  1. Just a quick question - I remember the Devoured summoning Swarms and the Storm Shamen summoning stormclouds... yet while I've been playing recently, both have completely failed to do so. I'm not complaining, really, but I don't remember any patch notes mentioning changes to either. Is it a bug, and if so, is it a known one?
  2. Your best option would be to ask in the forums of the servers you're interested in playing on - Virtue and Freedom might be your best bet if you're looking for high activity.

    That's... a lot of merits.

    {also, I apparently miss all the interesting conversations}

    ---codes---

How often are the code packs released, anyhow?

    Going Rogue

I think only people currently in the Going Rogue closed beta could answer that, and they're prevented from doing so by the NDA.
  6. Basically, the Cottage Rule states that, while any given power may be changed in some way or another, the basic principle of said power should remain. I think the name stems from a post by one of the devs making a hypothetical example of a power that originally held an enemy being changed so that instead summons a small cottage.
  7. At least it's not a gazebo. Those things are deadly.
  8. I go looking for newbies to unload money on, or log onto my kineticist and buff sewer teams. Sometimes, on a very rare occasion, I go looking for badges.
  9. Half of those don't make sense at all, and some of those remaining have been requested before but have been shot down because of not being supported by the game engine.

You can turn the enemy levels up if you only outlevel it a bit, but that's not always a perfect solution, and it only works if you're not that high past the arc.
Another, much simpler* solution would be to allow the arcs, and in fact all missions from outleveled contacts to exemplar you to the maximum level that particular mission is available at. You're Lv37, but want to run Wincott or even Meg Mason? Just talk to them and they'll offer you their mission, with a little disclaimer in the briefing that selecting this mission as active will exemplar you to LvWhatever. That way, all content in the game {and there's lots of it - WAY more than most people think} remains accessible no matter how high your character level goes.

Also, more of a bug than a QoL improvement, but fix the eff-damned Help channel!

*at least from the gameplay dynamics standpoint, SCR applies as always

    Contiguous map

    Couldn't care less, sorry.
  12. If you're playing blueside and looking to be the muscle, Scrappers and Blasters are the most damage-heavy archetypes. I'd recommend going with a scrapper first, as it is the easiest archetype to pick up on while you're getting your feet wet. Blasters are {usually} bigger on the AoE potential, but are also a lot squishier. Of course, with the amount of character slots you have available, you can roll a bunch of characters and try everything out.

Oh, and welcome to City of Heroes - both the game and the forums.

I did once, when I bought an European version of a booster pack instead of US.

To be fair, for some people the game simply isn't fun. Just as we might like game for our reasons, someone else may dislike it for those same reasons themselves.

As someone playing and paying from the butt end of Yurp, I can attest that you don't.

I support this idea. Or anything, in fact, that reduces the hassle of enhancement replacement.
  19. And... anything else? Anything at all?
  20. Back at you... what makes D&D and CoH similar?
  21. But to your question - how would the ability to slot for 100%, instead of 95% chance to hit {against most enemies, at least} harm game balance? Or to turn your argument back to you, what balance purpose does the current 5% chance to miss serve?

In real world, that would certainly be a good explanation. But in superhero genre, physics and other stuff tends to take a back seat to enjoyment and flair.
  24. Well, if they have high enough an accuracy or our defense is bottomed out, why not?

Let me restate - I do not propose the removal of critical hits. The 5% chance to hit no matter what should remain.

I think you're confusing "hit" and "miss". Reread my original post, please.
