.
    5. Paste.

I find this usually solves the 'blank' screenshot issue.

I pretty sure that this is not an issue with the game, but with OS and possible graphics drivers and their interaction with the game, because not everyone is affected the same.

Good idea. I tried swapping the Tab to be the nearest target, then got frustrated when I couldn't cycle through the mobs to find specific targets, so I changed it back to the default.

What you listed seems like a perfect solution. Thanks.

  18. Why I play on Protector?

Well, because it's Protector. And Protector ROCKS!

And Protector does some crazy ****! (Which reminds me, I need to put a few more levels on Yuletide Spirit.)

I even shanghai my Justice friends over here.
  19. So sorry I missed this on Monday. But what can I say, it was my day and I slept in.

Thanks again for hosting the CPCC, and the free art.
  20. Happy Hatching Day, Juggertha!

  21. Options are always good, as long as it's an option and I am not forced to view the time stamp.

Depending on where I'm at and what Global Channel I am chatting in, I may or may not use the variable that also shows my character's name. Some of my character's names can be rather long, add that to the channel name, and what I type often appears on the next line. Looking something like...

Jello Shooters: Angel Red ~Greenwich Mean Mine, 22~: Blah
    blah blah.

Personally, I would opt not to see the time stamp in my chat window. Getting it through a click would be nice, but otherwise I'll just search my chat log.

I actually have a list of paid, and free apps, as well as hosting sites stickied at the top of the forums.
