Quote:Fixed that for ya! And it does somewhat vex us Scots too.You feel left out? Lol Think yourself lucky you're not Welsh and having to listen to everyone in the world it seems refer to Britain or the UK as 'England', even a significant part of actual English People!

I have well over 100 toons. Never took Presence even once. I just can't see the point of it. I don't recall ever seeing anyone who has taken it. I reckon it must be the most under-used set by a long way.

My missus used to play on her work laptop a couple of years ago (which was already an old machine when she got it) and as far as I recall it had some crappy Intel graphics card and 256MB of memory. It ran COH, albeit a bit laggy at times. I can't imagine you having many problems running COH on any newish machine. £400 should be plenty especially as newer machines tend to have dual core CPUs and 2GB+ of memory. A quick google gave me system requiremnts for COH as:
Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP
Intel® Pentium® III 800 Mhz or AMD Athlon 800 Mhz
256 MB RAM
CD-ROM Drive
4 GB Available HDD Space
NVIDIA® GeForce 2 Series, ATI® Radeon® 7500 or Intel® i810G Series Video Card
16-bit Sound Card
56k modem
DirectX® 9.0c
Not much there to worry a modern laptop. -

they did say they were specifically for GR
[/ QUOTE ]
Where?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think its more the case that they haven't been mentioned at all(officially) except in connection with "Going Rogue". The implication is that they'll be specifically associated with GR as the two new signature characters are using the sets. Whether they might be available to everyone after the inital launch is another question. I would guess that they will be exclusive to GR but thats just my opinion. -

The whole thing with Marvel is that they like to growl at anyone who even looks like violating their IP. I don't imagine that they really want an expensive court battle but they know that being seen to be publicly willing to do so might discourage anyone else from "messing with their stuff".
Its kind of hard to see how the character creator could really have threatened Marvel. Lets face it, if you're going to seriously try to stop someone from creating images of your characters how are you going to stop someone with an art package or just a bunch of coloured pencils? They just want to make sure that no-one is under the impression that COH is in any way an "official" Marvel product. Which is why the cossie creator has a distinct lack of spider chest emblems or bats for that matter. -

Edited cos I found the video! -

That and teasing any players from Glasgow.

You lookin' for trouble pal?

A time portal opens up from the seventies and brings a mass demonstration by a bunch of hippies and unwashed students that can only be stopped by players using the temp powers of "tear gas", "water cannon", "Soap" and "Get a job"(VERY temporary against most hippies). Bonus xp is given for excessive use of radiation(hippies hate that) and increased carbon emissions(all those fire powers must be burning something!). Enemies would have powers such as "Summon tofu", "Wave placard", "Tree hug" and "Stink".
Defeating the demo earns players the "Crypto-fascist boot boy" badge.
or maybe not... -
[ QUOTE ]
For example, no matter how good the players are, a team entirely composed of team-build empaths is going to be a trifle dull as you zoom around gradually nibbling monsters to death.
[/ QUOTE ]
mmmmm... tempting! Both RA's x8 with a generous lashing of Fortitude. As long as they had at least a few attacks between them, they could maybe do a bit more than nibble?
Might be fun to try! -
I think the OP is referring to the basic patterns and colour schemes like Pattern 1,2, Peak, Stripe 1,2 etc.
I wouldn't mind seeing more of these basic patterns myself, perhaps even some asymmetric ones. -
I like the whole patron arc villain side when you turn against your patron, are told you are the "destined one" and are then sent forward in time to create Recluse's Victory and then it all goes wrong...
I just like the time travel basically. Its just so comic booky! -
Yeah. Its a good show. My missus listens while she's boogying with the rest of GGRRR. I'm actually quite pleased about it as I've been trying to get her to listen to some decent music for years
instead of the pap she usually listens to!
So for guiding her onto the path to decent music Rosie gets my thumbs up! -
To get back on topic, I thought that the problem with power sets like stretching(or swinging/wall crawling/grappling hooks) was engine related. The engine isn't set up to deal with them. as has been stated, I don't think there is a legal/IP/copyright issue as Champions is apparently going to have a swinging type travel power. (er..that's swinging as in ropes!
)
I think stretching could be a cool power but even if it was implemented ther would be problems. For example at the moment I can chuck fireballs or shoot lasers or whatever that appear to go through other players because they happen to be in a direct line from me to my target. It might be a bit disconcerting to see one of your teammates hands come through your chest and start giving the villain a bit of a slapping. Also, would this be a ranged or melee power set or both?
-
There are a few options already. I have a Scottish /shield scrapper with a Saltire on his shield and there are kilts. For Canadians there is a maple leaf. So there is some precedent. Even if it could be fitted into a chest emblem that would be good. Maybe one day we could even have capes. One of my biggest disappointments was finding out that I couldn't get the Union Jack cape
.
-
I'm Pyrokine. I like making things catch fire
. I'm also partial to chucking electricity and other forms of energy as well but there's just something about fire
. Me and my many, many, many alts will be here for a long time on all of my accounts (even the accounts the wife doesn't know about yet
). I've been here for 42 months now and I still only have one 50 and only three characters over 30.
Here's to I15 and beyond. I've enjoyed every issue so far and I'll enjoy many more hopefully. -

We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back to earth, who can tell?
I guess there's no one to blame
We're leaving proud
Will things ever be the same again
IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!
We're heading for Mars
And still we stand tall
Coz maybe they've seen us
And welcome us all
With so many light years to go
And things to be found
We're sure we'll all miss her so
IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!

The only reason I suggested online demotion would be to resolve the new SGL situation whereby a Leader gains SGL status and promtly demotes all other Leaders to take control of the SG.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not really a problem as its not possible to demote or kick someone of equal rank. ie A Leader can't demote another Leader or kick them from the SG. -

I'm still waiting for the update where Super Speed feels more super speedy (How about some cool blur or something too?) and Flight speed is enhanced to the current Super Speed velocity.
It will probably never happen, but if the Flash can run to the North pole in less than an hour, I should at least be able to run the length of Steel Canyon in 10 seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but thats pretty much all the Flash can do, and in the grand scheme of things being able to reach the North Pole in 10 seconds is pretty useless, unless you have a pizza delivery job and Santa as a customer.
On the other hand being able to do all the cool stuff your character can do AND run at 100mph is pretty nifty!
Flight speed is pretty naff though. -
I try to log off in a day job location if I remember but not always the same one so a lot of my characters have part filled completion bars for five or six different day jobs. After all, whats the hurry?
