  1. @Seebs, I often gift 10 or 20 million, and when they ask if I want it back, I tell them to pay it forward.
  2. Wow, just wow. The presented snipe was on a blaster. I am thinking of two corruptors with some strong accuracy debuff such as: dark, storm, rad.

    Hello everyone

If you can lost a power with (damage) an enhancement then the (musculature) alpha slotting will affect the enhancement of that powerset.

You can substitute (heal or stun) and (spiritual) or any other enhancement/alpha attribute.

    A quick question

Necro/Dark is a classic power pairing. I am not sure what trouble you are having, but necros are inherently more squishy than demons.

I have a level 50 Demons/Thermal, and he is very durable. The thermal shields stack nicely with the ember demons aura, and the thermal heals mesh well with the Demon summoning heals.

I started a Demon Summoning/Sonic resonance mastermind for thematic reasons with the new issue. I am pleasantly surprised how durable and effective the pairing is with the lower level PvE content. I find it more durable than my Bots/Time Manipulation -- so far at level 27.
  6. I would agree with the previous posters. I would add that putting Grant Invisibility in your Kinetic build so you can speed boost an ally after granting invisibility, especially for squishies. The added invisibility has a nice defense boost, AND your speedy friend can stealth quickly to mission objectives barring the +perception foes if you like.
  7. I should add also that my level 50 demon summoning MM is Demons/thermal. I use forge, and living hellfire to boost tohit and damage, along with assault and tactics. Most masterminds I try to fit in tactics just for the extra confusion resistance.

I can, though, imagine the opposite happening - the resist/end HO affecting damage, because the damage power will take the end portion of the HO, so it winds up with the whole thing.

Personally, I just stuck in 3 acc/dam HOs, 2 common IO resists and 1 common end red. Screw the heal. But if you really want to boost heal, you could try a heal/end HO, but I don't think 33% end red would be enough.

Might even boost the common resist to reach ED, but it's probably not worth it.
Hmm, is there or is there not endurance reduction in Centrioles? Centrioles definitely cover the damage and resistance. Golgis cover endurance costs of heal.

Screw the heal indeed, but you haven't slotted enough to reduce the endurance cost for heals and _other_ non-attack abilities. Not early, but soon after the level 32 abysmal empowerment your tier 2 demons will be sucking wind, with the demon prince shortly behind without attention to the slow abilities.

@microcosm, Demon Prince does use less endurance for slow than tier twos use for non-damage abilities. He should get by with a single IOs worth of endurance reduction 40+%

I am interested in Demons/time works out. My Bots/time at level 26 is underperforming my Demons/Sonic at level 25. They are not purple powered juggernauts at this point, but it's an interesting comparison.
  9. Slotting 2 Centrioles is decried as an exploit, but there is no argument that slotting centrioles for the damage and endurance reduction for maximized damage benefit would not be desirable. The damage resistance effect is an oversight on the developer's part.

My feelings is that although there are unintended consequences, no one in leveling to 50 in 8 hours. No one is defeating the Hamidon from Max altitude with packs of freezing rain users.

Is it still the case that they are linked? As in, if I slot damage enhancements it will boost their resistance, or their damage will be limited as if I were slotting with resistance enhancers?

    2) What is the best way to slot the lieuts if you don't need set bonuses out of them? They seem to need so many things, and I'm trying to use them to mule the Steadfast and Gladiator uniques. I think I tried 3 Nucleos, a Golgi, and those two uniques in mids...

    3) Which pet is the best to take the Soulbound proc? I'm obviously not going to have room for it in the lieuts, but between the minions and the boss?
Early in the development of the Demon Summoning, there was talk of a 'gimmick' slotting for the tier 2: Acc, Acc/dmg from a pet set, 2 Centrioles for Dmg, Dmg resistance, and endurance reduction, and 2 Golgis for Heal and End. This slotting was put forth because the pet damage IOs do NOT reduce the endurance cost of the heals or the reistance shield. Getting some endurance reduction in the build was the main goal. For the procs, I would agree that tier one's would be the easiest place to max out accuracy and damage in Pet IO frankenslotting 5 slots, with the last slot for a proc

The pet IO and recharge intensive pet IO resistance and defense bonus fit best in Hell on Earth.

If you are interested, I mix up two slots of frankenslotting for accuracy, damage, endurance and then I put four slots of Pacing of the Turtle in the 3rd tier Demon Prince so that accuracy, damage, endurance reduction and some slows are boosted. Because most of the abilities of the Demon Prince include a slow component, the accuracy and damage in Pacing of the Turtle works well. Please note again, the endurance reduction in pet IO sets do not reduce the endurance cost of abilities of the Demon Prince that do no damage.
  11. I gave up on my first peacebringer, but my second seemed much better

My TA/sonic defender seemed like a good concept, but it peels off sooooo much aggro and dies quickly, never made it to level 30.

My Bots/TA is love/hate. I HATE investing so heavily in Repair and the Medicine pool. On, the other hand, it does tankermind better than some )
  12. I think both sets offer a lot. I am not sure for min/max that beam rifle is the best complement to time manipulation, but they are both good. Endurance usage is a big concern for time. Fortunately the most emphasized debuffs are unenhanceable.

