Remove Hot Keys from Pop-Up Menus
Agreed. I've managed to accidentally delete several tabs and quit private global channels twice because this random pop-up menu appears during a fight and before I can do anything I've somehow quit a channel. I've managed to catch myself before that happens several other times. It's very annoying, especially when you've got to then track down a channel mod.

I hate this so damn much. The ammount of times I've had to ask for an invite back to a private channel due to deleting it from my tabs due to spaztastic right mouse button is rediculous. Glad Im not the only one bugged by this.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

But you don't notice, and you're moving around, and your finger hits that 'E' key or 'D' key and suddenly you've got a new window in your face or something is just gone.
Why? Why do our pop-up menus have hotkeys - and more importantly, why are these hotkeys so commonly clustered around the keys the game defaults for movement in the WASD style? |
T: Target window
C: Chat window
N: Navigator window
I can't think of any others in the default keybinds, and the only one that's close to WASD is C, a slip of the finger away from D. And all it does is hide the chat window; pressing C again brings it back. You're also free to change the binding on those keys, and you don't even need to know the /bind command to do it - simply look under "Options".
Oh, and neither E nor D do anything with windows. E is "+turn_right" and D is "+right".
As for "why?" It's to allow you the freedom to hide unimportant parts of your UI while you're trying to fight.

Hell no. I like to use my keyboard shortcuts, thank you very much.
Make it an option, maybe, but remove my ability to rapidly unload inspirations on a teammate in trouble, and I will be very miffed.
I'd like to have the ability to turn off dropdown menu hotkeys, myself. Considering right-click is both the button to open context dropdowns and the button to initiate mouselook, I open dropdowns by accident all the time, and half the time I don't even know what I initiate afterwards. One time I did this the game asked me if I really wanted to remove a person from my friends list. Um, NO!
Have an option for it somewhere in the settings. That should be enough.

Let's see... default window toggle keys:

This would only affect right-clicking something, then pressing a key to do something with it. Not macros, not keybinds, not toggles. Only right-clicking.
Eiko is correct, and reffering to the menus you get when you right click on any of the windows/tabs. When using the mouse to turn the facing camera (Q and E tend to be either too slow or go too far/too little) it is fairly frequent that is has a little hissy fit and brings up the tabdropdown menu and, when moving, this tends to result in something being deleted. Which is really annoying. T, C and N and the other hotkeys work fine, and dont get in the way.

G for giving the inspiration to the person you have targeted. Rapidly hitting right-click and G lets me give a bunch of inspirations to a teammate with just the attention of moving the cursor over the next inspiration.

Although, on second thought, maybe I could. Other things you might want to do fast, but do you really need to delete things "RIGHT NAO"?
Stay calm. Squeeze the trigger don't force it.
Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
I still think the added convenience this brings is outweighed by the cost of having the "D" hotkey, and I can't really see just removing the Delete one.

Disable it? No thanks.
Put in an option to disable it? Absolutely.
Hotkeys from pop-up menus, not window toggle keys. I'm not talking about those. I'm talking about the right-click menu, where you get the options to "Delete" something - salvage, recipes, inspirations, chat tabs.

Hmm, I would assume the various popup menus in the UI are defined similarly to the QuickChat menu. So, (in theory) /popmenu name] would open the same menu under your current mouse location. If you could figure out the correct name, you could modify the popup menu yourself, sans mnemonic.
I don't know for certain that it would work, nor what the names are, but it's a possibility. It's more complicated than a simple menu option, but something is better than nothing, eh?

We've all done it; you're playing along, maybe have a few windows open, or just in a hectic fight, and inevitably you accidentally right-click on something and the pop-up menu appears. But you don't notice, and you're moving around, and your finger hits that 'E' key or 'D' key and suddenly you've got a new window in your face or something is just gone.

I'd be happy to just do away entirely with these hotkeys so I don't accidentally delete things (be they recipes, salvage, chat tabs, or what have you) while playing the game, and the least I could ask for is for the UI to be designed as to not purposely sabotage you while playing the game.
Take the hotkeys out of the pop-up menus. They add so little convenience and cause such huge problems that they simply aren't worth having.
(At the very least, the game should not automatically remove you from a private global channel just because you delete a chat tab.)
