I've had just as bad teams on Protector... and Virtue... and several other servers.
And your first problem was playing on Freedom BLUE SIDE. Because all the GOOD players are red side on Freedom. 
And then my next comment would be: If you hate it so, why do you play over there?
And my final comment is: Not anyworse than running an ITF (on protector and mostly JSers) and team wiping 3 or 4 times before you make the first turn in the cave of the first mission. Yeah... that was a joy.
Edit: Yeah, guess I need to stop hanging out here... since I play on Freedom. *sighs*
Nah Wolfie I think the point is, that most of us would far rather teamwipe ad infinitum with friends here on Protector, than deal with the same crap on another server where you know you're alone.

This example Hyper's providing is indicative of the lack of heart one is likely to find on the other servers. Even some of the most bizarre or simple-minded players here on Protector have more heart than what Hyper ran into.

I've had people bail with multiple alts from a team mid-mission before. It sucks, but you suck it up and drive on.
I've had people who play the "I'll keep poking my head back in until the last mission".
I've had tons of "I'm getting killed more than I want so I'll lie and go elsewhere."
This is the first time I've had a team captain disassemble the damn team because he "had to go".

I've not played on Freedom in a while, but I've got several characters over there (heck there isn't an NA server I don't have characters on.) But two times out of three while on a PuG, there will be one, if not two players who's behavior is so unacceptable, I find it necessary to petition them. This has happened blueside and redside.
Now, there are tools on every server and there are great people on every server. Yes, Freedom has a higher population so you are more likely to come across bad elements while playing. But I don't think it's proportionate, I truly believe that Freedom actually has a higher percentage of ***hats.
Granted this is all based on perception, but the odds don't encourage me to venture over there often, if ever.
I no longer remember what happened, but for awhile, I had several characters on Freedumb. I would play them if Protector, or the west coast went down.
But something so offensive occurred a few years back that I just flat deleted every character I had on there, including name holders. I won't set a single pixelated foot on the 'dumb ever again.
I'm very glad that people can find good teams there and good friends there. I think that's awesome.

Here's the deal, higher population on a server is jsut that... higher population. Meaning not only is there more people, but more jerks among those people.
To be perfectly honest, I've met lots more jerks on Protector than I have Freedom. I can name maybe 2 people I've played with on Freedom redside that were just *******.
If you aren't playing from a pool of people you know (SG/VG/Jello Shooters), there as just as many ******** on Protector, per capita, as any other server. And honestly, I've had to deal with more lvl 50 JERKS on Protector than Freedom.
At least it doesn't take an act of congress to put a redside team together. Or pool enough people to make a SF run, or get badges. It just depends on the group you choose to run with.
And yeah, Hyper, I know your joking... but I"m sure I'm dead to a lot of people now that I play 1. on Freedom and 2. on red side.
I realize just what an ****** *I* was being going around doing LOL Freedumb, now.
At least, if I needed people to get a badge (ala' Among Friends last night in JS), I wouldn't have a problem finding enough people to do it.
There's really no sense to this argument anymore.
I mentioned once that the amount of threads where players complain about bad teams and go "Okay, so I was playing on Freedom..." and the next five posters quote that and go "There's your problem, right there..." have nearly dropped to nothing (this thread notwithstanding).
Something happened that caused a major shift in the behavior of the server, so I would have to agree with Wolfie, the jerks have nearly vanished. I suppose losing the ability to dope teams (like one would dope a race horse) to reap massive rewards without really playing for them has been ripped and gutted from the game in a surprisingly elegant fashion. Either the talentless jerks have disappeared, or they've learned to better themselves and play the game.
Yes, there are still a few stragglers. Yes, they are all over the game. However, they're now an even more minor part of what is still a surprisingly fun and entertaining adventure. We'll all have our rough moments, but this is hardly the sort of issue that should cause us to condemn any one server.

I get defensive because I'm playing on Freedom 98% of the time now (but also several other servers too, including Virtue). I play with some fantastic players and people. So, guess I take it kinda personal more now. I take it that I and the people I play with are being lumped in with the jerks, or worse, I have some "special exclusion" because I played on Protector the last 4 years (up until the last 4 months). The only caveat I'll give is, there are more jerks blue side than red side.
