I have a lot of alts, but my Ill/Rad will always be my main. I bring her out when everything else fails.

Quote:Maybe that is excactly the reason why he was asking? You are leaving out something important.
How much -recharge does each do.
The Bane/Soldier/huntsman version is much more powerful in that respect.
Also costs, animation times should be taken into consideration.
Next time include all the information, and you will see that WAWG is superior. -
Yeah sorry I mixxed the terms up, since I am no native speaker. What I meant is, that they have see invis and don't have +range that comes with perception.
-
Drones don't have +perception, they just see invis. Snipers have +perception.

Quote:I totally agree! I have a few incarnates but I still have alts that I want to level up.Anyone else find it amusing that the people who were saying they don't want this game to turn into an endless grinding raidfest, where no one ever wants to do anything below the level cap........are some of the same people who are now opposing lower level TFs being added into the WST cycle?
There are quite a few people in the game who don't even have ONE level 50 character. They should just be ignored here so you can keep grinding shards on your 36 level 50s?
1) If they only made level 50 TFs eligible for the WST, those 4 TFs would get old quick. Or, rather even older, since they've all been around a while.
2) If only level 50 TFs were ever WSTs it would be next to impossible for someone running a level 30 character to generate any interest in a low level TF, because end game is what you do.
3) I suspect that the WST was going to happen anyway, and the Notice being available was an afterthought, because the Rare and Very Rare were ready, but the Trials meant to award it weren't yet.
I also don't really think the Incarnate system was really designed with the casual player in mind. Sure, they can do it if they want, but it really seems more like the devs' response to the people who have been complaining that there was nothing to do once you got to 50 for several years now. Most casual players don't actually play enough to get bored with it that quickly. -
The Malta Black Panther one. But not because it's hard, because I hate the wait in between the ambushes. It's like doing a Respec Trial with no team to talk to
-
Can't completely agree there. While Empathy is a great buff set, yes, it's not entire true that when it doesn't "work" other sets would not be that much better anyways. Sometimes you really need debuffs.

Quote:Really can't agree with TA being meh. It is a better controller secondary than a defender primary.... at least it is for me. Love my elec/TA.I like most of them, but which is my favorite depends on what character I'm on, and what the team needs most. There's a few that I'm not too fond of though. Trick arrow, because it is just meh. Cold domination, because while it's awesome, I don't like the ice-cube shields covering up my costume. Any of my softcapped characters find bubblers useless.
-
My vote: Cold, Traps, Rad and Thermal.
-
You forgot Thermal, same regen debuff values than benumb and LR
-
Seems it really depends on AT if you can beat him. Had no problems on my DB/WP Scrapper and my Elec/TA Controller. It helps allot if you still have the FFG with you.
-
Elec/TA works very well for me. And this is coming from someone that has mostly /Rad Trollers, this is my first /TA and loving it.
-
Cool thing about Earth/Rad is the stacking -defense. You can just hit normally with temps/vets, so I was able to solo mine pretty fast.
-
Thanks all, that's giving me something to work with.

So, how does this look

Hi,
I need some help with my DB/WP, I am unsure what to go for (s/l Defense or HP/Regen. Much recharge is only needed for AVs, right?). This character is meant for general PvE (no AVs) and will be my next incarnate.
I read some threads here but most of them are for AV soloing where recharge is needed. Not sure if that's what I need to aim for too. I did plan some LotG+Rech but I am mostly unsure about how to slot my attacks and toggles.
Any help would be appreciated. -
Dark/Ice is already considered classic?
-
No, after experiencing this for several times, it just happens in the middle of some missions. Maybe it has something to do with my Oil Slick Arrow and the Gremlins being scarred of it. I can dismiss them though, it's just usually one of them that just stands around.
-
I went with Expedient Reinforcement myself. What I do note and bugged today that for some reason several times one of them just refuse to follow and I have to recast them. And it's not getting stucked.

Quote:Completely agree there. I love Willpower and lost interrest in Regen when it came out.I kinda feel that way about Willpower as a set for melee type characters.
Every Melee character that I have played always seems (to me) that pairing it with Willpower would make it better to play. I LOVE the way Willpower is so "hands off" and you can focus on just beating stuff up. My two highest melee toons are both Willpower, and I could easily see myself making a WP/** or **/WP of every melee set at some point.
As a side note, when I first started playing this game back in 2004, I could have adopted this same feeling about regen, but quickly lost "faith" in regen due to all the changes forced onto it. Willpower IS what Regeneration SHOULD have been (and vice versa). -
Quote:I noticed RL females tend do play more emps than whatnot. Not sure whyt that is so, since I am female too and I don't have a single emp. I am more the offensive one ;p (Rad, Dark Miasma or melee)This morning I was talking with my wife, who told me her latest empathy character (Disco Diva) is 6 bubbles away from 50. Out of curiosity I asked her how many 50 empathy type characters did she have...well she started counting and between defenders and controllers nine, with lots of others in their 20s and 30s etc. Now I have read a lot of negetivity about "healors", and how boring they are to play. So I asked Jen why Empathy? She said, I can always be of help no matter what the situation. Damage heal, standing around in a PvP zone clear mind the blasters, in Atlas Park chatting forting and ABing the lowbies, plus she is always on a team.
So I am curious does anyone else have this obsession not with an archtype, but with a power set, and why? I think the results might be intresting to read. -
Quote:And Stealth still has a movement penalty. Good idea as Local Man said is going with Super Speed and a Celerity Stealth in it or a Blessing of the Zephyr KB Prot IO, if you don't have any def/res powers to slot other KB IOs in it. You could slot a Stealth IO in Sprint too.Think of "stealth" as "half invisibility." You need two halves to be fully invisible. Many powers give half invis, like Steamy Mist, Arctic Fog, Shadowfall, Shadow Cloak and Stealth. You need to add another half to get full invisibility. You can get that from a Stealth IO or from Super Speed.
You may want to consider using Super Speed instead of Stealth. Stealth does just stealth, but Super Speed provides Stealth AND fast travel AND an additional place to put some nice IOs. If I'm looking for full invisibility on a character, I will often use Super Speed with a Celerity Stealth slotted into it.
