All right... all right... but apart from better sanitation and medicine and education and irrigation and public health and roads and a freshwater system and baths and public order... what have the Romans done for us?

The only thing on that list I agree with is the last part, about not pulling the rug out from under the Statesman thing.
I don't think there's anything wrong with the EB's in soloable content and in fact I would like to see more of them. And his comment about bypassing getting the O-portal is silly (and has become something of a meme among the folks I play with, ever since someone else made the same silly complaint). Seriously, if you didn't get an O-portal from a story arc or any of the other million ways to get it, just go to the RWZ or Pocket D or the Black Market/Wents and say "hey can someone drop an O-portal please?" Hop in, go get the explore badge, job done.
The Rikti had their Issue(s). Yes we've had 11 other Issues since then, but I think the Rikti are fine where they are. We have SO MANY other villain groups that haven't had a spotlight issue yet. And RWZ is still great.
In my opinion his comments about market pricing are exactly backwards. Most stuff is still overpriced, but they've managed to get some stuff priced reasonably. And I don't want to see crazy off-the-wall game changing stuff showing up on the market like his suggestion about multiple primaries. Anything like that needs to be part of the core game. The market should stick to the "pay for convenience" ideology. -
I keep trying to play Stone Armor toons. Then I get to level ten and fall asleep.

Quote:I can think of two examples of this, speaking only for myself of course:I have never, ever played a game I loved playing that had a sequel that I also loved playing.
Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2.
And
Age of Empires and Age of Empires 2.
Both going back quite a ways and neither having anything to do with MMO's... -

Extra screentime for Black Widow in the Russian trailer... makes sense.

Quote:It is autohit.Hi all,
Is Power Sink in the Corruptor Electrical Mastery Epic Pool auto Hit?
To help me "learn to fish":
In general if the power cannot take Accuracy enchancements is it auto hit?
And/or
If Mids does not show an Accuracy value, then the power is auto hit?
Powers that aren't autohit and don't take accuracy... I can't think of any, but I am not sure.
Another place to look besides Mids is City of Data:

Quote:See the many, many edits to my post above.Anything's possible. I know that they definitely dropped sub-100k/ea, but maybe not quite as low as 20,000.
And I agree that with the Holiday Pack on the store, there may be a more plentiful supply of candy canes floating around at lower prices. After re-reading my post from back then I think I see why our memories may differ.
-
Quote:I question your memory on this, since last year I maintained a pretty steady candy cane flipping project throughout the event (the original timeframe anyway, I didn't continue when they extended it) and my buy price was much higher than that... I think around 100-200k but my spreadsheet doesn't list it, so...*shrug* I've left bids like that overnight and come back the next day and seen them filled.
(edit) It was about 100k. I found my report from last year:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...ght=candy+cane
I don't doubt you got some at a lower price, but they most certainly did not stabilize at that price after a week or two.
I know all hell was running a very active candy cane trade as well last year.
Edit: HOWEVER, I would not be surprised to see them drop that low, or even lower, this year and stay there. The event went on for a LONG time last year, and there are a lot of canes out there. Add to that the fact that people can outright buy the costume pack now, and there's plenty of supply to fill demand. i saw that coming last year and didn't bother to get into canes this year... not enough RoI.
Final Edit I Swear: I now see where the the difference in our memories may come from. The event was originally two weeks. That was the length of time my project ran. In that time, stable prices were 100-300k. They then extended the event for a full month, during which time I did not trade canes at all. So I revise my statement above as follows:
They most certainly did not stabilize at lower than 100k at any point during the first two weeks. They might have stabilized lower than that after two weeks, but I don't know.
At any rate, it's a moot point because as I said, I have no doubt they will be cheap as free this year. -
Quote:A) Non-VIP's can enter the zone, they just can't run the missions. I don't think they have said one way or another but I suspect lower level toons will be in the same boat. The zone is, as I understand it:
(A) going to be a level 50 zone, removing it for any non-VIP and any lower level VIPs (going in there in the early 20s was an adventure)
(b) solely (thanks to the above) incarnate, and
(c) getting a Praetorian dumped in it for some bizzarre reason that has nothing to do with DA itself. (Sorry, but no, it doesn't.)
B) As peterpeter mentioned, it's a path to unlocking incarnates, which means non-incarnates can go in there and fight stuff.
C) Why don't you wait to find out what the story is before you write it off as bizarre and inappropriate? -
I've got one of these turret missions on my main. Fun things happen to old newspaper missions when new patches come along.

"Have you ever seen that movie, Presumed Innocent?"
"Yes I have and his wife did it!" -

Quote:Nemesis, please stop posting using Zwillinger's account. We know it's you. There's a reason we announced this ahead of time. There's a reason we decided that this would be the cadence of the reveals. Perhaps all is not presently clear, and overtime it will be made as such, but there is a reason.
We wanted you to know in advance that States would die.
We wanted you to know that this is coming.
This is part of the delivery of the story which will play itself out in the coming months.
It may just be difficult to see the forest for the trees right now.

My favorite example of this is Pyriss, who you turn to the dark side in Peter Themari's arc in Port Oakes. She shows up later in one of Vernon von Grun's arcs and it is not a happy ending for her.

Did... did this thread just get trolled by Mod 13?
That's awesome. -
Quote:The hell with that. I'm playing the game to make my character the most awesome character they can be, because they are awesome all by themselves. And why? Because an NPC can be a Paragon. Players can try and emulate them.
They aren't just trying to be like Statesman (or Recluse, or Cole, or anybody else) when they grow up. -
Quote:When you can win a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer as your quarterback... yeah. That's a good defense.Just like any other winning NFL team heh...(or a really, really, REALLY good defense like the 2000 Ravens).
Also, States is dead, yeah yeah... this thread is now about football. -
