I think the most amazing name I've ever picked up was Winged Man on Virtue.
I do have a soft spot for the names I end up getting. Examples?
Malleable Mechanic
Titan Torch (and Torch Titan, for a very brief time)
Action Trooper
Gumption
Vocalizer
Hyperhaste
National Capital
Kicking Horse -
This was a very interesting read. I'd support this set!

Quote:I like this idea, here. Better to keep it a little more simple. This a power set I've wanted for a while, and sounds like a great compliment to the upcoming Bio Armor, but I imagine you need to simplify it quite a bit.
Rather than having different shapes/attacks based on the "Swap Ammo" type power, limit it to simple secondary effects, otherwise the animation work needed on an already art intensive set would render it unlikely to ever be possible.
-Dermal Denticles: Adds a Lethal DoT bleeding after effect to all attacks.
-Leech: -End debuff to enemies, chance for minor heal to self.
-Petrification: Adds a Disorient component to attacks.
Then you have the attacks form the various iconic shapes.
T1 and T2 attacks are standard "block" and "giant fist" shapes. Then you have the blade and claw shapes for AoE attacks, etc. Maybe have a ranged attack where you send a tendril through the ground and up at your target from beneath, etc.
Then with power customization you can select the texture/material to make the shape shifting mass look like rock/sand/lava (Sandman or Clayface), biological (like Prototype or Carnage), metal/chrome (T-1000 or Warblade) or even semi-transparent and color tintable energy constructs (like Bunker or a Green Lantern).
A set like this is quite do-able. Stone Fist from Stone Melee is proof of that. You just need to build on that. -
Interesting, but I want to see Swarm Blast more.

I really wish you gents and ladies on Vigilance luck in hosting this contest. I don't have any global slots to spare and I'm trying to save my points for the upcoming content... so I probably won't be able to make it.

Honestly, I agree with this: it does get annoying at times when the Admin channel is used for dev-run events.
I understand the usefulness of the Admin channel in terms of getting the point across (especially for things like maintenance announcements), but when you have events like the dev-controlled portion of the Operation Fallen Thunder event, it's a constant barrage of multi-line Nemesis or other sig-character banter displayed across all tabs in all zones and instances. It becomes redundant to read the same quips 2+ times over whether or not you're participating in the event in the first place, and all of it disrupts the information players not interested in the event want to see, such as their own RP or even their combat logs.
I understand wholeheartedly that you, the devs and CRs, want to get yourselves and the players involved in the game. But when Admin text comes up, I'm personally expecting a substantial announcement involving the game's nuts and bolts rather than having it used simply for entertainment value.
(The issue that my computer lags out whenever I try to run into the gathering crowds of any zone invasion event, thus discouraging me from participating in them... is another story altogether.) -
Ah, I found something else I wanted.
New collars and chokers across all body types, priority on just a plain version. Having only the spiked one sucks. -

Quote:I can't remember how long ago this was, but I remember some dev or GM in Atlas Park around Ms. Liberty at one time or another using this variant teleport that involved being swallowed by a "pink blob" and getting spit up elsewhere.I would like to see different types or teleportation effects, like disappearing in a puff of smoke (your choice of smoke color), emerging from a portal (in the ground or thin air), disappearing by turning into a tightly bunched group of birds/bats/leaves/etc that then fly apart and dissipate. I would like to see a jetpack as a costume option instead of a temp power, but I would want it to look different from the ones we have now (the new retro space set accomplishes that I suppose, but that hasn't been rolled out yet). I'd like to see some more wrist band options. That's all I can think of for now.
Of course, to my discredit I never got a screen of it, but I swear it happened. Maybe it was Zwill having fun? I can't say for sure. -
I'm already using Mercs/Traps for this concept on one of my characters. I think it works well enough...
-
I'd prefer Option 1 of the two, but I honestly want to keep the Statesman one as an option rather than just have the new ones.
I also like Samuraiko's suggestion. -
Quote:Pictures snipped out.hologram auras
an aura that is a glowing cylinder around the character, the shape of the star trek transporter glowing aura but looking a bit like the hologram projector in AE.
I want 3 versions
a general glowy sort of look
streams of binary numbers
streams of kanji or other characters
We already have a binary aura, though it's an iMerit unlock. -
Back option for a second pair of arms.
More tights patterns, symmetrical and asymetrical.
More Golden Age style jacket options.
More beast and animal heads and options for monsters (dragons!)!
Kheldian sashes!
More stuff other people said. It's late and I don't want to type it all. -
I'd be happy if we just had more patterns and chest emblems for the tights we have.

I've already replied to the piece on dA and put it in my favorites. Thank you again for the unexpected surprise!
And, figure if you're going to do this for free, then you should be allowed to do *some* of your own thing. ;p -
Isn't that "generic hero statue" in Blyde Square supposed to be Atlas? The hero one, not like the one that's in AP.
EDIT: Perhaps not. But that's a big statue. -
Tangent, but related: since craftable costume pieces have to be made through the inventions system, does that mean I need a license in order to make them as a Premium Player? Or is that related to IO Enhancements only?
I remember having a concept character that I wanted to work on in the past before Freedom went live, but I decided to stop working on it because I felt that it was annoying to have to wait until Level 30 to unlock auras to get the "look" I wanted. Once the Back Slot and Aura licenses were released on the market (they don't even cost the equivalent of $5, by the way), you can probably guess how quickly I snapped them up. -
From what I'm aware, there used to be a metallic costume option that didn't have the strange creases that the current one has now, but it was changed because of (correct me if I'm wrong, since this is remembered from hearsay) it made it easy to make Silver Surfer clones.
I wouldn't mind having the creaseless option, but I doubt it's going to happen. -
This is actually reminding me of a situation where I was spectating a roleplayed interview in the KR Architect building's B room and someone decided to try and call us out for "spamming our SG business" when we'd already been there for 45 minutes before he and his group arrived on the floor above us.
(The situation was resolved peacefully, by the way, but it turns out that Local in Studio B rooms bleeds into the main mission staging area above it. No big deal.) -
Hopefully the LFT spam in broadcast will be less in i23, with the new channel.
There's no need to segregate RPers from "normal players" because of the fact they enjoy the game by acting out the parts of their characters: it's their form of productive communication. If you think it's impacting your ability to get teams or follow chat that is more important to you, move out of the range of their local.
(Mind you, there are some RPers that act spammy every once in a while, but this is assuredly in the minority.) -
You work so very hard. Keep it up, Noble Savage!

I was surprised and disappointed when I heard this news, since it was near the first thing I heard when I finally logged on to the Ustream. I'm glad he isn't completely gone!
I do want to thank you, Nakkers, for at least bringing up the tights/classic age costume discussion before you went to go work on the secret project. I do hope something comes out of that discussion in the future. -
Wow, congratulations on the new arrival!
There's some great art you posted,too. -
Asking for a free day for downtime doesn't really make sense to me when there are already players that play for free as it is. How do you compensate them?
If things happen and a server goes down, then it happens: it's no big deal to me. I just go find something else to do, and it'd be the same thing even if I have a nice, shiny subscription. -
Oh, the Cryo Havoc piece is nice.
And, now we go back to patiently waiting for Alex himself to come back. (I became Premium in the meantime...)
