But to be able to rapidly bring those two bars to full - I can see why there would be some sort of recharge timer on it.
I have to disagree - I fail to see why it would not be exactly what the name says, and being simply resting. Break out the band-aids, stop and catch your breath - the resistance and defense debuffs {what are they, 1000% each?} imply that you're completely dropping your defenses in order to basically take a break from the fight and tend to yourself, rather than remaining on your toes and ready for a fight. If it was called, I dunno, Rapid Reconstruction or something, you might have a point, but as things stand, Rest doesn't seem to fit your premise thematically or functionally.
  2. I'd have to say that I would be a Hero reactively, and vigilante proactively.

Rescuing innocents from mortal danger would take priority over everything, but I would apply myself to exposing and removing the corrupt elements of the system, the linchpins of inequities that any legal framework is ultimately designed to protect. I'd probably focus on making examples of petty warlords of various third-world countries, likely repeatedly until whoever rose to power learned from earlier examples. The "do not kill" rule would be the only one I would follow without exception, but mostly for pragmatic reasons - while killing a person robs them of their chance to redeem themselves, it also robs the irredeemable of the chance to suffer.

    How Rubbery...

It's been suggested from time to time - however, I honestly don't think it would be possible to pull off without a complete overhaul of the game engine, especially in the way the game renders objects.
  4. Yes, there are several archetypes that use bows - blasters, defenders and corruptors can use the Archery powerset, while controllers, defenders and dominators(?) can use the Trick Arrow powerset.
    {I think, I can't reach ParagonWiki to double-check}
  5. Hey there, welcome to City of Heroes, both the game and the forums.

1} Going Rogue is an expansion for CoX {CoH and CoV have officially merged into one game a while back}; while it does add several new zones with a lot of new content, the majority of content overall is in Paragon City or Rogue Isles. So, yes.

2} There is loot, specifically in the form of Invention Origin enhancements {"IOs"} and the recipes and salvage needed to make them, but the game is not loot-oriented. While you can use IOs to minimax or even just stuff a few more percent benefit in any given power, you can also cheerfully play with store-bought enhancements. But, since you're interested in the economy aspect, there's plenty of ebil marketeering you can get interested in.

3} The full list can be found on ParagonWiki, but a quick overview would be three new zones with a bunch of story arcs, a morality system that lets you switch from hero to villain and vice versa, and four powersets not otherwise accessible.

4} The expansion is a one-time purchase - while there is the running cost of game subscription, you don't pay more or less for having bought Going Rogue.
  6. Hey, welcome back.

1} I don't think so - US and EU codes aren't interchangeable. At least not for booster packs, I'm assuming the same applies for games themselves.

2} Not sure {will check when I get home} Whether or not you own GR is irrelevant - the resources for the expansion are installed with the base game, owning GR simply lets you access them.

The animation time takes damn near forever, but it's pretty much a permanent debuff.
  8. Just wondering how big a percentage of forumgoers knows about, knows how to use and if applicable, first heard of:

    Help channel?
    Architect Chat channel?
    Looking For Group channel?
  9. Needs romance with Manticore and talking Recluse into being a good guy. Also, there's not enough description of clothing or her favorite color.

The End? In a superhero comic universe? Who are you fooling?
  13. Welcome back, pull up a chair and roll some alts - there's been a lot of changes since you've been gone {mostly for the better}.
  14. As it has been mentioned in an earlier post, sounds like a problem with Steam and thus out of Paragon Studios' or NCsoft's hands. Consequently, venting at either of these, while possibly cathartic, is not likely to be productive.

With that in mind, workarounds is all we can offer while you get in touch with Steam support - my suggestion would be to navigate to your City of Heroes folder and look for a file named cohupdater.eu.exe {or something to that effect, I forget the actual name} and run the executable. It should also be possible to create a shortcut to it in Steam {"add a non-Steam game" option}, so you can run it from your Steam library.
  15. Just sounds iffy to me. Sounds like you're asking for advantages of scrappers, but not the disadvantage of close range.
  16. Fix the UI? Are you crazy? Last time they did that, they broke the help channel.

    Leave bad enough alone.
  17. Boomtown. Because if you're going to fix a zone, might as well use the one on rock bottom.
  18. I've been thinking of making a character that's the illegitimate child of Paco "El Puno" Estrella and the Elusive Transparrow. Now that I can play a heroic stalker, I think I'll pull her out.
  19. Mind control/Empathy controller.

Hours of fun on the whack-a-mole powerset.
  20. As the OP said, they're down to 3% and still loud.
  21. Just a quick question, is there a model for a cargo ship I could use in a demo? The closest I've seen in-game is the ghost ship, but I need a solid one.

    TIA,

  23. Regarding the mission distance, remember that you can always abandon* the mission and retake it. Every time a mission is accepted, its location is randomly chosen*, so you can basically reroll a mission location with no penalties*.

As for the street sweeping missions, I don't see a problem - they're rarely mandatory, and when they are, it's required by the plot. I would like some method of more easily tracking down required mobs, though - hunting Malta or Carnies is no fun at all.

    * not to be confused with auto-complete, which you can only use once per three days
    * In most cases - some missions spawn in a specific zone, but other than zone-specific arcs, they're few and far between
    * A caveat here is that if you abandon a multi-part mission, you'll need to start from the first mission again
  24. [QUOTE=Lothic;3144536]Part of the supposed reason why the Devs never wanted to increase our bio text space never had anything to do with pure disk space. The problem was that they had to worry about network download speeds. Basically every time you get close to another character in game the game has to download all the info for that character so that you can access it, including bio text./QUOTE]

How's that jibe with the "loading description..." text that shows up whenever you open someone's info window, if it was automatically loaded whenever they came close enough?

Also /loadbio and /savebio commands would probably solve the original problem.
