Quote:It used to be like that. When I was playing my necro/dark MM often times I never even bothered fully enchanting my zombies. The team would be halfway done with the mission when I finished buffing them up.Ahh thank you very much, I was casting it on all of them individually, good thing I asked hehe.
I wonder how many blue pills you're chugging down cause it costs me half my blue bar to cast it ONCE -

Put me down in the traps column too (I'm in love with traps, rolled a thugs/traps MM with a Destroyers theme in Praetoria, good times).
Really though, I don't think you can go wrong with storm, dark, or traps. Only secondary I don't really recommend is poison. I rolled a ninja/poison and hated the single target focus on it. Mercs aren't all that sturdier than ninjas either. -
Quote:Just did a master of STF with 3 masterminds. 2 bots, 1 thugs. They were great at doing what they do; utilizing their debuffs/buffs while being smart with their pets.Hey i just started an mm and its pretty cool, but i was wondering if at higher levels i would be good in groups. Like if people would even bother inviting me, because i dont want to solo at endgame
Also, which primary/secondary would be best for groups, but still be able to solo
PS: Ranged pets being melee happy (like thugs -the tier 1 guys, not the bruiser- running up to Recluse, hitting him for piddly damage, then getting smacked like a %)$(@&) is awesomely hilarious. Thanks devs for the laughter (sorry MMs, it's at your expense). -
Quote:Relatively squishy in the early goings (from both soldier and widow) in my experience leveling them up.Quick question: I tried Warshades and Peacebringers many times, never really developed a liking for them. Are Spiders/Crabs equally annoying, as the villain VEAT? What is the 'downside' to playing a Villain VEAT? (Or technically, a VEAT - Villain VEAT is repetitive.) Do VEATs populate your missions with nemeses, the way Kheldians bring in Quantum thingys into missions?
Serious answers please, no "The downside is how unbelievably awesome they are!" replies.
Thanks.
More so for widows in my opinion, because they were melee from 1-24 whereas soldiers can shoot away at range.
Soldiers have no defense debuff resistance at all, while widows have minimal.
As a bane spider, a good part of my defenses came from pool aoe immobilize and Crowd Control. I played like a blapper with much better defenses.
I had the safest leveling time as fortunata, from all of my CoX toons. Think mind/psy dominator with vastly superior defenses and leadership buffs but poorer controls. -
Quote:Why do you think "Positron" colored his power armor pee stain yellow? And that radiation emission / rad blast has that mountain dew'ish tint on it as default?
- Matt Miller's shirt in the Vid Docs is an odd shade of yellow. It would not go with my wardrobe. In fact, I'm not sure it goes in his. Now, some may say that the fact that my entire wardrobe comes from the clothes that fall out of the bags Good Will carries their donations in would negate my fashion critique. To them I say how do you know where I get my clothes?
I think someone needs to be handed 2 yellow cards for the above and for singing "we all live in a yellow submarine" at paragon studios. -
In all seriousness, it might take a while for the hero population to adapt to the damage/x style of villains.
I know not everyone plays in Cim and RWZ, be it normal door missions there or the TFs.
I'll give it time for blueside and redside to become purple
I know my mindset's somewhat against the more specialized roles of heroes, because I've played redside so much. -
My faith in blue side support has been renewed. My rogue crab was teaming with heroes last night, and I must say the emps on the team had almost everyone with fort, had clear mind on the mezz-vulnerable people, and went to town with their blasts. I don't think we needed very many heals, if at all.
-
My crab / bane officially crossed over last night, after completing the rogue morality mission.
First task? STFIsn't it tradition to get revenge on your ex-boss?

Speaking as someone who made a defender first then rolled a corruptor... Stick with corruptors.
/cast PFF to deflect rotten vegetables
No more tomatoes? Ok, cool. /splat! Awwwww.....
1. You get no scourge
2. Your defender inherent causes you to lose 30% of your overall damage when in teams larger than 4
3. You have lesser buff values as a corruptor, but right now in teams and solo, I find I'm not really asking for higher buff/debuff percentages on my trappers (yes, trappers for both corr and def). The corruptor values were fine enough when we were restricted to the Rogue Isles, and I find them fine enough when teaming in Paragon. You know... I think sometimes corruptor values are overkill for blue side.
4. As a rogue corruptor you sometimes get treated like a dps by teams. Pew pew pew /support pew pew!

