Fire/Rad GM help

Maybe GMs weren't created to be soloed, ever thought of that? :O
2. I'm not a number cruncher, so i'll leave the more expert players to fill in the blanks about damage and buffs etc.

The idea is, it's a melee powerset, but could also be a corruptor melee set (due to the long range)

Here goes:

Spring smash: You use your GOD DAMN SPRINGY ARMS to stretch them out, and SMACK THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS out of whatever's in your path. Long range melee move! basic power

Rubbery roundhouse: A long range, mid power roundhouse kick that even Chuck Norris himself would be proud of.

Constriction: You can coil your rubbery body around any opponent, doing damage over time! If this isn't possible to implement ingame, just make it so that the player shoots rubber which coils around the enemy.

Elastin body slam: You use your stretchy legs to shoot yourself up into the sky, and do a BRAIN SPLATTERING BODY SLAM onto your unsuspecting opponents below, so anything caught under your landing will be included in the damage.

Lissom lashing: You coil your elastic arms around an opponent, lift them up into the air and repeatedly smash them into the floor and nearby walls multiple times. Or if this isn't possible to implement ingame, you just repeatedly smack your opponent with you arms.

Bouncy blast: You curl up into a ball, and GOD DAMN HURL YOURSELF A THE SPEED OF SOMETHING FAST into a target, doing damage.

Rebound: You become impossible to knock over or stun, hold or any of that stuff. You can bounce back instantly from any attack no matter how strong, your recharge rate, recovery and regen are all improved, and afterwards you get the usual debuff associated with such moves (rage, elude, strength of will etc)

Self seal: Due to you being stretchy, you can close up any wounds in you exceedingly quickly, just like self-sealing tires when they get shot. This is a heal!

Ionic bonding: compounds with ionic bonds have far higher tensile strength, however are NOT flexible. This move increases your damage and ToHit for a duration, however slows you down as well. (it's akin to build up, etc)
3. Thanks for the build, it was my only motivation for making a widow! It's now level 14 and well on the way to becoming that uber DPS monster you created, x)
4. I15 is just a small patch with a new TF, costumes, and MA improvements and typo fixes what's the big deal about it?

I want new powersets with a new issue. SOMETHING big and cool.

lower level grind = faster epics
if they want to block farming, i suggest they do something about how slow leveling go's.

[/ QUOTE ]

Levelling has never been faster then now. It should be impossible for even a hardcore player without a job or school to get a 50 in a month!

[/ QUOTE ]

LOOOL! Don't be so elitist, CoX is successful because it's a casual MMO that casual players can take their time with, and hardcore players can happily grind up to 50 and purple themselves out on.

It's one of those rare games that CAN please everyone. If you break that, we're gonna see a lot of people leave, and i'm not a korean farmer i can't play 24/7 and if it took over a month to become 50 i'd be alot less incentivised to play.

Also, i agree with shockwave.

Fix Debt

better yet, if you die in a mission a random enhancement gets dropped by 1 level. any enhancement that hits 0 is gone for good.

now lets see what fully purpled toon is willing to rush in regardless of the odds

[/ QUOTE ]

Purples are fixed at one level so wouldnt affect us in any way whatsoever

Anyway im all for bringing back the good old debt!

[/ QUOTE ]

curses! foiled again! I would have gotten away with it if it werent for those meddling toons.....

but yes, debt is not something to be feared anymore. I miss the fear. Its still there to a certain degree as my squishy blaster runs ina panic to escape the heavy melee mobs that regularly crush him but then he drops and the debt is paid off in less than one encounter....

Older MMOs had looting. you had to get back to your corpse before someone else looted it. That was a great incentive not to die (or at the least have a few mates you trusted laong with you). I think there should be a "hardcore" option in CoX where being defeated has more of an effect on you:

loss of inf (hey, you gain it for winning, shouldnt you
lose it for failing?),

loss of inf for failing missions,

deletion of random salvage piece,

deletion of random recipe

reduction in effectiveness of random enhancement.

The player signs up to what effects they are willing to suffer. in return they gain more inf / gain slightly better rewards etc. (shiney badges anyone? Hardcore Hero or Victorious Villain.... )

make it optional so it doesnt take away from the fun of those that dont want it. But in any case, I do agree that, at the least the punishing debt rules should be brought back. make survival something to be happy about and not just a bragging right.

[/ QUOTE ]

No, no and no. CoX isn't a hardcore MMO where you suffer huge losses of valuable stuff for dying, which is why it appeals to me.

If i wanted to drop all my equipment, money, jewels and weapons everytime i died, i'd play lineage 2. (which i do)

The game rewards your consistent hard work and grinding with level 50. It may not be something for YOU to look forward to anymore, because you KNEW what it was like to have fear of debt.

New players, who have no previous experience of this aren't going to see it the same way, so just leave it how it is.

And also, no to the guy that suggested death penalties. people would just constantly buy the cure for them (as per scroll of recovery in L2) and it would have no effect.

It's also another incentive to shove off aggro onto other people, and to be what people in L2 call 'Care bears'

I do not want that happening, the game is fine as it is.
7. I don't agree. Only the Sith deal in absolutes, remember that. There are shades of grey, so to say.

the devs ONLY want to cull the ABUSIVE farming, in other words, farming that takes it to the extreme, (e.g 1-30 in 1 hour).

