acid mortar wheels request

Could we get some wheels on acid mortar so it could follow you? Would be very helpful especially at lower lvls. And no i don't mean a tiny car for it to ride in..although i wouldn't be against that. Give it some high beams and have it flash it's brights at npcs. Acid mortar has blinded you with it's high beams. You take a few seconds to figure out what's going on as you stare into the light. But seriously just wheels on it would great! Thanks!

I'd rather it had four little spidery legs to wander around on. That'd be cool. Not Arachnos styled, just generic tech legs. I don't see it working as a hover-er like the Gun turrets or such.

To add mobility could potentially sacrifice from its other qualities, and I would not want that to happen.

That would be ideal.

I had great dreams of team-teleporting in with traps already out.

I would sacrifice recharge time for mobility in a game where most enemies run away from my trapper...

Caltrops, web nade, poison trap, mortar, overwhelming laser death show.
Profit

The only problem I have with Traps is that they aren't very practical in fast teams. I can only stand playing my Demons/Traps solo or with a friend so that I can control the pace to be slow enough for my Traps to tag along... I realize they're incredibly powerful in an immobile battle but most of the game has you running through maps which makes it a little annoying to play.

Hmn, I'd say you're doing something wrong, then.
Enemies not watching you? Toe-bomb with Trip Mine.
Caltrops, good for crowd control.
Acid mortar, pretty much up every mob/every other mob.
FF Gen, always useful.
Poison Trap, see Trip Mine.
Detonator, mini-nuke.

Alpha handles just fine in our SGs teams, and believe me, they steamroller and I don't have a problem 'keeping up'.

I have an aversion for immobile pets, myself. I'd personally love to see both Acid Mortar and Triage Beacon be made mobile. The arguments that this means they'd have to lose performance assume that the powers are balanced by annoyance, which is a balancing metric I like to believe isn't actually being used.

Given that Acid Mortar basically gives you a device which basically fires Acid Arrows (from Trick Arrow) really, really fast it's probably a reality that it is being counterbalanced by the fact it cannot move.

It wasn't back in the day. But with minimal recharge investment you can already have mutliple out. So I prefer to have multiple of them instead of one that is mobile.
