/petcomall stay (or at least that's my keybind...never really got down and dirty with individual keystroke commands for individual pets)

still doesn't avoid the "Hey, boss! I'm gonna run up to that guy over there and smack him in the face! Cool? Cool!" for very long...unless you've got them in Stay/Passive.

The moment you sic'em on someone...they'll move close enough to begin attacking...and then normal stooooooooooopid AI kicks in. If you have it key bound...you MIGHT be able to stop them if you mash on it for about a half dozen times.

    Edit:

Just to toss this out there...my normal keybinds look about like this...

    /bind shift+d petcomall def (defensive)
    shift+s petcomall stay
    shift+g petcomall goto
    shift+f petcomall follow
    shift+a petcomall att
    shift+r petcomall aggressive (think rrRRRAAAAHHHH...battle cry...type...thing...hence my using R)
shift+q petcomall pass (think Q...for QUIT IT!!)

For me...this has been the easiest setup for my MM's. Seeing that since my left hand is already on the w,s,a,d,q,r keys for movement, it's a simple thing to just add a press of the shift key for commands. Plus, the f and g keys are right there...so they work for my follow and goto...especially since i never use F for follow target anyway...it's usually a travel power (ninja run most often).

Just...freakin' THIS! My Earth/Earth dom was a monster. Good controls coupled with hitting like a freight train. ....Hmmm.....Plant/Earth.....<runs off to character creation>
  5. Give us the Beta Bug back. This will solve EVERYTHINGGGGGG!

Well...ok...maybe not...but that was still a pretty kickarse bug.

For those that might not know/remember...

Back in beta (closed beta as i recall), the Swap Ammo function worked off a single button, and instead of being able to pick and choose which ammo you want like you can now, instead you cycled through the different ammos. I think the order was something like Standard, Incindiary, Cryo, Chem...or....something. ANYWAY...You could actually trick the game by using a combination of the Swap ammo and the Walk power to load up all three "exotic" ammo types (Incend., Cryo, and Chem) at the same time. The result was you'd get the damage from the lethal plus the fire damage (just the up front portion tho...no dot), cold damage, and toxic damage. Though i think, iirc, one of the powers (HoB, maybe) actually ended up getting a little gypped on overal damage potential. Still...taking out LT's in the same number of shots it would normally take a minion (2-3)...oof.
  6. At the moment, all i've got is a staff/sr scrapper, and so far enjoying it quite a bit more than i expected. I'll probably get around to making a staff/elec brute (most likely yet another variation of my namesake) and a staff/nin stalker. I've never gotten very far with /sr or /nin...so i'm interested to see how these two will go.

    QFT

I've also got a TW/EA brute that can chew through end like nobody's buisness, even with 2 end redux in each aoe attack and at least one in the ST's. Energy Drain is a godsend. Plus, with it's fairly quick base recharge (1 min) it's not hard to get it down to ~30 seconds or less, so it can pretty much be there when you need it. The +def it gives you now is just icing on the cake.

I've never really been big on defensive sets, and tended to lean heavily on resistance, but EA is doing a pretty good job of converting me. So much so i've rolled up a Staff/SR scrapper...and i haven't made an SR toon since shortly after i started playing this game some 6 years ago.

StJ can be heavy on the blue too if you use the aoe finishers a lot (that little orange ring is SUCH a temptation). And many of the other attacks recharge fairly quick. Not as quickly as say, claws, but quickly enough to keep up an almost endless barrage. Coupled with toggle heavy sets...yeah...you WILL burn out PDQ unless you slot for end redux...at least till you get energy drain. Or you roll up a staff/EA toon and lean heavily on form of the soul. Yeah...it's that good.

    On topic:

Tonight i got my SF/SR scrapper up to level 16, and i have to say...it's turning out better than i thought it would. First few levels were kinda meh. The power anims are nice, though i'm not sure about the sounds. Personally i'd prefer more of a smack (think Onimusha 2 sponge stick sound...) than what we got...but i can live with it.

Then i hit level 8. Yeah...gotta say. Total game changer right there. Been largely using Form of the Soul (tho i have followed, i think it was BrandX's method of form hopping a bit), and wow. That end discount is HUGE! Now i understand the "no endurance worries" remarks.

I gotta admit...i did slam in some DO's...and...35% melee defense at level 16 is just sick. Even on day-old DO's (-1).

I tried /SR years ago and it left a bad taste in my mouth, and swore me off of defense sets for years. I've since ventured more into defense, and decided to give SR another go. So far...i'm not regretting it.