I understand this, but locking people's toons is a bit draconic. Level 50 toons, provided the person playing them is knowledgable in the game, can contribute to the community (helping lowbie players) and help the market (farming increases supply and demand of inf and recipes)
8. I swapped aid self for elude. That's about all i did to it, and i swapped the hecatomb and put it into slash, and put asrmageddon into eviscerate. gave elude a luck of the gambler set. Also i put an adjusted targetting set into follow up.

I think this way it still has tons of recharge and the defense is excellent, but can still have 3 minutes of godmode from elude xP

Quick question, why did you put a chance for build up in the follow up move? Will it stack with follow up if the chance % is successful?
9. Right, but with the dominator buffs coming, at least it's performance in battle will go up right? I mean i think they're making the damage buff from domi inherent.

Either way, thanks for the build, hopefully one day i'll make it a reality, although i'm really working on getting Archon specc'd out, followed by my currently lvl 5 SS/WP brute.

That's the one i plan to make a ton of inf on xP. Then i'll see about a domi. Also got a multi billion inf Night Widow DPS build on the horizon.
10. Abusive farming i agree CAN be detrimental to the game play, but since i am a firm advocate of farming, i gotta defend the point that it still contributes to the market and creates supply and demand.

If there was no farming, there would be alot less inf and recipes going into the market, so just as in real life, whether anyone likes it or not they can still have a positive effect.

For seasoned veteran players going from 1-50 in a day, this isn't as bad as a newbie player going from 1-50 in a day. veterans will likely use this to make farming characters to make more infamy, or a pvp char.

Newbies however, will be running around at lvl 50 with 6 slotted brawl and rest powers asking how to get to grandville. THIS i agree is bad.

There is a good and bad side to farming, and i think the pros outweigh the cons.

Don't be upset because your pc isn't as good as mine

[/ QUOTE ]

Rofl!
ITT Razor haz gud 'puter.
'Hey guise, I can haz game upgraded becus muh pc iz relly gud?'

If the Dev's decided to add a few settings, fine as long as the time spent on something that only few people could use doesn't detract from the time spent on what most, if not everyone can use.

In any case, I'll wait for a game which is worth upgrading my rig for.

[/ QUOTE ]

Well what's worth upgrading your rig for is subjective. Personally i usually don't play a game unless i can run it on full gfx smoothly. This is of course aside Crisis.
12. <blockquote><font class="small">En réponse à:<hr />
Thats the point, technically its not doing anything terrible except making you take at least 10 days to get from 1-50, in my opinion that isnt a bad thing.

Yes the first ten levels are going to go fast as I said but I'm sure you and several other people are sick of seeing level 50s that don't have a clue about anything other than how to MA farm, with no vet badges and no experience.

However unpopular it maybe, its a solution that gets players out of farming one part of the game and actually encourage them to do TF's and other game content other than to get purples at 50.

I agree games should let players be free but look what free got us at i14s release. A massive injection of level 50s in less than a day. That kind of makes a mockery of all the people who worked hard to level there charecter before that.

[/ QUOTE ]

What if they don't want to do anything other than MA farm? And so what if there is an injection of 50's, i enjoy having more high level players.

If it happens the lvl 50 guys don't know what grandville is, i'll just give them a slap on the wrist and teach them everything i know. Think of it as a crash course in how to play COV, they lvl to 50 fast, start farming and we teach them how to play after they're 50.

It may sound crazy, but the morre farmers, the more that recipes and enhancements goes into the market.

And tbh i don't like TFs, and there is already enough incentive to 'experience other content' such as rewards and merits. If these generous concepts are failing to incentivise players to play that stuff, i think that says more about what players want to do.
13. Well as i remember you are one of the more knowledgable experts at this game, so i have good reason to trust a build you made. Hopefully soon enough i'll make my 1st dom and turn it into that build x) I'm gonna try playing around with some more expensive sets in it

cya around the rogue isles i guess xP
14. Hehe, thanks for providing a template for a good build xP. I trust it would make good for farming?

it seems beastial to me x)

I'm sure Manowar have all the names you will ever need for powers.

DIE FOR METAL!!!!

(8) They can't stop us, let 'em try, for heavy metal WE WILL DIE (8)
16. This is a bad idea in my opinion.

As soon as i saw the word 'force' i lost hope in your suggestion. Games should let players be free. Not force them to do anything. This inclused farming, however not to abusive levels.
17. You're right, but it'd be a good luxury xP. I've never played a Dom before, so i was really just lookin to get some help with a mids build. Surge does seem to kill ya when it wears off xP
18. Don't be upset because your pc isn't as good as mine, this isn't what my suggestion is about.

I appreciate fully well some people are running COV on prehistoric PCs.
19. Wow nice build, is there anything that can do that much damage, AND have perma surge of power?
20. This build is amazing, thanks for making it availible vald to uncreative naablets like me in need of uber builds.
21. This build looks beasty, i wish i could contribute but the only attempy i ever made at a WS ended up broken when u hit 50. I don't have the inf to respec it.

Is there gonna be an improved version of eleven's 2nd build in here? it looks good enough to me for combat use, but whatever's best x)

Mids Steps Down

[ QUOTE ]
Mids has probably changed the way people play CoX more than anything else, thanks!

[/ QUOTE ]How so? There were other planners before it, Mids' is just the newest one in the line. Of course it's much improved over the previous ones, but it's not that revolutionary as a concept.

[/ QUOTE ]

because mids is the best one
23. Well tbh folks games in graphics are getting better, and upgrading your ancient computers is becoming NECESSARY.

25. Yeah, you got the idea Mister! I don't want a major overhaul, just a restyling if you will.
