  1. may i ask how the petition organisers are viewing the Scotbot's production of a full and complete list of signatures?

Timekeeper had a go at attempting to get it back but rugby tackling a young hero when there's longbow standing around has never been a good idea - we can only assume the hero got the list back to the offices.

i daresay we need some more of Kelvinbridge's lovely tabloid articles as well ^_^

  2. April raises an eyebrow and walks up to the latest scotbot..

"every hero eh? They won't like that too much.." She pauses "Wait a minute... did you put my signature on there too?!"

April goes running after the young hero with the list..

    External rp?

heh, just an idea has turned into a basic forum. Feel free to poke around and make comments. Will probably go freeform on character creation and powers but dunno..
  9. Quilla

    External rp?

it wouldn't be Cox related because that can be done in game more enjoyably.

it would be more on the lines of a Xavier institute thing. and more focused on the mtant side of things (though magic and science wouldn't be ruled out as one could argue that control needs to be learnt for those things too)

We planned to do it without any reference to the xmen movies (cause ARGH!) But we'll need to have a discussion about when during the comic timeline it could be set comfortably.

W'll probably have any of the proper characters as extremely background things with no real part inthe rp apart from being referanced (unless there's some kind of really good canon roleplayers ^_^ Max..)

it's still just an idea at the moment

    External rp?

I was talking to a friend from way back in the old days and we were missing really badly an xmen based gifted school style rp (forgetting anything from the movies)

So I was wondering if it would be worth starting up something like that on a play-by-post basis on an external forum for anyone.

    Input, ideas?

  11. I ain't gunna manage to find a scanner before tonight. So i'll just post it as a seperate thing sometime later. Got heaps of council tax refund forms to fill in tonight and old flatmates to chase up ^_^

    White guy: "Haha..."
    Wall guy: "Shut up.."

  13. Due to scanning problems i couldn't scan my entry. So i made a real quick paint entry.. which the forums wouldn't let me post *sigh* so sticking it on my ever so trusty pen drive to post from college this very moment i plug it in.. the computer loads me into my student account and BAM! my flash drive is wiped.. apparently because i skipped college on friday afternoon i missed the announcement that there were hard disk wiping virusesesses on the network.

    *sigh*

So now i'm not only entryless but assessmentless and musicless.

FFM, I'll see about scanning the entry somewhere but for now just count me out of entering >_<

Cool entries from everyone else by the way!!

  14. Back on topic.

I'm a horrible terrible nasty horrid.. urm.. nasty.. yucky distusgusting filthy horrid yucky yuck yuck user of a time manipulation character.

Technically she can't really be killed as she isn't born yet but that's in a chronological order.. in her own lifeline she'd die. She's been scarred throughout all time by miss Ellie (retroactively too.. which is how she was made in the first place) and has been shot in the [censored] by one of her own bodyguards by accident. She'll interfere if asked, refuse to interfere if begged and probably get drunk otherwise. She can be held although because she doesn't need to move to skip out on current time she can put herself safely outside of time to wait out spell effects and suchlike.. however a good knock ont he head will stop that and her shields don't last forever (the shields seem to be something technological or an outside granted power). She prefers her gun to actually messing time about on individual people since she doesn't have the fine control it needs to speed or stop a heart to the point of death or anything like that. She works for (not own) a villain organisation and cannot by any means get what she wants from hem at a moment's notice (red tape... forms.. oh yeah.. she needs permission and there's a bunch of other head office types all vying for the higher position).

Appart from that she's as vunerable as a normal person and ends to rely more on the classic villain work arounds and minions than on godly power - she tends to be more frustrating than anything. Unlike Doc T she cannot travel in Space as well as time.

    Pink -

A rather horrifically destitute past filled with asylum time and Council time her whole hero career has been a punishment of community service. She's emotionally very fragile and tends to latch on to people. As an Empath she was exceedingly powerful but never got the hang of trading off between power and control so she's either wide open tot he entire city or shut off utterly with whats already inside her bouncing around her mind endlessly. Before she was in the Asylum she'd managed a complete shutdown with no trapped emotions whatsoever which was farly bad since she seems unable to "make" emotions on her own. While in the Asylum she was encourage to focus on the other of her powers (and a co-joined one in reality) which was almost a dead one (from focusing solely on the initially stronger empathy) and so eventually her empathic talents started to fade into the background as she gained an extraordinarly fine control over the electrical manipulation..