Here's a few scenarios I can't wait to see:
1. Invite brute1, invite brute2, invite granitetank1. Someone says, "you sure about inviting 3 tanks? We won't have enough damage!"
2. "We need kin, Boggarts!" "Okies!" Invite kinetic melee toon. "Yarrrrr!"
3. Group already has tanker1. Me playing my brute. They advertise: "LFM need damage!" Me: "Okies! Sign me up!" Them: "No noob, u tank, we need dmg!" Me: "..." /emo -
Quote:I know you didn't list traps as one of your three, and I apologize if you don't like my advice, but I'll advocate traps for the scrappers-at-heart.I'm a scrapper at heart (kill everyone and let God sort it out), so I don't think I can stand spending too much time buffing teammates, which is why I've settled on these three. Insight would be appreciated.
1. FFG = status protection + endurance-free defense (aside from the initial cost of summoning the thing)
2. Seeker drones! Send them in to soak up the alpha, then jump right to melee range safe and sound
3. Poison gas trap. Plant one when you're in melee range so they'll easily trip over it
4. Acid mortar. Plant wherever you wish
5. HAIL OF BULLETS MWAHAHAHAHAHA!
6. Any other aoe power you have (either the cone or targeted aoe or both really)
7. Laugh like a maniac -
Quote:I think, for the most part, villains have learned to be self sufficient. I know if I get a string of unlucky hits on my widow, I hit f1-f5, whichever slot has a green on it. Oranges are great to use proactively as well.yah ...that is the dark side of this...sometimes you feel like a Doctor vs a DPSer on some teams... that's when I demand the leader get more heal support so i don't get all the work ...so i can use my well slotted DP butt kicking powers.
I'm debating whether or not to make my corruptors rogue, as I've gotten my fair share of "r u healer?" tells on my trapper defender. (Trapper proudly wears "lvl xx Trapper defender, LFT" as her comment.) I have less faith in blue side mentality when it comes to being open / tolerant of powersets. -
Quote:Support /= must have a heal.Wish I could help but I cant. I've always felt Corruptors are optimal on teams ..and most wanted to. Every Corr I have has had a team focused support that heals. I thought and felt it was a corrs job to range dps and support ...with that in mind I have always carried the healer type secondary pools for that purpose.
Damnit Jim I'm a doctor, not an elevator
I'm a doctor, not an engineer
I'm a doctor, not a historian
I'm a doctor, not a revolutionary
I'm a doctor, not a doorstop
Well I'm a corruptor, not a doctor -
First day in Nova Praetoria?
I have to say this:
Dominatrix > Ms. Liberty
She looks better in black and red I tell ya. -
Just curious, anyone going to defect and resign their commission?
-
My first level 50: a necromancy / dark miasma MM
Honestly officer, these walking corpses aren't evil! They're going to protect that orphanage over at 5th and 88th, and afterwards we're all inviting them over for cookies and story time!
Uh huh... Hey, that one looks like my recently deceased colleague, Sergeant Bill!
Um... er... you see, he's such a good public servant he's determined to stay in this world and help protect it!
...
You know now that you mentioned it, I'm seriously considering taking this necromancer over to blue side, because atlas park needs more zombies. -
Freedom has queues?! Are there 3 red lights instead of just 2 yellows beside the name?
Wow.... -

I have a dual pistols / traps (lvl 18) corr, a traps / dual pistols (lvl 40) def, and a 50 IO'ed huntsman / bane for my guns & gadgets toons.
DP / traps is so much better to level than the traps / dp defender. I strongly encourage you to try traps. Not that rad / dark / etc. aren't good, but traps is just so much fun and you feel like a dominator with scourge with it -
Just adding my thoughts on this: I hope they at least make it color tintable like invuln's unyielding (feel free to correct me if that's not the right power).
-
I too would argue that emps aren't easy. I got slapped a lot of times when I tried my pick up lines on several in the last Defender-con... A few of them six slotted flurry too.

Quote:Granted, because no one's SO level yet, much less IO + bonuses. Scrappers and tanks are barely sturdier than blasters.Given the difficulty of Going Rogue's missions and its low level range, a "pure" healer would actually fair better in Praetoria than in COX in general. That's not to say they are necessary, but there is a lot more death thrown around than in the main game.
Good empaths grow to be heals/buffs/added dps and are just awesome to have around. For that matter good defenders grow to be buffers/debuffers/dps.
Bad healers grow to be heals/stand around/shoot for 9 damage on their 1 slotted tier 1 attack.
Hopefully when more and more blue side healbots (not everyone plays both sides) see they're getting passed on for corruptors, masterminds, and defenders, they'll get the message. Experience is the best teacher, I hope.
