Hell no. I like to use my keyboard shortcuts, thank you very much.
Make it an option, maybe, but remove my ability to rapidly unload inspirations on a teammate in trouble, and I will be very miffed. -

On a more practical note, is there a way to get the member list or the ophood of private channels without being in them?
-
Exactly. If the timeout thing pans out, pretty much all channels that constantly had to move can return to their original naming.
-
Same reason as Virtue United, actually - the name is shorter, and thus more accessible to newcomers. VLFG Alpha was purely a byproduct of the overcrowding issue to begin with.
-
You can always try to form and run your own PUGs as well - with the expanded mission roster, you can read the mission briefings as you get the missions themselves and even before you start forming the team.
I've found that few people mind if you take a minute to read the description, though. -
Does anyone know who's modding the original Virtue LFG channel nowadays? Seems it's gone private, and I'm considering trying to wrest control from the current owner in case chan_timeout ever gets fixed.

Quick check - are you running the installer with administrator privileges? The installation needs it to write a few keys to the registry.
-
Personally, I've been using it to unload starting influence on unsuspecting newbies. Downside is, now I'm dirt poor.

My natural is using teleport that's essentially piggybacking on a hijacked Medicom carrier signal - that thing is so full of security holes it's not even funny.
-
So wait, let me see if I got this right...
There's a command that automatically drops people from a global channel if they haven't logged in in the past X days?
But it doesn't work? -
I swear to god, that thing's eyes are looking in opposite directions.

Are we limited to any set number of questions? Also, when is "morning" exactly? Preferrably in CET time.
-
I keep my teleport pads in a series of color-coded rooms, ranging from green to purple.
Alphabetical sounds nice too. Hard to come up with an intuitive marking scheme for that, though. -
Short answer? Yes.
Longer answer? You probably already have.
I17 has been in the pre-download phase for a few days now - there'll be the actual issue patch once I17 hits live, but the resources are already on automatic download. That, or they will try to download once you've started the game and then exited it.
PS: They let you play computer games in Australia? {ducks} -
So far, completed each and every mission from each and every contact once, on my AR/Dev blaster - I'm up to Lv40 on my tanker, and mopping up loose ends on my Lv35 archery/mentalist.
So yep, you're not alone. -
As someone who three-slotted each of his earth/kin powers with a endurance SOs, and still ends up wheezing every other fight, I have to say that slotting don't work, especially when you exemplar to pre-stamina levels.

Response to that little non sequitur aside, I actually rather like AE. Or rather, I like the idea of it. The execution, like almost any other prototype, no matter how well thought out, sucked when implemented for the first time.
I don't mind the farms as long as they present a commensurate challenge. I openly point and laugh at anyone complaining about an exploit patch. But I also want better AE. Between the bugs and limitations, it has become nearly impossible to find a good arc - good by your definition - among the sea of worthless crud - again, by your definition.
There is no way to stand out. Farmers will want their lewt, and let them, but some of us are writing for the benefit of prestige, and no matter how much effort you put into an arc, the popularity and exposure of that arc will ultimately be a result of happenstance. For example, I have an arc that has over nine hundred ratings, and I can count negative comments on the fingers of one hand, but well over two thirds of those ratings are from teams I assembled and ran with myself. Word-of-mouth or being marked as a developer's choice is the only way of rising above the masses, and for both of these you need either abnormal amount of promotional effort, or spectacular luck.
But regardless, I have hopes. It's very easy to draw the parallels between AE and the City of Heroes as a whole. They both began promising, but clunky and flaw-ridden, and like the game itself, I have faith that one by one, those flaws will be hammered out and improved on. -
Quote:I support all of these except Miss Mab - fun comic, but I can't picture it in the CoH context.hmm. My list of people other than myself?
Randy from Something Positive. Wouldn't mind seeing his snide look on SuperHero's coming to CoH: www.superstupor.com
Amber from Miss Mab: Okay, the Furry side of the costumes would need some work to give her characters justice, but what would happen if Dan was sent to stop Dominatrix?
Phil and Kaja from Girl Genius: Do I even need a proper reason for wanting a shot at the Baron? He's obviously a Science origin Invuln tank with super strength. Gonna need some ball-gowns for Agatha though!
Howard from Schlock Mercenary: Time to paint AE a nice shade of BLAM! -
Quote:Just to note, while I'm not sure whether all missions have a X4/X9 upper limit, there's quite a few missions that have a lower bracket that isn't a multiplier of five./macro XP "option_toggle noxp"
Click the 'XP' macro to turn off XP when at level x+4.9 where x is a multiple of 5 (i.e. level 9.9, 14.9, 29.9, etc. etc.). Complete all contacts/missions/Mayhems in that level range. Click macro again, move on. Repeat every 5 levels.
As for the hunting missions, if you're a completionist, it helps to have a high-level mentor to give you a boost - having a few dozen levels' advantage over the mobs tends to streamline hunting missions a bit. I usually look for Lv50s in Atlas or Pocket D and ask them {politely} if they'd mind sidekicking me for a while. -
Personally, I think we should get some more background on why the 5th is back before this gets implemented, but on the whole, yeah, it sounds pretty cool.