Both of these used together allowed her to study the stimulation of the brain in the comfort of 5th column labs. However only one facet of her powers is strong at anytime with the other pathetically weak. With all the trouble that the electric side had been causing her she slipped into a wierd midpowered balance of them both through her hero career before slipping more fully back into the empathy despite best efforts to maintain the semi-decent balance.

Again otherwise she's a perfectly normal human being.
  15. Two dead in crash

Last night in the small hours of the morning a Helicopter, violating airspace restrictions over Paragon City, spiralled out of control. Witnesses say that the rotor of the HH-60G Pave Hawk Helicopter hit a building before going into a tail spin at 2am.

The Helicopter crashed in the district of Baumtown instantly killing the two pilots and seriously injuring the Gunner. No Flight Engineer was found and is believed to have escaped the scene.

Also injured in the crash was retired Neurosurgeon/Geneticist and ex-hero Prof. Joanne Stevens (48) although it is not yet clear if she was onboard the Helicopter at the time of the crash. Police are eager for both Ms. Stevens and the Gunner of the aircraft to be declared well enough for questioning.

The US Air force has denied all accusation of illegally flying over Paragon airspace (as controlled by the city itself since the Rikti War). No-one at Hero Corps was available to comment on the incident.

((yay first time i've posted a news article..))

Basically I want to start a new African American toon called Blackflag. He'd be a super patriot in the vein of Captain America, but I wanted to know if the name offended anyone first?

you just reminded me of Clerks 2 "It's cool man, I'm taking it back"

  17. Timekeeper sits at her desk looking through the new pile of client requests.. the usual names, the usual places. With a sigh she signs some and throws some others out until she comes to a name she's never seen before..

Picking up the phone she pressed a speed dial number and wait a moment.. "Hey, It's Apri-- no... yes... we--- urm... now look he--- *sigh* Yes sir."

    Reluctantly she signs the paper..

((heyop! my villain Timekeeper and my Hero April Stevens (one and the same person) are in a constant IC state so if you see me just running around feel free to pester me ^_^))
  18. That one works for me (although I've never thought about the overall way a power of my character's works just about how it works for them biologically (cause that's the type of person I am))

I would probably draw the conclusion that A mutant is a dormant magician that just happened to develope a biological way of doing the "magic" without having to learn it at all. of course this ties in with learning to Control the mutation's power and fine tunings which involves the mind. Of course being biologically attuned to one or two things would make it more difficult to concentrate on other things and therefore they never really learn any other reality manipulations (kind of like mages specialishing in fire magic or whathaveyou)

    /e hmmm

Time to start playing with my single magic origin toon again methinks...

    good stuff Raven ^_^

  19. Still waiting for an answer to the "how dodgy is too dodgy?" ^_^ Nah just kidding :-P

..it's... getting.... along... sorta.. 0.o Oh who am I kidding, it needs utterly redrawn..

    Where to begin?

don't take chocolate - it almost killed my fire blaster ^_-

And yay! I have a DnD character too! but she's on defiant just now (i had no space by the time I made her )
  22. Last night:

Tomosha administered a cure obtained from the GX-X Scotbot to Dr Richard Westminster after having it attuned to his particular biology. As bone flaked off she helped to stimulate new skin growth and advised him to rest, eat plenty for energy and avoid painkillers for a month.

  23. ah right, i'm mistaken then. it gets quoted so much that my brain goes wiggly.

I'm sure though that since this has come up publicly players will be more careful about others who may be more squeamish than usual or more uncomfortable around certain topics for whatever reasons.

personally i've a thing about hanging and suicide but since it's never come up at GG it's never been a problem. It's just a helpful idea to let people know what you really really would prefer not to talk about.

  24. I'm afraid that a character can get in the way of the player's common decency, if moving the character away so they can speak about gory things when normally they'd find the largest gathering and taunt heroes with it then moving to a quiet area's going against everything the character is.

Coile's perfectly right in saying you should have taken the initiative in removing yourself from range. It's what anyone does in real life - you avoid things that make you uncomfortable.

Unless your character is arrogant enough to stand in the middle saying "bugger orf chaps, your disrupting my sensitive ears, ehwot?!"

either way it should have been resolved IC. since you are one of the people who have tended to quote ICA=ICC at other people often in the past why not make the example.