    So yes...so far...i like Staff.

Side note: Will have to take out one of my soul caliber games and see if i can manage a Kilik cloning...

In exchange you get bonuses that, while none of them suck, are not really all that stellar either. Form of the body, the one everyone seems to think is the best form only gives you an 18% damage bonus at tier 3 - and you are NOT going to have that up all the time, as it drops off between fights, takes 3 attacks to build up and is going to be lost everytime you use a finisher. I suspect you are going to be averaging 10%-12% damage bonus at best and thats on a scrapper - stalkers, brutes and tanks get a lot less benefit. While it sounds good, I don't think it quite make up for the loss of the to hit boost and burst damage from build up (and doesn't even begin to compare to soul drain, follow up or blinding feint).
While this does apply to scrappers, brutes, and tanks...stalkers get a permanant Form of Body AND build up. Which only helps the "this is best on stalkers" argument.

Save for one small difference...and it can be a nasty one. Mass Confusion does not draw aggro. Seeds of Confusion...DOES! So anything that is either missed by seeds, or wasn't effected by seeds (ie bosses if not in dommy mode), will most likely turn around and try to make you into a smear. I've had this happen a few times. Not that it mattered to me much...i was still giggling from the chaos i'd just created.

    Psionic Armor

I also couldn't help but notice a distinct lack of mez resistance in planet j's psy armor. probably a slight oversight during the write up, and something easily added to (and most likely intended) mental fortitude.

  16. I know it's most likely been said a ba-million times in thread already but...with a thread this friggin long...i'm just not gonna look for it and spout this...

    TW....(death)SCYTHE...

    ...that is all...for now.
  17. Blaster: En/En or Fire/Fire Both are pretty staple...

Defender: TA/Archery ....cuz everyone has that guy with the funky arrows...

Scrapper: Claws/Regen ...Cuz what you do ain't very nice...

    Tanker: Invuln/SS ...It's a plane...

Controller: Mind Control/Empathy ...Cuz you're gifted...

Dominator: Plant Control/Thorn Assault ...damn eco-freak... (Also see EG and ILLUSION!)

Mastermind: Thugs or Ninjas/Traps (even if i don't have a traps toon) ...Because both thugs and ninjas come in endless supply.

Brute: see Tanker ...cuz their big, strong, tough as hades....and usually dumb as a brick...unless it's Bane...

Stalker: NB or DB/Nin ...Cuz all you'll see is a glimmer...and then you're dead...

Corruptor: Fire/Thermal ...zippo lighter not included...
  18. A completely original work by me:

I could have live my life and been full of merries...
To log in and never see Statesman's lack of twig and berries.
But lo, I must run program and see...
Statesman's crotch staring back at me.
Boldly displayed by the proud hero...
Flaunting a bulge of approximately zero.
This image is forever burned into my eyes...
Why oh why couldn't it have been Sister Psyche's thighs?

    .....Oh...right....Manticore......

    Huh...thought i saw a thread here. <shrugz> Ah well...MMMMMMMMMMMOVING ON!
  20. Honestly, after the last few pages of reading the stuff between uber, reppu, and darth...i'm starting to wonder if this could possibly degenerate into a Benny Hill chase scene.

'Cuz if it is...i'm gonna need popcorn and beer.

well....yeah.....now that you mention it....more "theme-y" than set...

    .......eh <shrugz>
  23. I'd have to say...electric...

Most, if not all, are variations on my namesake (minus the X...had to add that for forum name).

Raiken: Elec/Dev/Elec blaster (wierd combo, huh?)
    Dark Raiken: EL/EL/Mu Brute
Raiken the Stalker: EL/EL/Soul Stalker (who woulda guessed)
Dom Raiken: EL/EL Dominator (bit of a patten forming here)
    Kin Rai: KM/EL stalker
    Kinetic Raiken: KM/EL scrapper.
Raiken the Summoner Demon/Thermal/Mu Mastery (eventually) mastermind.
Gunslinger Raiken: DP/EL/Munitions (I couldn't resist the "fwoosh BOOM" of LRM) blaster (pictured in my avatar)

All of them follow the same basic look...short...white hair (wild)...with a white tail (OMG i was so thrilled when we finally got animated tails!)

    Limitations? No and no.

I've only ever really done airborn MA before...and it's been a good while since i've played that toon. So...I can't really comment on a comparison.