Off-topic, I wonder how many players we have from South America. I like that this game has international appeal. Tengo primos en Paraguay. Siquiere, pueda preguntarme en espanol, pero no se portugues.
  13. The new "Lost" story arc is very buggy and unenjoyable.

    1. The contact pops up on the screen, but no contact is listed in active or inactive.

    2. The arc is highly biased against masterminds because all level capped ATs get up to +5 levels to the mission cap, as in all other contect. The problem is masterminds have powers to level 24, BUT they do not get their second tier 2 pet. Level 20-25 is hell enough for masterminds.

    3. The pumicites ambush in the middle of the second mission. My mastermind was ambushed by 9 pumicites. Fair enough, I use return to battle and run clear back to the door of the mission to resummon. I am followed by the ambush. Terrific, death 2 in 2 minutes. The ambush returns to a position out of sight, so I use the rez from the safeguard bank mission. AGAIN, the same pumicites ambush my mastermind while he is summoning pets.

I don't need to do the debt shuttle on a level 20 mission that is supposed to be an enjoyable arc. Maybe this is still the Statesman formula, where if everyone is a Tank, Scrapper or Brute, we wouldn't have this kind of trouble.

    4. I quit the task force, and my character is subject to the repeating, looping theme music of the failed task force even after I zone -- insult upon injury.

    Im bots/traps/Mu Mastery.

I logged off my Bots storm the moment I read once again from a player forming a tf that they dont like KB. Heard all the before I quit playing last year.
I would go musculature for MOAR damage.

Player forming the TF gets 1 Star on a note, never team with micromanager, unimaginative dictators. Ignore isn't good enough because they eventually roll off the ignore list.
  15. This is a big mechanic: temporal selection as I read it then is +heal rather than merely +regeneration. Masterminds should definitley use temporal selection healing pets: necros, protector bots, ember demons et al or other healing teammates. For minions or teammates with heal auras this will leverage a great deal more healing.

    Sad Sonics

My .02 influence, I have bought into sonic resonance since the beta for that issue. I find sonic cage to have far more utility when soloing. I agree that finding a way to proliferate applying the sonic disruption field to the defender WHILE SOLO would be good.

I rolled up a Demon/Sonic to witness the effects of having a willing sonic debuff anchor always available. Wow, talk about endurance usage! Even with inherent stamina, my toggles are crashing all the time.

The -resistance of disruption field is mobile and constant. If it's on a sympathetic ally or a melee pet, it's very effective to keep on a running/mobile hard target. In my opinion, less endurance cost or bigger debuff would be appreciated. Seeing the interplay with time juncture, a modest -damage debuff augmenting the anchor's -resistance would be an interesting improvement.
  17. Perhaps I am not comprehending what appears to be happening. I noticed when my time manipulation controller teammate uses temporal selection on my character, it results in my character's temporal mending ticks to be buffed higher. Or, am I completely hosed and just seeing someone else's numbers.

Including myself there were three players in the mission and all had the same problem.
I am guessing it was a Brickstown mayhem. This map has notoriously been buggy and it isn't even the biggest mayhem map.
  19. Sometimes it appears to be ISP instability, other times, it appears on the Paragon server side where I lost connection. I am in the same rocket board.
  20. Distortion field AoE -recharge? YES, please!
  21. Sonic buffs on top of bots defense sounds good, but you will be micromanaging the pet with sonic dispersion to stay in range. Bots kb tends to push things back, and if you manage it, then it will work out, but you still have to wait to get in debuff range. This also spreads out your pets from under sonic dispersion.

Time distortion... I've only started playing with it, but I'm not impressed by it. If i want to make enemies be slow, I've got 2 or 3 other powers that do that. If you're a controller with an AoE immob or slow, then it's a bit redundant. IMO, the chance to hold needs to be a little higher, and needs to last longer. After some testing, i got to hold a level 1 minion for about 15 seconds.. while I was level 16. Something tells me that if i were to hold an even con foe, i wouldn't notice the effect because they'd be free within moments. Though i wonder if Lockdown: chance for +2 mag hold would help this power...

Other than that, loving everything i see so far.
This bit I disagree with. The -RECHARGE is good even if foes are immobilized. I also like to stack slows/-recharge on targets like EBs AVs that resist slows
  23. Admittedly, the Task Force was started with a difficulty setting too high. We slogged our way through the last mission. However, when we got to the dark clones of our team, we knew we were beaten when the Beam Rifle clone of our teammates used the tier 9 nukes against our level 16 team.

    Time Overpowered

I have been playing lowbie levels with a Bots/Time manip. Smashing damage/burst damage will overpower heal over time. The other limiting factor besides mezz is: player limitation on maintaining the click buffs and masterminding I know there could be worse complaints.

Although sonic might boost resistance of demons to a pretty high level, along with some great -resist, you have nothing to counter the regen of AV and no healing to backup the damage.

I wonder what the numbers are with thermal, but that would be the safer choice for demons, additional heal and -regen debuff (though lesser resist and resist debuff).
Demons/thermal, while having less resistance in the shields, DOES have nice heals in the secondary. Another negative for demons/thermal is there is no sonic dispersion equivalent to protect the mastermind from mezzes. Demons/thermal is meant to be built for speed if only for the heat exhaustion and melt armor.
